BOOM! Romney Refutes Obama’s LITANY of LIES (Felon?!) New Ad

New lows from Obama…

Deceptions once lobbed through Obama’s presidential peashooter are now coming fast and furiously through misinformation missiles – aimed at Mitt Romney.

Remember Obama’s Scheme Team memo last summer to kill Mitt Romney? They weren’t kidding. Here are the latest character assassination slams from Obama’s lie launchers…

Slam! Today we’re hearing from Nancy Pelosi and liberal talking heads that Governor Romney engaged in race baiting yesterday while speaking to the NAACP. (The avalanche of positive reviews for that speech has obviously rattled them.)

Slam! Now Romney could be a criminal. Yes, we could be supporting a felon! (*eye-roll*) From lie-launcher Stephanie Cutter (Obama Deputy Campaign Manager):

In a conference call with reporters this morning, the Obama campaign focused on this morning’s Boston Globe story arguing that Mitt Romney remained at Bain through 2002. The Romney campaign has called the story “not accurate.”

“Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investment,” Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter asserted.

“If he was lying to the American people,” she added. “then that’s a real character and trust issue that the American people need to take very seriously.”

“If he’s legally responsible for everything that happened inside those Bain deals, seems to me that he’s also politically responsible for the consequences of those deals in terms of people losing their jobs, losing their pensions and their health care, and American jobs being shipped overseas,” she said.

Slam! Cutter also reiterated the too-stupid-for-words claim that Governor Romney is the most secretive presidential candidate since Richard Nixon. Another attempt to define The Gov by invoking a name attached with great scandal… Yes, the Obama lie launchers have obviously memorized the Alinsky playbook.

Slam! In pre-emptive worminess to negate positive press coming Romney’s way from his attendance at the summer Olympics in London in a couple of weeks, Cutter tried to get some bang with this one:

Cutter also took a swipe at his work related to the 2002 Olympics, commenting that Romney’s Olympic record was “less than wholesome, shall we say, in terms of the decisions that were made there, the contracts that were signed, and the basic operation of how Mitt Romney ran the Olympics.”

Slam! Obama’s lie-launchers are not giving up on the Romney is an outsourcer meme, either.

Yes, Ms. Cutter. LYING is a real character and trust issue the American people need to take very seriously. The fact that you and your boss are deceiving America IS BEING TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY. So, stand back liars! Romney and team are firing back with explosions of TRUTH…

BOOM!

In a conference call Monday morning, senior staff said Romney’s surrogates would stop shying away from the word “lie” in responding to Democrats’ attacks on his business record, and plan to go on TV to call Obama a “liar,” the source said.

They are very fed up with these attacks,” said the source.

To spread the message, the source said, the campaign is going to start circulating a document to press that compiles “presidential falsehoods and exaggerations.”

BOOM!

BOOM!

The Romney press shop today released ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER OBAMA CAMPAIGN FALSEHOOD:

“The Obama campaign must think Mitt Romney is Superman. He was, in reality, rescuing the Olympics by working in Utah 24/7 for the years the Obama campaign also alleges he was running Bain Capital. Even though the Obama campaign may be wrong about his involvement in Bain Capital, it shows that even they can admit Mitt Romney is a great leader.”Former Governor John Sununu

Today, The Obama Campaign Launched Even More False Attacks On Governor Romney’s Business Career:

Today, The Obama Campaign Falsely Alleged That Governor Romney Was Managing Bain Capital After February 1999. “The Obama campaign said a Boston Globe report Thursday proves Mitt Romney hasn’t been truthful about when he left Bain Capital. The Globe story cites SEC filings to prove Romney stayed on as head of Bain Capital after 1999.” (Pema Levy, “Obama Camp: Romney ‘Wasn’t Telling The Truth’,” Talking Points Memo, 7/12/12)

Multiple Non-Partisan Fact Checkers Have Already Confirmed Mitt Romney Left Bain Capital When He Actually Did – In February 1999:

“The Massachusetts-Based Firm Notes That Romney Retired More Than 13 Years Ago.” (Steve Peoples, “Bain Capital Defends Record In Light Of Criticism,” The Associated Press, 5/16/12)

Romney on Hannity Radio: “Obama Attacks Deflect From Issues Nation Faces” / Five-Step Jobs Plan

Sean Hannity welcomed Governor Mitt Romney to his radio program yesterday to talk about an article released yesterday by the Romney press team titled The Truth Hurts. For weeks Obama and surrogates have been telling lies about Romney’s record; this fact-filled article debunks Team Obama’s despicable distortions and fabrications.

Romney called in from Grand Junction, Colorado; you don’t want to miss this excellent interview:

A few highlights from Romney…

@ 2:19 - The challenge for this president is in a lot of respects he’s an old-style Democrat; the old liberals were always in favor of more government programs, more spending, more borrowing when things were difficult. And, we’ve found that has not worked. The right course for America is not to raise taxes on people, not to go out and borrow excessively, but instead to live within our means and to have tax policies that encourage job creators and small businesses to grow their business and add employees.

