Romney Leads Obama in Early Voting 52% to 45% — “Reagan Excitement Level”

We are going to win one week from today!

Listening to Stephanie Desperation Cutter and David Panic Axelrod from the Sunday talk shows would have us all believe that President Obama has all but won this election. Cutter and Axelrod seem to be deeper encapsulated in the bubble than President Obama! Ms. Cutter is straining so hard to tow the line for Mr. Obama that she has lost all credibility (she blew by Axelrod after the first debate when she declared Obama the winner! Classic!). Even the TV pundits strain to help her out as she obviously believes her own advertising now (she talks and blinks faster every time she is on TV these days and I don’t think it is the caffeine). Stephanie Cutter obviously loves her White House job!

Remember, Senator Obama beat Senator McCain by only six points in 2008; that’s it! Six points! And that was during a year when everything was going his way; with the wind to his back and atmospheric expectations. After all, promises were in abundance fueled by the dreamy platitudes, faith in the future, and hope beyond hyperbole. Change for all!

There are so many variables and factors at play in 2012 that could make a huge difference in the final election results. Consider these: Obama got 95% of all African American votes; what if the same number of black voters turn out but only 80% or 70% vote for him? (see African American Bishop Jackson’s plea here). Many first time young voters that supported Obama in 2008 have been completely disillusioned by his many failures; what if 40% of these just don’t show up in 2012 or decide to take action for Romney? Remember the women voters? Obama told us all year he had them locked up and was leading by 20 to 35 points by some estimates; now Romney and Obama are tied with the women vote. What if 3, 5, or 9 percent of all Obama voters of 2008 just decide to stay home this election? Obama got a high percentage of the Jewish vote in 2008; what if the Jewish vote is split evenly this time? There are many other variables we could explore. I think we are going to see some big surprises this year.

Fact: More Republicans will vote in 2012 than in 2008. Yesterday, Gallup reported that Romney leads Obama in early voting 52% to 45%. Breitbart writer John Nolte writes:

Romney’s early voting lead in Gallup may not jive with the CorruptMedia narrative, but it does with actual early vote totals that have been released and show Romney’s early vote totals either beating Obama in swing states such as Colorado and Florida or chipping away at the President’s advantage in the others. For example, here’s what we know about Ohio’s early voting numbers, thus far [from Politico]:

But here is what we do know: 220,000 fewer Democrats have voted early in Ohio compared with 2008. And 30,000 more Republicans have cast their ballots compared with four years ago. That is a 250,000-vote net increase for a state Obama won by 260,000 votes in 2008.
Other than the fact that this is Gallup, another reason to embrace this poll is due to its very large sample size of 3,312 registered voters.

Ronald Reagan’s Treasury secretary, Bay Buchanan yesterday compared the look and feel of Romney’s 2012 campaign to that of the Reagan 1980 campaign:

“The intensity level is remarkable,” says Buchanan, who was also the treasurer of Reagan’s presidential primary campaigns in 1976 and 1980 and national treasurer of Reagan’s general election presidential campaigns in 1980 and in 1984.

“It’s not only showing up in the polls, but if you go out in the states as I have, in Florida and in Wisconsin, the excitement level is something that I haven’t seen since Reagan,” she says.

At a rally in Colorado, “The forum sat 10,000 people and 10,000 people packed in there and they had to turn people away,” Buchanan says. “In Leesburg, Va., there were 8,000 people in the line to get in, and it was a mile long down into the main part of town.”

Buchanan says Romney’s campaign has become a movement.
As a result, “From my personal experience, the excitement and enthusiasm of our supporters is equal to what I saw during Ronald Reagan’s first campaign,” Buchanan says. “We’re now a movement to change America, and Mitt Romney heads it up.”

Finally, how much influence do Israeli citizens have with the Jewish voter here in America? I have no idea, but consider the fact that 57% of Israelis prefer Romney to 22% that prefer Obama:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney leads President Barack Obama by a whopping 35 percentage points among Israeli Jews when it comes to who they think will best look out for Israel’s interests, according to a new poll from Tel Aviv University/Israel Democracy Institute.

Rarely have I given my opinion here in MRC about polling or surveys. The reason being that statistics can be manipulated in so many diverse ways and unless one is willing to become an expert analyst he will just be manipulated. That said, I think we should completely ignore all polls in this last stretch of seven days, no matter how positive they may be. Governor Romney is bringing it. We need to work harder than we have ever worked to bring it in our neck of the woods.

America’s Trickster-in-Chief? The Obama You DON’T KNOW

Barack Obama

A relevant, but perhaps overlooked, aspect of President Obama’s character was briefly mentioned in the thought-provoking documentary film 2016: Obama’s America. While a young teenager, Obama made an enlightening discovery. He figured out a trick - that he had a “knack”. The trick was, if he smiled, was polite, and “didn’t make any sudden moves”, he could manipulate people. Not only that, he could get people to want to help him. It was a “knack” he carefully perfected through the years. It became a trick that would help put him in the White House…

Does America have a Trickster-in-Chief? Who is the real Barack Obama?

