Obama Unplugged and Revealed (Updated)

Remember, Remember! This has been a weekend of tender remembrance and reflection on the precious treasure spilt in defending our freedoms and liberties. To each who has given the ultimate sacrifice, even their very lives, in preserving and defending our freedoms; to their families and to each of the willing who has served or is serving, words are wholly inadequate. Even so, THANK YOU!

Given the sacrifices born for our freedom, we not only need to be appreciative and grateful, but responsible and accountable to the price paid for freedom. Therefore, as we consider the choices before us in the current Presidential election, may we further consider certain constants or truths that may be applicable in our pondering, and hopefully help shape our decision in the course forward? Some constants that have come to mind this weekend, to consider in our choice:

“Flattery and cunning words are the tools most often used to gain power, advantage, influence and control.”
“What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say.”
“By their fruits ye shall know them.”

In November, America faces a ‘defining moment’, an inflection point where we are making a choice, not just for an economic turnaround, but a choice for our very freedoms and liberty. We are choosing a leader who will either, guide our nation with experience and integrity, and abide an agenda that preserves our exceptionalism and freedom, or a ‘leader’ who, with flattery and guile, subtly advocates an ideology that seeks to destroy the very fabric of our Nation’s foundation – our freedom, liberty and exceptionalism.

Disappointed as I was with the outcome of the elections in 2008, I deemed Barack Obama a good man, but one unprepared and untested to lead. After all, with little experience, how much damage could he really do? Was I ever wrong! Look how far we are off course because of his incompetence, or his duplicity, or both?

It reminds of the boiling frog where the water temperature subtly rises without warning until it is too late. The frog enjoys the warmth with mediocrity unknowing what is about to befall him in his ultimate demise. Wake up America!

Let’s take a look at Barack Obama unplugged and revealed –

Referencing the worst President in history for business, in the American Spectator, Gary Shapiro addresses a list of 50 things (could be more) Obama has done in the past three years to undermine our economic fabric, HERE.

The Republican National Committee further provides a brief glimpse at Obama gone wild when it comes to the discipline, or lack thereof, of managing our economy below – willful intent, duplicity, incompetence? You choose!

As telling and revealing as these things are, consider “The Obama Constants” and applications below. In each instance, there is more that could be said.

Flattery: President Obama seems to heap flattery upon selected American societies hopeful that they will be blinded by his praise and turn a contrary course against another. The President’s unstated objective of waging class warfare for preserving his position as POTUS is offensive at best.
(Definition - a compliment or speech; excessive, insincere praise. Synonyms - sycophancy, toadying, fawning, pandering. Constant - Flattery and cunning words are the tools most often used to gain power, advantage, influence and control.)

Duplicity/Guile: President Obama has stated that his Presidency would be the most transparent of any in American history – it has been anything but transparent. Whether in the advocacy of Obamacare, or management of foreign policy, Obama has stated one thing and done the opposite. His social mandate on the Catholic Church contrary to their tenets while proffering otherwise; his statement to Medvedev on a ‘hot’ microphone and the subsequent cover-up; his appointment of czars to get around the Constitutional checks and balances of Congress; in each case, Obama has pursued a secret agenda contrary to transparency.
(Definition – insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception; duplicity; deceitfulness in speech or conduct, as by speaking or acting in two different ways to different people concerning the same matter; double-dealing. Synonyms – deceit, deception, dissimulation, fraud, hypocrisy, trickery. Constants - What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say. By their fruits ye shall know them.)

Hypocrisy: President and Mrs. Obama advocate for provident and responsible living for all Americans while they choose to live lavishly on the backs of the American people – citing the 16+ vacations costing taxpayers millions, and millions of dollars. It seems that the Obama’s find comfort in a “let them eat cake” mindset. Further, President Obama amazingly stated that sometimes he even forgets that Americans are suffering a recession; really? (see previous post here). President Obama’s attacks on American enterprise and private equity are unequaled and duplicitous at best; and yet, he has no qualms about ‘public equity’ wherein he invests America’s dollars into his ‘crony capital’ equity projects, i.e., Solyndra, Fisker and others - to what end? If given a choice of who I would trust with America’s dollars, it is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney’s return on capital investment to his investors far surpasses anything President Obama could hope for, thankfully. President Obama’s failure to understand economics is irresponsible - he fails to understand simple economics, that in wealth creation, jobs are created - they are inextricably linked.
(Definition – a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess. 2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude. Synonym – deceit. Constants - What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say. By their fruits ye shall know them.)