@7:30 - I have a five-step plan to see jobs recover in this country.
1. Take advantage of our energy resources – oil, coal, gas, renewables.
2. Open trade – particularly in Latin America and crack down on China when they cheat.
3. Put us on track to have a balanced budget.
4. Make sure we have schools and training programs that prepare us for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
5. Restore economic freedom in this country. The taxes, the regulations, the burdens applied by government are crushing economic freedom, are crushing entrepreneurs. That has to end. We have to restore the American dream or our economy will stay in the doldrums.

@9:45 – …I would make the Bush tax cuts permanent, but then go to work to reform our tax code altogether

@11:28 – Isn’t it amazing that the President of the United States – who by the way, called me and congratulated me when I got a pretty good lock on the nomination – he called me and said, “The country is going to benefit by an honest and important debate on the future direction of the country.“ That’s what he said. And yet, what he has done has been one attack after the other on items that deflect interest from a real debate on the issues the nation faces. This most recent one suggesting that I would engage in something that is illegal, that is criminal, that I would hide assets and not pay fair taxes, not pay the taxes that are owed - I mean it’s unbelievable. He said, “Well, it’s a matter of transparency.” Well, how about the transparency of a president who through executive privilege is preventing the American people from finding out what happened in the Fast & Furious program? If there is transparency that needs to be condemned here it’s the lack of transparency in his administration to let the American people know what has happened in a scandalous activity known as Fast & Furious. So Sean, I can assure you of this – I have followed the law, I have paid my taxes as due, I have also disclosed through all the requirements of the government every asset which I own – fairly and honestly – recognizing, of course, not to do so would be not only wrong, but illegal and criminal. It is this president however, that must explain why he has resorted to executive privilege to hide from the American people the truth about Fast & Furious.

UPDATE - After delivering his speech today to the NAACP, Romney was interviewed by Neil Cavuto (FOX News). The Hill reports:

Romney also discussed the state of the campaign, downplaying concerns voiced by some Republicans that his campaign had not been aggressive enough in combating attacks from Democrats. But Romney said his campaign was better served by trying to focus on issues they saw as relevant to voters.

“I respond to the attacks that come, but they say in politics if you are responding, you are losing,” Romney said. “I think the better course for our campaign is to respond to the attacks as being completely off-base. People are tired of this petty attack that comes from politicians and they want to see someone who talks about the issues they care about.”

Romney also dismissed calls from the Obama campaign to release additional years of tax returns, calling the issue a distraction. The Obama campaign issued a new commercial Wednesday calling on Romney to disclose more information about his financial holdings.

The Democrats are always going to be critics,” Romney said. “We have released all of the financial statements required by law and two years of tax returns. The most recent year we will be releasing as soon as that’s prepared. Tax information is there, other financial disclosure is there; the same level of information that [Sens.] John McCain [(R-Ariz.)] and John Kerry [(D-Mass.)] for that matter released when they were running for president.

Private Equity Deceptions?

Bewildered or Deceptive?

The failure of President Obama and his advocates, including the mainstream media, to understand economics 101 is distressing to say the least. Whether it is intentional duplicity, guile, or dishonesty on his part, or just plain ignorance because he doesn’t understand – it is disconcerting and frightening that our President would be so irresponsible as to lead American’s astray from truth!

Recent attacks against free enterprise and private equity by Barack Obama and his apologists are the tip of the iceberg and reflect an underlying agenda that is alarming. Even so, let’s address the attacks with substance and truth. The attacks are seeking to vilify the free enterprise system, private equity investors, and specifically Mitt Romney because of his business success. Barack Obama wants to disparage those who have been successful in business and fails to realize that rising tides float all boats. It is the foundation for his class warfare argument! Truth is, if we do not have a successful free enterprise system, no one, and I mean no one benefits. If we disrupt the balance and supplant the free enterprise system with government, we all lose and the middle class will disappear - in fact, we will elevate the impoverished. It is in our free enterprise system, and it’s success, that we overcome poverty. Why else have we seen nations around the world, even socialistic and communistic nations, adopt free enterprise? Within this context, free enterprise and private equity are synonymous.

Private equity in its simplest form is the foundation of free enterprise and economic markets. Anyone who invests capital directly into a business with a hoped for economic return is engaged in some form or degree of private equity. Whether you are Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, the owner of a small business selling jewelry out of your home, or a large private equity fund, you invest time and capital into building a business and making it successful – this is basis for the private equity markets. Interestingly, you may not even be aware that you are a private equity investor. If you have pension or retirement funds (IRA or 401k) and are invested in the debt or equity markets, you are participating in private equity investments in one form or another; if you have donated to a charity or not-for-profit you may be, tangentially, a private equity investor; it is only a matter of degree. Private equity investors are individuals, pension funds, charitable funds, educational foundations, governments, corporations, etc., each of whom provide capital to build and sustain free enterprise markets and businesses. That said, no one invests their money with an expectation to fail, only to succeed; and success comes with sustainability and a return of capital and then some. The role of government is not to constrain these markets, but to encourage and expand them. For in such we see the ‘private equity multiplier effect.’ The ‘private equity multiplier effect’ is most easily seen in job creation, wealth creation and innovation.