Today, The Washington Examiner published an in-depth article peeling back the layers of the Obama you don’t know. In a four-month research effort, many interviews were conducted with Obama supporters and non-supporters in Chicago and elsewhere. In an effort to separate myth from reality, court transcripts, government reports and other official documents were also referenced. I’ve only highlighted some of what was written and urge you to read the entire article.

Over the years and in two autobiographies, Obama has presented himself to the world as many things, including radical community organizer, idealistic civil rights lawyer, dynamic reformer in the Illinois and U.S. senates, and, finally, the cool presidential voice of postpartisan hope and change.

With his air of reasonableness and moderation, he has projected a remarkably likable persona. Even in the midst of a historically dirty campaign for re-election, his likability numbers remain impressive, as seen in a recent AP-GFK Poll that found 53 percent of adults have a favorable view of him.

But beyond the spin and the polls, a starkly different picture emerges. It is a portrait of a man quite unlike his image, not a visionary reformer but rather a classic Chicago machine pol who thrives on rewarding himself and his friends with the spoils of public office, and who uses his position to punish his enemies.

  • Chapter 1 - A childhood of privilege, not hardship:
  • First lady Michelle Obama told the Democratic National Convention that “Barack and I were both raised by families who didn’t have much in the way of money or material possessions.”

It is a claim the president has repeated in his books, on the speech-making circuit and in countless media interviews. By his account, he grew up in a broken home with a single mom, struggled for years as a child in an impoverished Third World country and then was raised by his grandparents in difficult circumstances.

    Uh, not so fast…

Obama’s step-father, Lolo Soetoro, had a coveted job in Indonesia as a government relations officer with Union Oil Co. They lived in Menteng, the most exclusive neighborhood of Jakarta, where economic elites resided. Obama would later live with his grandparents in Hawaii where his grandfather was in sales and his grandmother would become one of the first female vice presidents of a Honolulu bank.

The year Barack joined them, his grandparents moved to a “sleek new 10-story apartment building” close to the prestigious prep school Obama would attend for eight years. The school was one of the most expensive on the island and was a “lush hillside campus overlooking the Waikiki skyline and the Pacific Ocean.”

All the touting he’s done about his community organizing? Obama has never lived in a black neighborhood. He chose to commute 90 miles each way daily to the housing project where he worked.

  • Chapter 2 - The myth of the ‘rock-star professor’:
  • Time magazine gushed in 2008 about Barack Obama’s 12-year tenure as a law lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, saying, “Within a few years, he had become a rock-star professor with hordes of devoted students.”

Time magazine put lipstick on a pig. Described by some faculty members as “disengaged” and “doing only what was minimally required”, Obama was the third-lowest ranked lecturer at the law school in 1999. Only 23 percent of his students recommended his classes.

The pattern of minimal performance at the Chicago campus was not an exception to the rule for Obama. In the state Senate during the same years he was lecturing, Obama voted “present” nearly 130 times, the most of any legislator in the chamber.

And during his lone term as a U.S. senator, according to Gov “From Jan 2005 to Oct 2008, Obama missed 314 of 1300 recorded or roll call votes, which is 24.0%. This is worse than the median of 2.4%.”

President Obama & Vice President Biden (photographer unknown)

Try to imagine you are Obama or Biden right now. They all but admitted they never saw it coming. ‘It’ being the Paul Ryan veep choice. And now they are scrambling on defense again to figure out what to do.

In a war, one of the most critical and important elements of strategy is to keep your enemy off balance; to keep him guessing all the time. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are brilliant strategists and fighters and they are going to win. One key factor in the Obama/Biden arsenal is their predisposition to lie. They have no compunction to lying; that makes them dangerous when cornered. But we have confidence in the voters to see through the fog of falsehood. Truth always triumphs over falsehood.

Two days ago I gave a list of several clues that give me the confidence to optimistically state Romney/Ryan will be elected on November 6th. One of those clues is the difference in crowd size at each Obama or Romney campaign stop. The Romney/Ryan crowds are huge and growing and much larger than the Obama/Biden crowds.

Yesterday, the Washington Examiner published an email message from within the Obama campaign HQ in Chicago. You will recall that crowd estimates of the North Carolina event were estimated at 10,000+. This message below pegged it 5,000 higher:

    Paul —

I just got this disturbing report: Yesterday’s Romney-Ryan rally in North Carolina pulled in an overflow crowd of 15,000 people.

There’s no spinning that number. It’s a LOT of people, and the Republican base in energized.

And that’s not all. Since the VP announcement, Romney’s campaign has brought in over 70,000 donations from his Tea Party base.

