“Imagine what Barack can do in four more years!” Mrs. Obama Helping to Elect Romney?

Is Michelle Obama thinking about more vacations she can take if her husband gets four more years? (photographer unknown)

Well… How’s this for motivation to GET OUT THE VOTE for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan?

Michelle Obama asked twitter users yesterday: “Imagine what Barack can do in four more years!”

I’ve been with Mitt Romney Central since its inception and I’ve never written an article about Michelle Obama. I didn’t write about the time Michelle said “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.” I didn’t utter a peep about the time when Michelle, confiding to then-First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, on her own job as First Lady, supposedly said “It’s hell. I can’t stand it!” (Both later denied it.) Nothing from me regarding our First Lady’s aversion to placing her hand over heart when our national anthem is played. I’ve never pointed out the way the press hits Ann Romney for her clothing choices, but gives Michelle a pretty pass and plenty of praise. No keyboard clacking from me about the time Mrs. Obama went to a food bank wearing $540 sneakers. I didn’t mention the time Mrs. Obama inferred that a vote for Mitt Romney would cause women to die from cancer. I haven’t written about the way Michelle’s ‘Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act’ forces some school kids to go hungry. And, I didn’t post an article about Mrs. O’s speech at the Democratic National Convention in September - the fairytale she presented of her and Barack’s struggles.

Today, the First Lady’s tweet changed my mind.

Imagine what Barack can do in four more years?

Uh, Michelle, you’re killin’ me.

Maybe you’re thinking about what YOU can do with four more years.

Besides all the pricey trips to Martha’s Vineyard, Aspen, and Hawaii, remember in the summer of 2010 when the Obamas encouraged Americans to visit the oil-stricken Gulf Coast and then high-tailed it, lickety-split, for a family vacation in Maine? Remember how shortly after returning from Maine, Michelle Obama then jetted off for a private, closed-to-the-press, luxurious vacation in Spain? (To jog your memory, that was the time she took her youngest daughter and an entourage of long-time family friends and lounged at the ritzy Costa del Sol hotel.) Remember when she and her girls took off for a family vacation and within an hour, her husband followed. She wouldn’t wait for him so we got to pay for two jets!

Here’s the Obama three-and-a-half-years vacation list:

— President’s Day 2012, Michelle and the first daughters in Aspen, Colorado to ski.
— Christmas 2011, the first family in Hawaii for an extended vacation.
— Summer 2011, in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., for the annual beach break.
— June 2011, the first lady, her mother and daughters traveled to South Africa and Botswana.
— President’s Day 2011, the first lady and first daughters travel to Vail to ski.
— Christmas 2010, in Hawaii.
— August 2010, the first family traveled to Panama City Beach, Fla., for sun and fun at the beach.
— August 2010, Obama spent the weekend alone in Chicago for his 49th birthday bash.
— August 2010, the first lady and daughter Sasha traveled to Spain for a mother-daughter vacation.
— August 2010, summer vacation again at Martha’s Vineyard.
— July 2010, the first family went to Mount Desert Island, Maine.
— May 2010, the first family had a four-day trip to Chicago.
— March 2010, first lady and daughter spend Spring Break in New York City.
— Christmas 2009, Hawaii again for the annual break.
— August 2009, at Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon for a short vacation.
— August 2009, their first summer vacation as first family at Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.

Video montage of Mrs. Obama’s jolly jaunts at taxpayer expense:

Yeah, Michelle may have more chi-chi-foo-foo-taxpayer-footing-the-bill vacations on her bucket list.

It was a travesty the way the mainstream media made a big stink about the Romneys this past 4th of July for sharing their own paid-for jet ski with family and friends - at their home on Lake Winnipesaukee. Meanwhile, they’ve overlooked Michelle Obama’s love for lap-of-luxury vacations (which comes out of our penny-jingling pockets).

  • Speaking of expensive jaunts, here’s another point… There’s a stark contrast in how the Obama campaign pays its bills and how responsible and frugal Mitt Romney is - even down to the hotel accommodations he chooses. DO read more here.

  • Imagine what Barack can do in four more years? He’ll finish destroying the USA.

