SWING STATE POLL: Romney Closes Gap in Michigan, Increases Lead Among Independent Voters

Romney edges out Obama in MI

According to The Detroit News, Romney Leads by 1 point in the latest Michigan poll (a statistical tie). The slight lead comes largely from a surge of support among independents, who favor Romney over Obama by a whopping 10 percentage points:

A survey by Mitchell Research & Communications showed the race is a statistical dead heat between President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican challenger Mitt Romney, with Romney leading, 45 percent to Obama’s 44 percent.

The Mitchell poll showed a possible cause for concern for Obama. Romney expanded his lead among independent voters, who are considered a key voting bloc.

In the poll, they preferred Romney by a 44 percent to 34 percent margin. Last month, they liked Romney, 43 percent to 38 percent.

Team Obama is counting on Michigan, among other solidly blue states, to give them an electoral advantage come November. But at this rate, it looks like Michigan may be going red for the first time — in a presidential race — since the Reagan years.

    Give me a break. I DO NOT believe these bogus “statistical tie” polls out there. Gov Romney is leading at least by 20 points in every state :=)
    It is going to be EXODUS to Gov Romney ballot on Nov 6 for landslide victory!

    Gov Romney=Authentic Leader!=LOves America!

    This is good news since I keep hearing that Romney is several points behind in swing states. More good news is that Obama supporters are less likely to vote than Romney’s supporters. The enthusiasm for Obama is just NOT the same as in 2008. The cool guy that was so comfortable in his own skin doesn’t look so comfortable right now.

    Probably telling our job creators and innovators that they didn’t build their businesses has something to do with independent voter’s lack of enthusiasm for Obama. Obama will tell you that business owners need to pay back the taxpayer for the use of roads and bridges that carried their goods to market. But most people do not start businesses even with the internet and with roads and bridges. Because they don’t want to take the RISK and they don’t have a passion to build a business. That’s why we celebrate our entrepreneurs. Romney knows that government and business must be allies, not enemies. He respects the creativity and hard work of our entrepreneurs. Romney 2012!!!

    there is a theory regarding the stock market that is set to go up in the fall which may result in obamamania. We can’t count our chickens before they hatch. We desperately need to get rid of Obama.
