Go Paul Ryan!

Biden: “Middle Class BURIED Last Four Years”, Couldn’t Have Said it Better for Romney/Ryan (New AD)

VP Joe’s moment of clarity!

Talk about timing!

On the eve of the first Presidential debate, Veep Joe dramatically, fiercely, earnestly spewed a truth out of his lying lips:

This is deadly earnest, man. This is deadly earnest… How they can justify — how they can justify — raising taxes when the middle class has been buried the last four years… How in Lord’s name… — Vice President Joe Biden, spreading the conservative message at a campaign event in Charlotte, North Carolina, Oct 2, 2012.

Contrary to all the lies shooting out of the Obama/Biden calumny camp, Governor Romney will NOT raise taxes on the middle class. He and Paul Ryan are CHAMPIONING the middle class AND the poor; they will kick-start Obama’s cardiac-arrest economy and create upward mobility for all.

Under Obama/Biden, 23 million fellow citizens DO NOT HAVE JOBS, one in six Americans now find themselves in POVERTY, food stamp and disability enrollments have exploded, and average Americans have lost income to the tune of $4,000. Many lucky enough to have a job are often overworked for less pay and are afraid a pink slip is just around the corner. Under spend-’n-go Barack and Joe, gasoline and food prices have flown out the roof!

Romney’s tax plan – from his website:

Individual Taxes

America’s individual tax code applies relatively high marginal tax rates on a narrow tax base. Those high rates discourage work and entrepreneurship, as well as savings and investment. With 54 percent of private sector workers employed outside of corporations, individual rates also define the incentives for job-creating businesses. Lower marginal tax rates secure for all Americans the economic gains from tax reform.

Make permanent, across-the-board 20 percent cut in marginal rates
Maintain current tax rates on interest, dividends, and capital gains
Eliminate taxes for taxpayers with AGI below $200,000 on interest, dividends, and capital gains
Eliminate the Death Tax
Repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)

Without going into specifics right now because they’re outlined on his website and because The Gov will speak more on his plan at tonight’s debate in Denver, Romney will also CLOSE TAX LOOPHOLES for the wealthy.

From Team Romney/Ryan:

The Obama economy has crushed the middle class—with more than 23 million Americans struggling for work.

Yesterday, Vice President Biden finally admitted that the last four years have “buried” the middle class.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Couldn’t Say it Better:

The only thing Biden is earnest about is deceiving Americans.

Oh… Ol’ Joe’s usage of the Lord’s name to emphasize his lie that Romney will raise taxes on the middle class? Earnestly shameful.

Joe ‘Chains-Blunder’ Biden / Does Stephanie Cutter Really Want to Go ‘THERE’?

UPDATE: Jesse Jackson’s daughter, FOX News contributor Santita Jackson, said that Biden’s remarks were “profoundly insulting” and he should apologize. Former Democrat Governor of Virginia Douglas Wilder (first African-America governor since reconstruction) also blasted the Vice President (see end of article).

Our Vice President – Joe Biden.
(Photo – Carolyn Kaster/AP)

While campaigning in Danville, Virginia on Aug 14, 2012, the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, rode in on his verbal backhoe to further dig himself and Obama into their seemingly bottomless hole. Watch the video (nearly half of Danville is populated by African Americans):

Later that same day, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell got Stephanie Cutter (Obama’s Deputy Senior Adviser) to sit down with her to talk about ol’ Joe’s mouth and Mitt Romney’s denunciation of Biden’s statement. She squirmed and obfuscated:

Mitchell: “… [L]et’s get back to the question of when you said the president agrees with the sentiments, are you saying that the vice president went too far –“

Cutter: “No, I’m not”.

Mitchell: “–and that the president does not agree with the words that he used?”

Cutter: “If you look at the entire context of what the Vice President was talking about, he was making a point that if we repeal Wall Street reform which is what Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to do, we’re going to go back to the days where they’re writing their own rules, and we saw what happened. Taxpayers had to bail them out. We had to spend billions of dollars of taxpayer dollars bailing them out. Now I would think that that, you know, that is a problem for middle class taxpayers. That would hamper their ability to take care of their own finances.”

MITCHELL: “The bottom line that the President agrees with Joe Biden’s sentiments but not his comments?”

CUTTER: “The bottom line is that we have no problem with those comments.”