Here’s what a few other Americans think:

    (Hat tip / Twitchy)

  • What are Michelle Obama and her husband so proud of?

Their hubris over such a failed record makes one’s eyes bug out and shoot blood! I will not use my last-full-day-of-Romney-campaign energy to go into the havoc and destruction Mr. O has brought upon us. Here’s my summary:

No, Michelle. We don’t want to imagine what your husband can do with four more years! (By cartoonist Gary Varvel - Nov 4, 2021)

Hurricane Sandy: Romney Campaign Bus in VA Will Deliver Supplies

Mitt Romney’s campaign bus in Arlington, VA will be used to deliver supplies to those affected in the area by Hurricane Sandy. Oct 28, 2021 (Photographer unknown)

Due to the impending threat from Hurricane Sandy, Governor Mitt Romney cancelled campaign events over the weekend scheduled to take place in Virginia and New Hampshire. He joined Congressman Paul Ryan on the campaign trail in swing-state Ohio. (For today’s events, click on our Mitt Calendar.) The Romney campaign is calling for emergency supply donations to be brought to his Victory offices in Virginia. Romney’s bus will used to deliver supplies to those affected by the hurricane in that area.

Tweets tell the story! (Included are messages from Emily Friedman, ABC producer/digital reporter covering Governor Romney’s campaign, Rachel Streitfeld, CNN political producer, also covering the campaign, and Mitt and Ann Romney):

Late last night, Romney also sent out the following email:

Tonight, Ann and I are keeping the people in Hurricane Sandy’s path in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope that if you can, you’ll reach out to your neighbors who may need help getting ready for the storm — especially your elderly neighbors. And if you can give of your resources or time, please consider supporting your local Red Cross organization — visit www.redcross.org to get involved.

For safety’s sake, as you and your family prepare for the storm, please be sure to bring any yard signs inside. In high winds they can be dangerous, and cause damage to homes and property.

I’m never prouder of America than when I see how we pull together in a crisis. There’s nothing that we can’t handle when we stand together.

    Stay safe and God Bless,

    Mitt Romney

UPDATE: Governor Romney has cancelled all campaign events for the remainder of today and tomorrow.

Thanks, Team Romney, for your leadership and taking action to help!

MRC is keeping those in the storm’s path in our thoughts and prayers.

Obama/Biden Worried About Romney/Ryan’s Large Crowds

This brought a smile to my face… VP crowd numbers (Aug 13, 2021):

Vice President Joe Biden spoke before a crowd of 660 people in Durham, N.C., at the Durham Armory during a campaign stop for President Barack Obama on Monday.

Biden’s appearance before a comparatively meager crowd came a day after the newly formed Republican ticket — presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan — rallied a crowd of over 10,000 in High Point, N.C., about an hour away, and a crowd of approximately 4,700 people in Mooresville, N.C., about two and a half hours away.

Jeffrey Bunnell, the assistant chief of special operations for the City of Durham Fire Department, provided The Daily Caller with the 660 crowd estimate, attributing the number to the Secret Service.

Tomorrow, FOX News’ Britt Hume has snagged the first official ‘single’ interview with Paul Ryan. The interview will air at 6:00 PM ET on FOX.

More on crowd sizes; “The Republican base is energized.”:

New Obama panic: Romney crowd sizes
    August 13, 2021

The recent frantic email theme to supporters from Team Obama about Mitt Romney’s run-away fundraising successes has been expanded to the crowd size gap between the thousands who rushed out over the weekend to see Romney and new running mate Rep. Paul Ryan and the hundreds who cheered on President Obama.

The big worry expressed in a new email from Obama’s Chicago HQ: “The Republican base is energized.” The reason: Romney attracted 15,000 at a rally over the weekend.

    The email:

    Paul —

I just got this disturbing report: Yesterday’s Romney-Ryan rally in North Carolina pulled in an overflow crowd of 15,000 people.

There’s no spinning that number. It’s a LOT of people, and the Republican base in energized.

And that’s not all. Since the VP announcement, Romney’s campaign has brought in over 70,000 donations from his Tea Party base.