We’ve got to step up our game and mobilize our supporters — starting right now.

Donate $3 or right now to help us rally our base around President Obama’s agenda >>

Listen to what one Republican supporter said about Paul Ryan: “I love him…He’s going to excite the Tea Party and get them on board…”

We can’t let the Republicans claim the momentum. Donate $3 or whatever you can:

    Brynne Craig

    DCCC Field Director

I was trying to imagine some of the water cooler discussions there in Chicago. One that came to mind was this: “Man, what are we going to do about North Carolina! That is our national convention state. Romney is eating our lunch there! What the heck are we going to do?!!”

This article is a great example of the many articles describing panic and desperation wafting from the Axelrod tent ——-> SHAPIRO …I love it!

Obama’s America Does Not Comport With My America!

***Please note that the opinions herein reflect those of the author alone, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Mitt Romney Central.***

The evidence continues to mount and it is overwhelming! When taken in aggregate, Obama’s agenda for America is calculating and clear - to disable and dismantle America by debt, dependency and deception, one step at a time. Obama’s America does not comport to my America!

Let’s look at some of his actions in the past three years, each of which are illustrated or discussed below. Please note that this list is not complete, for if it were we would not have sufficient space for other posts. Notwithstanding, any one point herein is enough to validate an agenda of destruction. Barack Obama and those that have surrounded him are as duplicitous, disingenuous and un-American as you can be; with each hiding behind the veil of generosity and flattery and granting largesse from the public treasury in an attempted purchase of our American society (see video below). On the surface their actions may seem benign while behind the scenes their scheming to dismantle our freedoms and liberty is terribly malignant. In times past I thought Obama’s minions were just deceived by his flattery, position and power, but their actions are so revealing and overt in advancing Obama’s ideological agenda, which ideology is firmly entrenched in socialist and communistic principles, that they must be one in purpose. (Dirty Harry’s recent rant, as noted by Vic Lundquist, is simply a reflection of the disingenuous character of Obama’s campaign.)

If there is any doubt about Obama, we can study his brief and ‘hidden’ history, his writings and his associations, and therein know his ideology. His actions don’t belie his ideological heritage. In fact, his actions embrace his ideology. By removing the blinders, we clearly see who Obama really is by virtue of his associations, including but not limited to his mentoring from his friend Frank Davis (an avowed advocate and member of the Communist Party); his past membership in Chicago’s New Party (a Socialist Society); his affiliations and friendship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright whose anti-American rhetoric is as fomenting as the clerics in the radical jihadist movement; his association and friendship with Bill Ayers, a convicted anti-American terrorist; his adoption of the teachings of Saul Alinsky (the father of community activist thuggery); and his associations with other unsavory characters. As individuals we tend to align ourselves and associate with those that are most like us in principles and ideals. Each of those noted above exposes Obama for who he is and reveals the foundations of his character. So is Obama! Why should we doubt? The actions are reflective of the man (see below).

Mitt Romney’s latest ad that reveals Obama’s shadow initiative to purchase society and create greater dependency.

Obama’s continued promotion and advocacy for America’s dependency, evidenced by his untenable food stamp initiatives!

Barack Obama and his Dancing Ducks — The “ObamaTax”

ObamaCare — Here are the facts by phase as supported by the liberals:

First: Mr. Obama and surrogates vehemently argued for months that the bill (and then law) was not a tax and that those earning below $250,000 would not see taxes go up.

Second: Mr. Obama’s lawyers argue to the Supreme Court that the ObamaCare mandate is supported as a “tax.” They come right out and call it a “tax.”

Third: The Supreme Court this week agrees with Mr. Obama’s lawyers that ObamaCare’s mandate is supported as a tax.

Fourth: Mr. Obama’s surrogates are now stating ObamaCare’s mandate is really not a tax; that it is really a “penalty” or a “fee.” What is their next phase?

The Wall Street Journal published a short piece yesterday titled, “The Tax Duck”:

Editor’s note: The duck test—if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
Herewith, from President Obama on down, is a sampling of Democratic denials that the individual mandate is a tax:

President Barack Obama, talking to George Stephanopoulos on ABC News, September 2009:

Stephanopoulos: Your critics say it [the mandate] is a tax increase.

Obama: My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say I’m taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we’re going to have an individual mandate or not, but—

Stephanopoulos; But you reject that it’s a tax increase?

Obama: I absolutely reject that notion.

From the White House website, December 2009, under the headline, “The Truth on Health Care Reform and Taxes”:

As we move into the final stage of the historic push for health reform, opponents of reform are testing the age old adage that if you only say something enough times you can somehow make it true. Yesterday, we heard a new version of the old, tired refrain that the health reform bills in Congress would raise taxes on the middle class. So let’s set the record straight: First, the health insurance reform bill being considered in the Senate does not raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.

Then-House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland, July 2010: “I don’t see this as a tax.”