Governor Romney doesn’t want to “let Wall Street write their own rules” but Team Obama believes if they hamster-wheel this lie over and over, like all the other lies they spout, Americans will believe it.

Does “Romney-is-a-felon” Cutter really want to go there – talking about taxpayer bailouts?

Hmm. Let’s talk about GM – headed for bankruptcy again? Or, how about that $535 million of vanished taxpayer money Obama showered on Solyndra?

Have you heard about A123 Systems?

It’s a green company based in Waltham, MA, that makes hybrid/electric car batteries. In 2009, A123 was handed a quarter BILLION grant by Obama. The company also received another $135 million in grants and tax breaks from Michigan. A123 also sucked up another $30 federal million for a wind energy whim. Their stock peaked at $25.77 per share. It’s now at 45 CENTS per share. In July, company officials said they only had five months of operating cash. Get this: A Chinese auto parts maker, Wanxiang Group, is investing up to $465 million in the broke company – buying A123 (owning 80% of the firm) for pennies on our dollars. Obama used OUR money to bankroll green technology which has ended up in CHINA’s hands.

Other Obama green energy companies receiving taxpayer money who have stuck it to us: Tesla – $465 million, Fiskar Automotive – $529 million, Ener1 – $118.5 million, Beacon Power – $43 million, Abound Solar – $400 million, Amonix Solar – $15.4 million DOE grant plus another $9.5 million in federal tax credits, Energy Conversion Devices & United Solar Ovonic LLC – $13.3 million tax credit, Evergreen Solar – $125 million plus $58 million from Massachusetts, Mountain Plaza, Inc. – $424,000, Spectrawatt – $500,000, Azure Dynamics – couldn’t find exact amount, but MILLIONS lost, and Solar Trust of America – $2.1 billion.

Troubled green companies for which taxpayers could be on the hook:
Ecotality
BrightSource Energy
Cogentrix Energy

A few other companies receiving Obama stimulus money or tax breaks:
Babcock & Brown,
Granite Reliable Power
Johnson Controls
NextEra Energy
Nissan
NRG Solar
Olsen’s Crop Service
Range Fuels
Schneider Electric
Thompson River Power LLC
Willard & Kelsey Solar Group

What about all those “shovel ready” jobs Obama touted to help push through his stimulus bill? Well, the shovels weren’t ready.

The half of America that actually pays taxes are on the hook for Obama’s $787 BILLION Recovery Act Bill – better known as the Stimulus Stinker DUD. He did that to us. And don’t forget, in January 2011, Obama whined and pouted for another $447 BILLION – which, thankfully, he didn’t get.

But, I digress…

Back to ol’ Joe. American Crossroads Super PAC reminded us today why Biden is good for the Romney/Ryan ticket:

Run, Joe. Run

It’s been a bad week for Team Obama.

Obama/Biden Worried About Romney/Ryan’s Large Crowds

This brought a smile to my face… VP crowd numbers (Aug 13, 2012):

Vice President Joe Biden spoke before a crowd of 660 people in Durham, N.C., at the Durham Armory during a campaign stop for President Barack Obama on Monday.

Biden’s appearance before a comparatively meager crowd came a day after the newly formed Republican ticket — presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan — rallied a crowd of over 10,000 in High Point, N.C., about an hour away, and a crowd of approximately 4,700 people in Mooresville, N.C., about two and a half hours away.

Jeffrey Bunnell, the assistant chief of special operations for the City of Durham Fire Department, provided The Daily Caller with the 660 crowd estimate, attributing the number to the Secret Service.

Tomorrow, FOX News’ Britt Hume has snagged the first official ‘single’ interview with Paul Ryan. The interview will air at 6:00 PM ET on FOX.

More on crowd sizes; “The Republican base is energized.”:

New Obama panic: Romney crowd sizes
August 13, 2012

The recent frantic email theme to supporters from Team Obama about Mitt Romney’s run-away fundraising successes has been expanded to the crowd size gap between the thousands who rushed out over the weekend to see Romney and new running mate Rep. Paul Ryan and the hundreds who cheered on President Obama.

The big worry expressed in a new email from Obama’s Chicago HQ: “The Republican base is energized.” The reason: Romney attracted 15,000 at a rally over the weekend.

The email:

Paul –

I just got this disturbing report: Yesterday’s Romney-Ryan rally in North Carolina pulled in an overflow crowd of 15,000 people.