We’ve got to step up our game and mobilize our supporters — starting right now.

Donate $3 or right now to help us rally our base around President Obama’s agenda >>

Listen to what one Republican supporter said about Paul Ryan: “I love him…He’s going to excite the Tea Party and get them on board…”

We can’t let the Republicans claim the momentum. …

Romney Strong on LEGAL Immigration: ALIPAC “Rick Perry is Finished”

After last night’s presidential debate and hearing Rick Perry’s clearly stated stance on issues related to illegal immigration, Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) sent out this email:

    Friends of ALIPAC,

You have to see this new video from last night’s debate. We have never seen a crowd response like the one here where Rick Perry is booed again.

Please take the following quick important steps today.

Step 1: Click this link , watch this video, and consider making a comment and sharing it with others.

VIDEO - Rick Perry Booed Again for $100K Illegal Immigrant Support Plan

Step 2: Please read, understand, share, and report on our national press release going out today.

National Press Release from ALIPAC September 23, 2021

    Rick Perry Is Finished

Special thanks to all of our ALIPAC supporters that submitted illegal immigration questions for this debate!

    From ALIPAC letter linked above:

Texas Governor Perry destroyed his chances of winning the GOP Presidential primary during last night’s debate when he defended his support for in-state tuition for illegal aliens which is opposed by 81% of all Americans.

Rick Perry proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is not the right choice for America by supporting these radical illegal immigration attracting measures,” said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. “Perry’s support for in-state tuition for illegals forces taxpayers to pay to replace their own children in the limited seats in our colleges!

From the MRC Email Bag: Response to Romney’s Las Vegas Speech

If you google “contact Mitt Romney” our contact page is the second result that comes up. I receive about 8 emails a day from people who want to volunteer, offer advice, request media interviews, or just plain want to tell me why Romney will never be elected. It is apparent that most don’t understand we are not connected with Romney in anyway as their emails are addressed directly to Mitt. Very often I have to reply and reiterate that we have no access to Romney and cannot forward messages to him.

Rarely do I receive emails like the one shared below (with permission). It’s a refreshingly positive response from someone who previously didn’t know Romney well, and was quite impressed by his speech earlier this week in Las Vegas.

    Subject: IFA 2011 speaker

    Message: Mr. Romney,

I am writing to express my appreciation for your speech at the International Franchise Association in Las Vegas 2011. In my opinion, the content of your speech was fantastic, and it not only made me proud to be an American, but it also eased my concern of politicians today. I am excited that we have a “politician” (although you don’t consider yourself a politician yet because of the minimal time spent in office) who spent his career in the private sector and is able to relate to small and large business alike. It irritates me that many politicians (especially our president) have spent their career in politics and cannot relate to “real life” scenarios. I must admit that prior to your speech I was not aware of your accomplishments both as a business executive as well as a politician.

There were two “ah ha” moments for me: 1- it speaks volume to your character that you personally called all 63 families of the service men & women you visited. 2- the fact that you personally reviewed, strategically implemented key action points, and ultimately turned around the state budget deficit clearly shows you are focusing your leadership in the right arenas.

In closing, I appreciate your insight on government, business, and life in general. You have my full support and I wish you best of luck in all future endeavors, hopefully as our next President.

    Sincerely ,

I join Greg, and Ann Romney herself, in hoping that Mitt Romney will be our next President.

    ~Nate Gunderson

Update: As I was writing this post I got this in the ol’ inbox:

Subject: Why Romney won’t be president.

Message: So President Obama “…and his fellow travelers in Washington fundamentally don’t understand America.” Interesting. But Romney does? A man who’s never worked a day in his life? A man with five strapping, handsome, perfect-teethed sons, NONE of whom could see their way clear to join any branch of the military and serve their country, but preferred to enter the family business which is, presumably, being rich?
Romney doesn’t have a clue about America, unless it’s the privileged, rich America he loves so well.
And since the government can’t be run like a business, he has no idea how to run it.
Good thing he unloaded a couple of those multi-million dollar homes. Now he’s just like the rest of us.

I just had to laugh at the comment that Romney has never worked a day in his life. This person obviously knows nothing of Romney.