Indecisive: Throughout Barack Obama’s term as President he has and continues to vacillate on important decisions, even being pressed by his advisors on certain key decisions like pursuing Osama Bin Laden and others. Obama’s vacillation on the Arab Spring and other critical foreign policy matters has undermined America’s leadership position in the world; why else have we seen a diminishing of respect for America? Our President has not held constant to our core principles and values, and has undermined us by apology and subordination. When leadership and decisiveness were needed most critically at the beginning of his term, in dealing with our economy and domestic policy, he deferred to Congress (Pelosi and Reid) while opting for his ‘apology tour’. His lack of resolve on our deficit and spending has left us without, economically; his failure to be decisive is an unbridled failure of leadership and exposes his inexperience and incapacity to serve as POTUS. Never has one been so ill-prepared.
(Definition – characterized by indecision, as persons; irresolute; undecided. Synonyms – vacillating, hesitant, wavering. Constants - What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say. By their fruits ye shall know them.)

Most importantly - see the comparative illustrated below.

Thanks to Vic Lundquist for the link - this epitomizes the character comparative of pride vs humility/meekness. Like unto George Bush, Mitt Romney reflects humility.

Pride: With Obama, it is all about Obama! It doesn’t matter that the Navy SEALs took out Bin Laden, it was Obama who took credit. Is there anything he doesn’t take credit for, besides the economy which isn’t about him - it is Bush’s fault. Pride is a terrible disease and one of, if not the most destructive character traits an individual can aspire to, and is always preceded with the letter ‘I’. There is no letter ‘I’ in ‘we’. Contrarily, Mitt Romney, who has every basis for pride through his accomplishments, always defers to others and their successes.
(Definition - a high or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. the state or feeling of being proud. Synonyms - Pride, conceit, self-esteem, egotism, vanity, vainglory imply an unduly favorable idea of one’s own appearance, advantages, achievements, etc., and often apply to offensive characteristics. Pride is a lofty and often arrogant assumption of superiority in some respect: Pride must have a fall. Conceit implies an exaggerated estimate of one’s own abilities or attainments, together with pride: blinded by conceit. Self-esteem may imply an estimate of oneself that is higher than that held by others: a ridiculous self-esteem. Egotism implies an excessive preoccupation with oneself or with one’s own concerns, usually but not always accompanied by pride or conceit: His egotism blinded him to others’ difficulties. Vanity implies self-admiration and an excessive desire to be admired by others: His vanity was easily flattered. Vainglory, somewhat literary, implies an inordinate and therefore empty or unjustified pride: puffed up by vainglory. boast. Constants - What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say. By their fruits ye shall know them.)

A further comparative with Governor Romney will follow in a subsequent post, wherein we can compare with the same constants noted above.

#UnravelTheSweater: Rick Santorum’s Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Hypocrisy

Despite co-sponsoring a bill limiting medical malpractice lawsuits to $250,000, Santorum supported and aided his wife when she sued her doctor for $500,000 in 1999. Santorum co-sponsored the bill twice before he helped his wife sue for double that amount.

In Contrast to the Lettermans of the World I Present…

Mitt and Ann Romney

Mitt and Ann Romney

  • Met in high school at the age of 16 and 18
  • The high school sweethearts married 4 years later
  • The Romneys celebrated 40 years of marriage in March (Married March 21, 2022)
  • Raised five boys. They now have five daughters-in-law, and fourteen grandchildren

It’s lamentable that true dedication to spouse and family is becoming increasingly more rare in our society. Just pondering this brings me back to one of the first reasons I became interested in Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate:

Here is a longer one, but well worth the time:

Compare that kind of dedication to one’s spouse to the most recent confession of David Letterman. Do you think Sarah Palin somewhere writing jokes in a monologue about his despicable actions and his explicit hypocrisy? I doubt it.