There’s no spinning that number. It’s a LOT of people, and the Republican base in energized.

And that’s not all. Since the VP announcement, Romney’s campaign has brought in over 70,000 donations from his Tea Party base.

We’ve got to step up our game and mobilize our supporters — starting right now.

Donate $3 or right now to help us rally our base around President Obama’s agenda >>

Listen to what one Republican supporter said about Paul Ryan: “I love him…He’s going to excite the Tea Party and get them on board…”

We can’t let the Republicans claim the momentum. …

Thanks,

Brynne

Pundits & Politicians: Romney/Ryan “Bold Decision, Campaign of Substance”

America’s COMEBACK TEAM… Standing on the deck of battleship USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, VA, GOP presidential candidate, fmr MA Gov Mitt Romney and his running mate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) wave to the cheering crowd. Aug 11, 2012 (Photo – Mary Altaffer / AP)

Congressman Paul Ryan…

Welcome to the GOP presidential ticket!

This is such a great day for Americans! We need to just soak it in…

Many others recognize this historic day, as well. Here’s what they’re saying about Romney/Ryan…

BIPARTISAN SUPPORT FOR SELECTION OF PAUL RYAN:

A Good Pick” … “A Choice To Have A Real Debate” … “Interested In Bold Reforms To Save America

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee: “I’m Excited. … He Has A Sound Knowledge Of Our Economy.” “I’m excited to learn of Mitt Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan to be his VP running mate. He has a sound knowledge of our economy.” (Twitter.com, 8/11/12)

Former Representative Joe Sestak (D-PA): “I Think It’s A Good Pick … He’s A Good Guy.” SESTAK: “I think it’s a good pick for both campaigns, actually. … I served with Paul Ryan. He’s a good guy. He is a good family man.” (Fox News’ “Fox And Friends,” 8/11/12)

Club For Growth President Chris Chocola: “This Pick Sends The Message That Governor Romney Is Interested In Bold Reforms To Save America From Fiscal Collapse.” (Club For Growth, 8/11/12)

Democratic Strategist Joe Trippi: “I Think This Is A Great Pick. … I Really Think It Is A Chance To Have A Real Debate The Country Needs To Have. … A Bold Choice.” TRIPPI: “I think this is a great pick. It is a pick I would have urged Romney to take. … I really think it is a chance to have a real debate the country needs to have. Regardless of who wins it, I think Ryan helps put the issues, a lot of these issues front and center. Will make the fight on both sides on cuts entitlements and the things we need to have. That’s why I really– I commend Romney on the pick. It was a bold choice.” (Fox News’ “Cavuto On Business,” 8/11/12)

Republican Strategist Ed Rogers: “The Selection Of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) Means Mitt Romney Is Going To Run A Serious, Policy-Oriented Campaign That Highlights Differences With President Obama.” (The Washington Post, 8/11/12)

Republican Strategist Alex Castellanos: Mitt Romney “Picked A Vice President To Help Him Fix The Nation’s Business, The Economy.” “[Romney] didn’t pick a vice president to help him fix his campaign’s business. He picked a vice president to help him fix the nation’s business, the economy.” (Politico, 8/11/12)

Democratic Strategist Donna Brazile: “It May Allow Us To Have A Substantive Conversation In Terms Of The Challenges We Face Long-Term In Terms Of Getting Our Fiscal House In Order.” (CNN’s “Newsroom,” 8/11/12)

Republican Strategist Ed Rollins: “It’s A Bold Choice. Over Time It’s Going To Be An Extraordinary Choice.” ROLLINS: “I think that absolutely right. … It’s a bold choice. Over time it’s going to be an extraordinary choice.” (Fox News’ “Fox and Friends Saturday,” 8/11/12)

Democratic Strategist Carter Eskew: “But Here’s Why I Like The Pick Of Ryan. At Least He Has An Idea … Maybe, Too, Democrats Will Be Forced To Discuss Their Alternative In Greater Detail.” “But here’s why I like the pick of Ryan. At least he has an idea … Maybe we can finally have a real discussion of the Republican agenda. And maybe, too, Democrats will be forced to discuss their alternative in greater detail.” (The Washington Post, 8/11/12)

Get the idea that more than a few Democrats are sick of Obama’s lie and blame campaign strategy?