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius appearing before the House Ways and Means Committee, February 2012: “It [the mandate] operates the same way a tax would operate, but it’s not per se a tax.”

Office of Management and Budget Director Jeffrey Zients appearing before House Budget Committee, February 2012:

Rep. Scott Garrett (R., N.J.): If I make under $250,000 and I do not buy health insurance as I’m required to under the Affordable Care Act, is that a tax on me or is that not a tax on me? A moment ago you said there are no tax increases.

    Zients: There aren’t.

Garrett: So that’s not a tax?

    Zients: No.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi commenting Thursday on the Roberts decision: “Call it what you will.”

Watch this short video of Axelrod doing the dance with Matt Lauer yesterday. Is Axelrod sly or what? I find it absolutely fascinating how Democrats are throwing the potato around to one another as they dance around truth!

Matt Lauer, NBC “TODAY” show host: “The good news [for you] is the Supreme Court said that the mandate is constitutional. The bad news is they said they are a tax. Back in 2009, the President adamantly denied that health care reform was going to be a tax on the American people. Does he now agree that this legislation, this law is a tax?”

David Axelrod, Obama campaign: “Whatever you call it, Matt, whether you call it a mandate or a tax, what it is, is a penalty on the very few Americans who don’t — who can afford health care, don’t pay for it, end up in our emergency rooms getting free care and then we all pay for it in the form of higher premiums.”

In the opening segment of The O’Reilly Factor yesterday, Democrat “strategist” Julie Roginsky continues the dance (moon walk) as she completely dodges Laura Ingraham’s very simple, straightforward inquiries. As with Mr. Obama, Roginsky blames others including Governor Romney as she so artfully pivots, evades, and dodges each question all the while with a smile!

Remember those old westerns where a gunslinger is shooting the ground at the feet of another cowboy as he is dancing all over the place to avoid being hit by the bullets? For the next 128+ days, we will watch Governor Romney firing away at Mr. Obama and his lemmings as they toss the “ObamaTax” (coined by Hannity yesterday) potato from one person to the next.

Romney vs. Axelrod: A Tale of Two Pressers

I’m excited to mention that Rush read one of our MRC tweets on the air today. I’m not posting it here on the top because it’s part of this story. To see the tweet he read and hear the audio be sure to continue reading the story below. Thanks, Nate.

Very interesting news today has many heretofore Romney-doubting GOPers taking courage in the swift, hard-hitting capabilities of the Romney campaign. Two “surprise” press conferences were held today, by Romney and Axelrod, but only one ended up being an actual surprise. Both were dominated by the Romney camp. These events happened early enough today that they were actually discussed on Rush and Hannity today, and will certainly make your evening news.

Part One: The Axelrod press conference

    • A surprise visit by Chief Obama strategist David Axelrod to Boston was publicly announced just last night. Purpose of his “presser”: Dis Romney’s record as Governor.
    • Oddly, the short notice is somehow enough time for CNN to arrange to have a live feed available. Team Romney springs into action to round up a large group of protesters armed with big signs, and chants.
    • Romney supporters are waiting on the steps of the capital building as Obama’s advance Team arrives to set up. (Pics below)
    • Throughout the presser attention is obviously stolen by protesters as they run through a series of chants including: Solyndra, Five more months, We want Mitt, Where are the jobs, Broken record, and more. Axelrod actually responds to protestors at one point with the phrase “You can’t handle the truth.”
    • Big win for Team Romney as news reports focus on the protestors rather than Axelrod’s anti-Romney message.

Part Two: Romney holds surprise press conference in front of Solyndra

    • On the other side of the country Team Romney has the entire press corp on a bus with Mitt on board as well. The press are told only that they are going to a secret location and they will be there in one hour.
    • Less than an hour after Axelrod’s presser ends CNN (and others) break news that Romney will hold press conference at Solyndra.
    • Mitt highlights the failure of Solyndra as a symbol of Obama’s administration and calls it a huge conflict of interest by Obama.
    • Conservatives in the blogosphere and on twitter cheer Team Romney for being two steps ahead of the competition

This is one of those days that is great for following news events on twitter. I will enclose only a small number of the great tweets, pictures and videos coming from today’s events. More below the fold.

Desperation is Revealed in Barack Obama’s Leadership Vacuum (+Prediction)

On April 13th, I posted a piece in which I stated that President Obama is desperate. That was not just my opinion at the time. I continue to believe that Mr. Obama and team are in fact desperate. Of course, without a senior campaign official admitting it (never happen), we cannot know with certainty that desperation drives the president and his campaign.

There is no other reason however to explain why Mr. Obama and his surrogates so often lie and distort the truth. It is so much easier to just be truthful. Anticipating that you might judge my rhetoric about his lying as a harsh way to describe a sitting president or that it is unbecoming, please refer to these three hyperlinks for source material: Here, here, and here. So, yes, I stand by my assertion that President Obama resorts to lying often to promote his self interest (to retain power). He continues to lie because it works for the “TV voter” to whom he speaks — after all, to them he’s a likable guy. (“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”)

Mr. Obama is not known for firing the incompetent who work for him, so my predictions here may seem improbable. A little over a month ago, I predicted Mr. Obama would fire Axelrod before November 6th. I stand by that prediction and add to it my guess that he will also fire or demote Debbie Wasserman Schultz before November 6th. Why? Because, almost every wet noodle Obama has thrown against the wall is not sticking. Obviously he has no strategy. He certainly has no vision for America and he has yet to articulate why we should give him a second term.

Barack Obama is desperate. Barack Obama will increasingly become more desperate as November 6th approaches. Those of us who contribute to this site must read and research extensively. As I have done so, I keep coming across clues that seem to be driving the Obama desperation. Here are but a few (please follow the links for attribution):

Tactical Leaking for Political Reasons: This first one is infuriating. Nothing angers Americans more than a POTUS that intentionally leaks classified information related to our military operations and national defense. Space does not allow me to elaborate, but suffice to say we at MRC could write volumes on this topic alone. The Obama administration’s intentional leaking of classified military operations has compromised military sources, methods, and worst of all, the lives of patriots in service of this nation! He has broken a sacred trust. A former Navy SEAL, Leif Babin wrote an outstanding piece in the WSJ on this topic. Also, this week it was revealed that the Pakistani physician who led the U.S. to Osama bin Laden, Dr. Shakil Afridi was compromised when the Obama administration gave up his name to Pakistan; he was an invaluable intelligence source that could have been helpful for years to come — now he is imprisoned for what will effectively be the rest of his life. In all of these leaks, we have no idea how many lives may have been lost as a result of Obama’s self interest.

Fundraising Woes: We’ve all heard the “billion dollar campaign” that Obama will wage. Well, they are struggling to meet their goals. Remember, an important form of voting is how people choose to vote with their money. Democrats have restated the goal to $750 million. This week Karl Rove said Obama will be lucky to hit $700 million and most experts predict the Republicans will exceed their goals.

Wisconsin Governor Recall Election: This “clue” is huge. Democrats have all but ceded the recall to the Republicans. The unions are hopping mad and feel abandoned as the DNC has refused to send funds for the race. Of all elections held before November 6th, this could be the most influential as a predictor of what lies ahead in November as well as the future of public unions. Obama is obviously holding onto every nickel for the general election. I think the Wisconsin recall election is huge for many important reasons.

Rhetoric to Divide Americans: Democrats have used this strategy from the beginning of time, but Obama has taken it to a new atmosphere. Obama and Biden have no compunction to lie about how a President Romney would hurt the poor, take away women’s rights, subjugate civil rights, and otherwise impinge on the lives of every American — except the rich of course. Their speeches just this week included lines never spoken by Governor Romney or any person from his campaign. Obama’s and Biden’s language is increasingly harsh and inarticulate in this regard.

Many Broken Commitments: Obama has made dozens of very specific promises in recorded speeches that are widely available for replay — he knows the Romney campaign has these at the ready for when voters will be paying attention. Remember these commitments . . . a) Obama said he would never allow lobbyists to work in the White House [BZZZ] Recent White House logs have shown millions of lobbyist visits since 2009 (never mind that AG Holder and other senior administration officials were former lobbyists!); b) Obama committed to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term [BZZZ] He not only failed to keep his commitment, his deficits have exceeded all prior presidents’ combined; c) Obama promised a 6% unemployment rate [BZZZ] No first term president in modern history has been reelected with the unemployment rate above 7.4%; d) Obama several times promised “transparency” in the White House by committing to place negotiations, facts, and details online and C-Span [BZZZ] Never happened, even once. (I could list several dozen more)

Deep Mining for Dirt: Liberal surrogates of Obama’s (yes, including the mainstream media) had to go back almost 50 years in their attempt to smear Gov. Romney’s reputation. Then, when publishing the piece, The Washington Post places it on the front page, at nearly book length! The story was hyped for days by all of Obama’s surrogates until they were effectively laughed to scorn when forced to consider Mitt Romney’s life in totality and a reputation above reproach. Of course, the mainstream media ignores all the background of Mr. Obama’s character building youth, only 30 years ago.

Several Weeks of Bad News: Economic news emerging is lackluster and now there is news of a highly probable worldwide recession next year.

National Polling: Mr. Obama, as incumbent, should be well ahead of his challenger in the polls at this point in the general election cycle when considering the fact that Gov. Romney just finished a tough, bruising primary battle. The entire nation knows President Obama. Relatively few voters know much about Gov. Romney and yet the are neck and neck in the national polls. That is not a good sign for the incumbent. For some perspective: At this point of the race in 1980, Carter the incumbent was double digits ahead of Reagan the challenger.

Obama the Frugal President: This week, Mr. Obama and his surrogates announced that under his administration, federal spending has been the lowest of any president in the last 60 years. Many pundits have literally laughed at a) the obvious manipulation of the numbers, and b) the fact he was able to say it with a straight face. Charles Krauthammer referred to Obama’s assertion as, “the biggest whopper of the year.” Our Ryan Hawkins (CPA) helped expose Obama’s sleight of hand with the numbers in this excellent post. Compare Obama’s policies with those of Francois Hollande’s of France in this Forbes piece and see if you don’t agree that Mr. Obama’s agenda is not socialist.

Attacks on Capitalistic Enterprise: Obama, Biden, and many surrogates have been intensely criticizing Bain Capital while ignoring its 80% success rate and the fact that Bain extended the lives of failing companies (and jobs) for many years before some went bankrupt (~5%). Obama said this week he is doubling down on this tactic (what about Obama’s record with “investments”?). Democrats however continue to criticize Mr. Obama. Consider this quote from Heidi Heitkamp, a former North Dakota attorney general seeking to replace the retiring Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), who told the AP:

[…] that Obama has “failed in the one test America had for him, which was to unite the country.” and she added, “I think he needed to be more hands-on… I don’t think he’s done enough to think broadly and come up with solutions that would engage both sides in a reasonable dialogue.”

In this 25 second video clip, Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, said this:

This one minute video below documents the other Democrats and liberals voicing their opposition to Obama’s attacks on the free enterprise system:

Governor Romney had this to say below about Obama’s latest attacks on the economic system that made America great and brought literally millions of people out of poverty in this country:

In this 29 second clip, Axelrod wanders off the reservation and actually seems to be promoting Governor Romney’s vision for America! Watch Axelrod’s eyes and hand. As he is trying to drive home his point that Obama’s economic policies are the best pathway, it seems that he is trying to convince himself as much as he is trying to convince the viewer. He no more believes what he is saying than the rest of us do!

As you keep up on presidential politics reading newspapers, new media, cable television, etc., keep an eye out for these clues telegraphing Obama’s desperate political posture. Sometimes it is just visceral. Sometimes you will pick it up in the body language or changes in the person’s voice inflection and nervous tells. I am seeing a lot of these in Axelrod lately. Have you noticed lately that President Obama is smiling a lot more than usual? Why would that be do you think? I believe it is a desire to cover his feelings of insecurity and the knowledge he has that he really does not understand how to lead as an executive.

Every time we pass a home foreclosure sign, pull up to the gas pump, grab a grocery cart, or grapple with monthly bills, we’re gut-punched with the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression.

Polls show approval for America’s gutter-sliding direction is way down.

    That rattles Obama.

The Obama economy is not a winning referendum and many a ‘time we’ve seen how adoration loss sends the President and buddies into a tizzy.

Obama and operatives are digging deep. Their politicking has turned into a mud grab and they’re pelting fast and furiously at Mitt Romney.

Which conjured-up fetid glob will stick? A ridiculous hit job report about a 50-year-old incident that allegedly took place when Romney was a teenager? Romney hates dogs? Romney is waging war on women? His wife never worked a day in her life? She’s like Hitler? Greedy, out-of-touch, corporate raider Romney?

The latest slime comes in the form of a new Obama ad portraying Romney at Bain Capital as a job-destroying vampire. It’s the first attack on Romney’s business record:

The ad, at the unusual length of two minutes, will run in five battleground states—Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado—and is part of a larger $25 million, monthlong ad campaign. Republican officials tracking the ad buy said the Obama team was only airing the two-minute spot on Wednesday in the five states. The ad was expected to air during the evening news and direct viewers to an Obama website about Romney’s economic record and a longer, six-minute version of the ad appearing online.

The commercial will be coupled with a series of events Obama’s campaign is holding this week in Florida, Missouri, Iowa, Nevada and North Carolina to highlight Romney’s role at Bain Capital, a company he co-founded. Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said in a call with reporters that Obama’s team would highlight Romney’s Bain record “during next few weeks.”

Surprise! The ad is not accurate:

That picture is not accurate, as Mike Flynn reports today in an article on Bain Capital shut down GST Steel in 2001, two years after Mitt Romney left the company to accept the job as CEO of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Flynn reports the key decision-maker at Bain Capital, when GST Steel was closed, was Jonathan Lavine. Lavine is an Obama supporter and bundler who raised more than $100,000 for the president’s reelection campaign. Lavine started working for Bain in 1993.

Even Steve Rattner, former Obama adviser, says Obama’s new ad is sludge:

It [Bain Capital] did it superbly well, acting within the rules, acting very responsibly, and was a leading firm,” Rattner noted. “I do think to pick out an example of somebody who lost their job, unfortunately, this is part of capitalism, this is part of life. And I don’t think there’s anything Bain Capital did that they need to be embarrassed about.”

