Mitt Romney Central - Andrew Breitbart: In Remembrance…

In remembrance

Andrew Breitbart

February 1, 2022 – March 1, 2022

We were shocked and saddened to learn today of the sudden passing of conservative activist and journalist Andrew Breitbart. While walking very early this morning near his home in Los Angeles, he collapsed. After a witness called 911, he was rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

Efforts to revive him failed.

He was 43 years old.

From his website:

With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of Andrew Breitbart.

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:
I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.

From Governor Romney:

Ann and I are deeply saddened by the passing of @AndrewBreitbart: brilliant entrepreneur, fearless conservative, loving husband and father.

Breitbart once served as editor for the Drudge website; he and Matt Drudge were friends:

In the first decade of the DRUDGEREPORT Andrew Breitbart was a constant source of energy, passion and commitment. We shared a love of headlines, a love of the news, an excitement about what’s happening. I don’t think there was a single day during that time when we did not flash each other or laugh with each other, or challenge each other. I still see him in my mind’s eye in Venice Beach, the sunny day I met him. He was in his mid 20′s. It was all there. He had a wonderful, loving family and we all feel great sadness for them today. ~ M. DRUDGE

Mitt Romney Central offers our condolences and prayers for Mr. Breitbart’s wife Susannah, his four young children, and his extended family.

  1. Tim Shaw Sr says:

I am so saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of Andrew Breitbart. He has been such an inspiration to me, as I’m sure he was been to all Patriots that believed in the uniqueness and destiney of our great nation, to serve as “The Shinning City on The Hill.” To serve as a beacon to all mankind that our Creator has endowed his children with the right of life and freedom to pursue happiness. He was a clear voice, as all the great American Patriots have been, that when intrusive government and foreign tyrants are kept out of our lives, the children of our Creator are capable of accomplishments far beyond patriots dreams.

I think about the courage of the original American Patriots who pledged their entire lives, energy and fortunes to fight the tyranny of their day, and It is so clear to me that Andrew and his fearless courage and boundless energy to fight the tyranny of our day makes him a Patriot of similar stature. I can only think this happy warrior’s Patriot sacrifice, of his whole body and soul, may have contributed to his early demise. I’ve read of his working 20 hour days for our cause to fight against those who would impose their tyranny. When we last heart him at CPAC and he spoke of his battle plans for the fall election I was filled with pride this Patriot was on the side of our great Republic.

Andrew Breibart’s name should be held in reverence with all the great American Patriots. I am sure his grand spirit will be with our benevolent Creator this fall inspiring our work to a succesful Patriotic end.

I’m devastated. A big fan of his work starting with the exposure of ACORN. He was passionate about defeating Obama. Check out his speech at CPAC just 3 weeks ago where he urges unity behind the republican candidate. We have lost an important warrior to our cause. God bless his family.

  3. Apparently I’m now old enough to not be shocked at anyone’s death; I just feel somewhat sad and confused by this. And wonder if those Obama tapes promised are safe.

Breitbart was, and is one of my heros. Breitbart was a conservative convert, and a right-brained one: creative, non-linear, not a rule abider. Such an inspiration! Has this really happened?

I met him at CPAC a few weeks ago. I have him in a video arguing with a betraying reporter on my iphone!

To those who care: we must redouble our efforts to confront the left a la Breitbart. He understood that this is a political war, but equally a culture war. WE NEED TO DE-DEMONIZE CONSERVATISM. Once the right is no longer seen as evil and uncool, the Left is done.

I commented again, just a few days ago, that I wanted Mitt Romney locked in a conference room or hotel suit with Prager, Hewitt, and Breitbart for 36 hours. I’m not sure if there’s a replacement for that trio.

RIP Breitbart. I hope you’re watching. And bless your family. And thank you!

    Peace to all.

  5. Sad news indeed. Prayers go out for his wife and children.

His work lives on and will likely influence Gov. Romney’s run against Obama.

Check out what will soon break on FOX News about Mr. Obama. Andrew Breitbart established a strong reputation for journalistic excellence, especially related to validating all sources and supporting data.

We may soon find out other reasons Obama is such a poor leader. Check this:

    Lovely comments…

I’m looking forward to seeing Breitbart’s tapes of Obama.

I was there at CPAC a few weeks ago, to hear Andrew’s wonderful “Rabble Rousing Speech” and he was in the MOMENT [as we were surrounded by the Occupy DC crowd at the time outside the Marriott]! He looked so GOOD and was so excited about the Future of our Country and taking it back for our children and posterity. It is surreal that he his now looking down on us from above from a different perspective.
When I met him in DC, last November at the Americans for Prosperity Summit; he hugged me and another dear friend for a picture [which I'll treasure]! All he wanted to do that afternoon, was to fly home to LA to be with his wife and children. He had his priorities RIGHT and the HEART of a Patriot! RIP Andrew, we will carry on the fight in your name!
