Romney’s New We-Built-It Video Features Hispanic Texan Entrepreneur

These hard-working hands built it… not government.

Today, Romney for President released a new video winner! Created in both English and Spanish, it’s a web ad titled ‘These Hands: Texas.’

Small businesses are a vital part of our economy and crucial to our economic recovery. President Obama’s comments denigrating them show that he just doesn’t understand who the real job creators are. How can he help small businesses, like those in Texas, when he doesn’t even recognize their value?

“From El Paso to Texarkana, entrepreneurs and small-business owners across Texas know that they built their success with their own two hands,” said Texas Republican Senate Nominee Ted Cruz. “They also know the damage that bad policy from Washington can do to the economy. From new regulations to higher taxes to Obamacare, the President has placed one obstacle after another in front of Texas job creators. Mitt Romney knows how to turn this economy around, and his plan for a stronger middle class is exactly what we need. Texans – like all Americans—can’t afford four more years of Barack Obama.”

High fives for Texas entrepreneur Gilbert Cantu. He represents the risk-taking, hard-working, innovative spirit that makes America great:

My name is Gilbert Cantu. I own Quality Security Products. My family came from Mexico where they started a business together working as a family. I’ve been in business on my own now for five years. We’re a mobile locksmith service that goes out to our customers to fix and repair safes and vaults, and other commercial locksmith applications. The key to success, I believe—as many Latinos believe—is hard work. President Obama said that if I own a business, I didn’t necessarily build it. That was a very insulting remark to make. I built this business.”

Ad Facts:

OBAMA:

“If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own.”

“I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there.”

“It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something.”

“If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”
- President Barack Obama, Remarks, Roanoke, VA, 7/13/12

ROMNEY:

“The idea to say that Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple, that Henry Ford didn’t build Ford Motor, that Papa John didn’t build Papa John Pizza, that Ray Kroc didn’t build McDonald’s, that Bill Gates didn’t build Microsoft, you go on the list, that Joe and his colleagues didn’t build this enterprise, to say something like that is not just foolishness, it is insulting to every entrepreneur, every innovator in America and it’s wrong.”
- Mitt Romney, Remarks, Irwin, PA, 7/17/12

Who is the true champion of small businesses and the middle class?

Mitt Romney.

Obama’s “You Didn’t Build That!” Defining Moment – Govt Supreme or Govt Subordinate?

A Clear Choice

Thank you Barack Obama for waking up America and exposing who you really are, albeit through a small crack in the window! The internet is now abuzz with pictures and commentary about Obama’s comment, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” Appreciating Mr. Obama’s statement, the contrast for America is a little clearer; for those on the fence, or those who have been wondering – they now have a better vision of the distinction between Governor Romney and Barack Obama. Even so, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If Obama talks unscripted long enough who knows what more he will reveal – keep talking!

Barack Obama – Recent Revelatory statements.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

“Yes, there have been fierce arguments throughout our history between both parties about the exact size and role of government — some honest disagreements. But in the decades after World War II, there was a general consensus that the market couldn’t solve all of our problems on its own.”

“… Even my Republican friends who complain the most about government spending have supported federally financed roads and clean energy projects and federal offices for the folks back home. The point is, we should all want a smarter, more effective government.”

Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy, where a lack of spending leads to lost jobs which leads to even less spending.”

We are either a society that empowers people and recognizes a government subordinate; a government that is of, by and for the people – or we are a society that believes government to be supreme and sovereign where the people are subordinate. It is America’s choice, and that choice is clear!

Surely there are many whose dependency upon government and want for entitlement will cause them to vote for Mr. Obama; but when we become a ‘purchased’ and/or ‘dependent’ society (in the majority) we will have lost our freedoms and liberty; we will have become oppressed, subordinate and held hostage to a failed and unsustainable society in bondage.

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years.

During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage

This is our defining moment!

Although we have known that Barack Obama believes the solution to the ills of our society is bigger and more intrusive government, his actions reveal an even more destructive and socialistic agenda. Whether in his imperialistic edicts and czar appointments that obviate Congressional and Constitutional authority; overburdening society with untenable and oppressive debt; neutering and subordinating America on the world stage; fracturing society through heightened class warfare; or creating a “purchased or dependent society” through government largesse, in each instance Mr. Obama elevates his socialistic agenda. Clearly we can see in Obama’s recent comments that government is the solution to all ills, and this will wake up many in America. However, the challenge remains whether our society will see the depth of his destructive agenda? What is clear is what Obama wants for America is not what American’s want for America.

MUST SEE VIDEO – Obama Insults Business Owners: “You Didn’t Build That!”

Insulting.

This is the video everyone is talking about today. And no, it isn’t taken out of context or edited in any way. And that’s what makes this so baffling.

I mean, this is the President of the United States here — going on and on about how American entrepreneurs are in no part responsible for their own success; rather, it was “someone else” who helped them achieve it. And “someone else” in liberal speak means the heavy hand of government. Take a listen:

Mitt responded to Obama’s foolish remarks today at an event in Pennsylvania:

“It’s insulting to every innovator, every entreprenuer in America.”

UPDATE: We now have video of Mitt’s response:
