The Prayer of Faith — IN GOD WE TRUST

Dan Olsen is a good friend of many years whom I know to be a man of God, and a faithful husband and father. I am grateful to him for this invitation (please also see Billy Graham’s request for prayer).

Does anyone doubt that a political campaign is a battle? Obviously, the foreign policy debate this evening in Boca Raton, Florida will be yet another crucial encounter in the battle for the Presidency. Governor Romney and the President are not fighting for their lives, as four brave Americans recently did in Lybia, but they will be fighting for the hearts and minds of America’s citizens – and the outcome of that battle will have a major impact on all our lives.

Our next Commander in Chief will need to continue the fight against those who would destroy America. He will be responsible for protecting us from enemies foreign and domestic. He will be responsible for those who risk their lives for our liberty. I am confident that Governor Romney is the best man for that job.

On this day of the final great presidential debate, an appeal to a higher power seems essential. Prayer seems essential. Challenges such as America has, and as our next President will have, require trust in ourselves and trust in God. Whatever our faith, an appeal to God for His blessing can only help.

With this in mind, I renew Paul Johnson’s invitation from the second Presidential debate, that “we ask that God extend his grace for the protection and safety of our troops, to strengthen Governor Romney, that he will benefit fully from his preparation, that he will have clarity of mind, that he will recall the facts needed to make his case, that he will clearly make his arguments and rebut unfair criticism, that his audience will understand, and that those hearing Governor Romney will listen with an open mind and be willing to hear.”

Billy Graham Makes Plea to All Americans to Support Candidates with Biblical Values

For those who are not aware, Billy Graham has been known as the spiritual adviser to many presidents beginning with President Dwight D. Eisenhower. As far as I know, Billy Graham has met with every president since Eisenhower to provide spiritual counsel and to pray with and for them as they serve in the highest office in the land.

A little over a week ago, Evangelist Bill Graham hosted Governor Romney in his home with his son.