The ad cost around $83,000. If the mud ball sticks, Team Obama will buy more air time (dip into some of that $15 million Hollywood/George Clooney money).

Romney’s campaign welcomes the attention on jobs:

“Mitt Romney helped create more jobs in his private sector experience and more jobs as governor of Massachusetts than President Obama has for the entire nation,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in a statement.

Romney for President blocked the Obama gunk with a new web video ‘American Dream’:

The investment that Mitt Romney and others made in Steel Dynamics helped to grow the company and create jobs. For the workers of Steel Dynamics, this is a perfect example of the American Dream.

A mud bomb thrown today is so lame it plopped on the thrower’s shoes even as it was flung from his hand:

“Romney wants to create the illusion that somehow his experience equips him to lead the economy but there’s nothing about the record that would support that.” - David Axelrod, Obama campaign Senior Adviser

Thanks for the belly laugh, Axelrod!

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Ed Conard, a former Bain Capital business partner with Governor Romney, says Romney has a “deep understanding” of the economy:

Mitt Romney understands how the economy works and he is ready to focus on long-term growth by encouraging private investment in innovation, author Ed Conard told Newsmax TV.

Conard, a former partner in Romney’s Bain Capital, is the author of “Unintended Consequences: Why Everything You’ve Been Told About the Economy Is Wrong.” In the book, he argues that the Obama administration has discouraged risk-taking, with the result that the economic recovery is stuck at a snail’s pace.

He told Newsmax TV the Obama administration has discouraged investment by trying to penalize the wealthy and successful.

    Conard continues:

“They threatened all the successful risk-takers with much higher taxes,” he said.

Romney, on the other hand, is an experienced businessman who knows how to look at the big picture, said Conard. He praised Romney’s leadership skills at Bain.

He made tough decisions when he had to make tough decisions. And he always made them with the highest level of integrity, which was aiming at what is the most valuable in the long run,” Conard said.

Conard comments on liberals’ view of the economy:

…[L]iberals still see the economy as it was back in the 1950s, not as it is now. And the current reality, he says, is that people with big ideas need investors with deep pockets.

The people who need to take risks are the most talented people in the economy,” he said. “People who have a lot of equity have to start underwriting risk with that equity.”

He said conservatives, unlike liberals, understand the importance of equity. “We don’t want to take that equity, redistribute and consume it.

Conrad said Romney is an extraordinary executive:

“He has a deep understanding of business. He has a deep understanding of the economy. He had one objective, and that was to dig down and find the truth. … He worked hard to build consensus…”

    Obama would be thrilled if we forgot he was a drug-using, Bill Ayers-fraternizing, community organizing, ‘present’-voting, now school record-hiding, trillions in debt-amassing, triple AAA rating-losing, illegal immigrant-excusing, un-read bill-passing, foreign leader-bowing, “I’ll get back to you Medvedev-ing”, crony-capitalizing, cornhusker kick-backing, class envy-stoking, job-losing, food stamp-increasing, opponent donor name-publishing, vacation-taking Golfer-in-Chief.

Mud slinging is Obama’s only defense.

Mitt Romney believes in the American Dream and is uniquely qualified to keep it alive.

    That rattles Obama.

    Romney’s Dog? Vacation - Obama’s Dog? Dinner

My, how quickly the dog dish turns…

The Obama campaign, trying so desperately to wag the tail in any direction but the president’s record, keeps trying to target Mitt Romney by injecting the old, 2007 presidential campaign “Seamus the dog” story. (Rick Santorum has also gone there.) In fact, on January 30, 2012, Chief Obama strategist David Axelrod tweeted about it. He included a photo of Obama riding in his car with his dog, Bo:

Diane Sawyer also dredged up the Seamus story while interviewing Mitt and Ann on Monday:

Turns out, Obama has nothing to bark about. An overlooked detail has come to light in Obama’s book Dreams from My Father (which he wrote) in which he reveals…

He, Obama, has eaten dog meat:

I learned how to eat small green chili peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy).

Upon discovery, Romney adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom tweeted today:

In hindsight, a chilling photo RT @davidaxelrod: How loving owners transport their dogs.

Hat tip to MRC chatter ’emsk’ for a look at the reaction this morning from the crew on MSNBC’s Morning Joe:

    Don’t you love it?!

Jim Treacher (The Daily Caller), who discovered Obama’s bow-wow detail yesterday, writes:

“So what? It was a long time ago,” you say. “He [Obama] was a lot younger. Customs are different there. He was just doing what his stepfather told him. …

Hey, whatever you have to tell yourself, libs. Say what you want about Romney, but at least he only put a dog on the roof of his car, not the roof of his mouth. And whenever you bring up the one, we’re going to bring up the other.