Mitt Romney creates billions of dollars for others

Mitt Romney’s self-made business successes have come under attack from President Obama. We read that his success has created personal wealth estimated at $350+ million. What isn’t discussed are the billions of dollars of wealth created for so many others. What Mitt Romney garnered in wealth from his business success is nominal compared to what he has created for so many others, including pension fund and retirement accounts for many Americans, charities, employers, employees, individual investors and shareholders, and businesses. If one understands the multiplier effect of wealth creation, this means that in his career, Mitt Romney has had a profound and extended impact in the lives of innumerable Americans – far beyond the 100,000 jobs created in and as a result of his work.

The President of the United States has available to him the full resource of the United States. He has access to the brightest and most capable economic minds on the planet, and yet he doesn’t understand basic economics? He doesn’t understand the private equity multiplier effect? Or, he does and deliberately seeks to misinform the public? Either way, it is irresponsible and/or dishonest! The President of the United States is held to a higher standard. As a people we entrust him with the burden of care and stewardship to lead with integrity. We trust him to put country above self, and not subordinate American’s to ignorance, deception and deceit for personal power or position. He has a sacred trust and stewardship to lead with integrity and truth. This is a standard that all who have been elected to public office must abide. Even so, many don’t, and neither is this President.

It has been said that the fear of losing the office of POTUS is greater than the want to secure it; and it is becoming more and more apparent that Barack Obama, and those who advocate for him, are willing to abandon truth and integrity in an effort to preserve power and position. Their want for power and position, and willingness to do whatever it takes to preserve it, is frightening given the agenda they hold to neuter and undermine America’s divine exceptionalism and freedoms.

Fundamental to America’s economic strength, and consequentially our freedom, is our adoption of free enterprise and “free markets”. Free enterprise embodies the principles espoused in our Nation’s founding documents, wherein we are empowered with the agency to choose and act, within the bounds of nature’s law. In free enterprise, we act on principles embodied in such and granted by “nature’s God”, the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Barack Obama should be ashamed!

The Silver Lining of the Health Care Cloud Over Mitt Romney

Pundit after pundit and political junkie after political junkie have pronounced Mitt Romney’s 2012 chances dead or mortally wounded by the recent Health Care debate and passage of the bill.  Democrats of all ranks (even President Obama himself) have gleefully compared their health care plan to Mitt’s health care plan in Massachusetts.  The reasons why this comparison is false are too numerous to effectively lay out here, but this, this, this, and this should get you started.  Also, kudos to T-Paw for stating the obvious that Mitt did and would’ve continued to do his best to fix health care in Massachusetts if Mitt was still governor.  However, far too many conservatives have fallen into trap set for us by the democrats and that is where the pessimism for 2012 comes from.  However, as Mark B. Lowe speculates,

All they have accomplished in the past few weeks since ObamaCare has passed is to make Mitt Romney a indispensable part of the biggest political conversation going on in the country right now. He is continually being interviewed on local and national media.  His name, face, and voice is everywhere.  TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, Internet — they are all clamoring to talk to Romney.  And what do they want to talk about?  HealthCare.  Mitt hasn’t been in this much demand since he ended his 2008 Presidential more than two years ago.   It is all free publicity for him.  The results are when people think of HealthCare and Republican, they think not of Huckabee, Palin, Pawlenty, Gingrich, or any other potential Romney rival.  They think of the former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney.  And with the national conversation firmly focused on HealthCare right now, they are thinking of Mitt a lot.  And it’s all thanks to those who wish to destroy him.

The media has pushed, prodded, and grilled Mitt since the passage of Obamacare trying to force him to make the false choice of admitting his health care plan in Massachusetts was a mistake or calling on republicans to tone down the rhetoric against Obamacare.  What democrats don’t seem to understand is that Mitt lost the 2008 nomination because the average citizen didn’t know Mitt very well at all.  Mitt spent the majority of his campaign just trying to build name recognition with the average voter, and now the dems are giving Mitt millions of dollars worth of free publicity. The more people get to know Mitt and hear how articulate he is and the strong and positive vision Mitt has for America, the more appealing Mitt becomes. Even when people disagree with Mitt on certain details of his plan, no objective person can listen to Mitt and not conclude that Mitt has the best interests of the country at heart and that Mitt is an extremely intelligent and capable leader. All of this free publicity is giving Mitt the platform to explain his views on health care in a detailed way which debates and commercials during a campaign don’t allow.  Mitt is at his best when he is allowed more than 30 seconds to explain an idea and Mitt also shines when he is under attack and has a chance to defend himself.

Exit Question: Are the dems rethinking their strategy to attack Mitt?
