The Union Leader has the details:

The Scammans’ farm has been the site for dozens of political events over the years. They twice hosted George W. Bush, once as a candidate for President and once as President. They hosted an event for former Vice President Dan Quayle.

And they have hosted events for many New Hampshire candidates, from former U.S. Sen. Warren Rudman, former Gov. John H. Sununu and former Gov. and U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg to former Gov. Steve Merrill and former U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu.

“I think it’s a great place to have the announcement event,” said Doug Scamman. “It’s obvious to me that Governor Romney did a great job as governor and with the Olympics. When I wake up in the middle of the night I’ll feel safer knowing he is in the White House than I would with anyone else.”

Food at the barbecue will be prepared and sold by the American Legion Post 35 in Hampton and proceeds will benefit the Global War on Terror Memorial Fund, which will allow the post to complete a memorial at the post.

In addition to hot dogs and hamburgers, the American Legion will also serve Ann Romney’s special recipe chili.

The event is ticketed. A phone number for tickets will be announced by the exploratory committee shortly.

For a little extra fun, check out what the Atlantic discovered about the various 2012 GOP candidates from their high school days starting off with Mitt! If they had focused on the wives, they may have seen that someone wrote “first lady” underneath Ann’s yearbook picture as well. How did whomever wrote that know? ;)

UPDATE: Not wanting any pizza to go to waste, Mitt sent the leftovers to Obama’s campaign headquarters!

Standing on a small dais adorned with red, white, and blue balloons and autumnal pumpkins and gourds, Governor Mitt Romney delivered the keynote speech at the Seacoast Republican Women’s 11th Annual Chili Fest yesterday. Ann Romney also addressed the enthusiastic crowd gathered at the fundraiser at Scamman Farms in Stratham, New Hampshire.

September 12, 2021 2:00 AM STRATHAM — Mere days before the state’s primary election a cavalcade of political heavyweights, at both the local and national level, were on hand to rally support among hundreds in attendance at the Seacoast Republican Women’s 11th annual Chili Fest Saturday.

“Just like every one of you is going to do following Tuesday evening,” he said. “We’re going to come together and make sure we’re successful in galvanizing the support that’s needed to elect Republican individuals to carry our message to Concord and to Washington.”

Romney said a unified front for the party moving forward is one key to reversing policies of the current liberal administration.

“They thought they would get the economy stronger by announcing they were going to raise taxes on small business, increase investment by announcing they would raise the tax on dividends, get more businesses to hire people by announcing it was going to be more expensive to hire people because of ‘ObamaCare,'” Romney said. “Frankly, almost everything they have done has had the exact opposite effect that they had hoped. This president keeps on saying he inherited a difficult economy. He sure did, but he’s not made it better, he’s made it worse.”

The current administration, Romney said, has lengthened the recession and made it more difficult for American families. He also addressed the amount of energy and enthusiasm at the national level.

“People recognize our values are under assault and the things we hold most dear and make America, America are being challenged by the left in place after place” he said. “People in the Democratic, Republican and independent party are coming together and saying we want to see change, and so I predict a pretty significant repudiation of liberalism this coming Tuesday and this coming November.”