It’s no fun when we push back, is it? That’s why it’s so much fun.

Update: I know the Secret Service has a lot to deal with right now, but are they protecting Bo? From Obama, I mean.
Update: Obama would never put a dog on top of a car. Dries out the meat.
Q: What does Obama do when his dog gets stuck?
    A: Grabs a toothpick.

Treacher’s article has lit Twitter on fire; a new hashtag has surfaced: #ObamaDogRecipes. In response, here’s a few of the best tweets (hat tip to MRC chatter ‘Patsy’):

That’s what happens when one keeps bringing up trash…

    Obama’s Rage!

Perspective matters - especially in striving for constancy in politics amid the contrary seas and boisterous winds of the mainstream media. I am often asked by friends, “how can you be so sure, didn’t you hear [or read] about…?” My response is always, consider the source and understand the agenda. The mainstream media has one agenda, support and secure the re-election of Barack Obama. Anything they print or state is driven with that in mind, whether in suppressing the news, cutting short a story hopeful for irrelevance, i.e., the recent Hilary Rosen meltdown (as soon as she gave her backhanded “apology’ the media was done and onto the next story), or undermining Mitt Romney. The Obama media and public relations team, the mainstream media, is waging a campaign of division, derision and destruction with one goal in mind – protect Obama. Obama appears to abide by the philosophy of a former business colleague of mine; the only good competitor is a dead competitor. History bears this out in his previous Chicago campaigns. That said, we must always consider the source and respective motivations of the counterparty and respond, not in like mind, but with truth, reason and accountability. Again, perspective matters and it is what keeps Mitt Romney constant in the inconstant world of Presidential politics.

When considering the current general election, perspective matters even more. Contrasting the 2008 and 2012 elections, we can see a stark difference in Barack Obama’s strategy. In 2008, it was all about prospective hope, change and unifying America’s divide. He ran a tremendous campaign, driven on positive messaging and what could be – remember, the oceans will cease to rise and the earth will begin to heal under Obama’s leadership. However, 2012 is a far cry from 2008. In 2012, Obama’s campaign is based upon the opposite of hope – fear, and anything derivative of fear is destructive. It was Obama’s own campaign that set the agenda, “k***” Romney, or more politely, destroy Romney’s character. The tweets have been innumerable, the sound bites derisive, the press releases unbelievable, but in all cases, the agenda is clear: search and destroy. Why the venom? Why the vitriol? Why the anger?

Surely, we can turn to the lack of achievement, and in fact the failing at every level of Obama’s three years in office – but he doesn’t feel that way, or does he? His argument is that his administration has made tremendous strides; after all, look at where the economy is today and where it was in 2008. From our vantage point it has been abject failure, from his, great success. And yet, he isn’t touting his successes; he is only tearing down conservative values and the presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney. Comparatively, Mitt Romney’s campaign is running a positive, civil, contrasting and measured message – always emphasizing accountability and solutions for a failed Obama administration and its destructive policies. A principal difference in Mitt Romney’s message from Obama’s of ‘08 is that Mitt Romney can deliver with competence, experience and a proven track record of success.

So what has changed for Obama this time around? What is it that you can see in David Axelrod, Jim Messina and others who surround Barack Obama? Just take a moment and listen to what they say, and how they say it – look into their eyes and it becomes apparent. [Reference Jayde Wyatt’s previous Post] Clearly, the Obamas and those who advise the President have tasted of the power, the position and the influence in society of the office of POTUS; they have experienced what few ever will, and in their experience they have fallen prey to the corruptive and possessive nature of power. It has been said that the fear of losing the office of POTUS is far greater than the want to secure it. Therefore, the driving force of the 2012 Obama campaign is FEAR. FEAR is the foundation of Obama’s rage! When the foundations of a campaign are born in negativity and fear of loss; when a campaign has lost sight of purpose and service, and is relegated to self-interest and ideology over Constitutional principle, it distills into a dark abyss. Such is the Obama campaign. However, it doesn’t mean that it will dissemble easily or even self-destruct, in fact quite the opposite; it means that it will be ever more resolute and vicious – to protect the office holder and those who surround him. Katy bar the door, as it will be a brutal process. Even so, truth trumps fear, and principled leadership overcomes adversarial attacks, with patience, perspective and perseverance.

The Romney campaign has one of the brightest and most capable leaders in our lifetime to carry the title of liberty and restore our hope for what matters most, the preservation of our freedoms and the opportunity to achieve the American dream. Mitt Romney understands the basis of Obama’s rage; he and the campaign have the needed perspective and capacity to wage an aggressive battle to counter the fears of one man’s loss. Not to say it will be easy, it won’t, and will require all that we have to win the day. The price is worth it, as our very freedoms are at stake. It is now or never, and in the midst of the battle, we must adhere to truth amid the lies and distortions of President Obama.