As you read further about R&R, listen to this inspiring music which reflects what so many are feeling today – ENTHUSIASM, JOY, and HOPE for our beleaguered, but beloved nation! From one of my favorite composers, American genius John Williams, here is Summon the Heroes. (Aptly named; crank it up!)

NJ Governor Chris Christie: “With Paul Ryan on the ticket this is a team that understands the economic stagnation our country has been facing the last four years and the urgency with which we need to change course. The Romney-Ryan team is uniquely positioned to make the tough choices necessary to confront our fiscal challenges and get results.”

Senator Rob Portman (R-OH): “Mitt Romney has made a great choice in Paul Ryan. He is an accomplished public servant and a leading voice on the most pressing issues facing our country. Paul is one of my best friends in Congress and someone I have worked closely with as a former colleague on the House Ways & Means Committee. Jane and I wish Paul and Janna and their kids the very best. As the Chairman of the Romney campaign in Ohio, I look forward to working with Paul to ensure that the Romney-Ryan ticket carries Ohio and is victorious in November. Most importantly, as a member of the Senate, I look forward to working closely with a Romney-Ryan Administration to restore fiscal sanity and enact pro-growth policies to create jobs.

Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) Unable to locate full statement at this time. He’s campaigning today for Romney/Ryan in Derry, NH): Pawlenty says he is excited about the pick and called Ryan a “respected leader and a bold thinker” about changes needed for the country. He added that Ryan’s roots in Wisconsin will help Romney win that key swing state. He says he’ll do all he can to help Romney win the election.

Former Sec. of State Condoleeza Rice: “Paul Ryan is a bold and inspiring choice as Governor Romney’s running mate. Congressman Ryan shares the belief that American leadership is vital to a more peaceful and prosperous world. He will help to restore America at home so that we can lead again because he understands that America is an exceptional and indispensable nation on the world stage.”

Senator Marco Rubio: “Throughout his life, Mitt Romney has made great decisions, and choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate is a truly inspired choice. I got to know Paul during my Senate campaign when he endorsed me early on when I was still considered a long shot. Paul Ryan is a courageous reformer who understands our nation’s challenges, has proposed bold policy solutions to solve them, and has shown the courage to stand up to President Obama and other Washington politicians trying to tear him down.

The Romney-Ryan ticket is going to win in November because it offers the American people visionary leadership to recapture the free enterprise spirit that has empowered countless Americans to build businesses from scratch and live the American dream. I’m excited about the visionary change a Romney-Ryan team will bring to Washington, and I look forward to campaigning with them this fall.”

Governor Bob McDonnell (R-VA): “Paul Ryan is a tremendous choice to serve as the Republican nominee for Vice President of the United States. In selecting a bold, innovative thinker, Mitt Romney has ensured that his campaign—and ultimately his administration—will be led by individuals with courage, determination, judgment, and wisdom. With this great announcement, America is on its way back. The Romney-Ryan team will get our fiscal house in order, our economy back on track and Americans back to work.”

Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA): “Paul is a good friend and one of the smartest guys I served with in Congress. He has the courage of his convictions, which is what our nation needs.”

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell: “Gov. Romney showed today that he is determined to confront a host of growing crises that President Obama has ignored. Where the current President has simply refused to act, Gov. Romney has now pledged to lead. Paul Ryan is an excellent choice, and a confirmation that Gov. Romney is serious about strengthening America’s economic future, tackling the deficits and debt that have skyrocketed under President Obama, and returning to a path to solvency and security.

Americans are looking for leadership that has been lacking on the most critical issues facing our country’s economic future. The Romney-Ryan team can return much-needed leadership from day one and help bring real recovery to our economy, reverse the damage of the Obama economy, and take a serious approach to the Obama debt and focus on growing jobs—not the size of the government.

President Obama’s term has been marked by overwhelming national debt, a first-ever downgrade of America’s credit rating, high unemployment and a disappointing lack of leadership when it comes to addressing spending. It’s time to change that, and Gov. Romney and Chairman Ryan will be ready on day one to give America the leadership it deserves.”

President George W. Bush: “This is a strong pick. Governor Romney is serious about confronting the long-term challenges facing America, and Paul Ryan will help him solve the difficult issues that must be addressed for future generations.”

Senator John McCain (R-Az): “Governor Romney and Representative Ryan are the strongest team to return America to prosperity and to defend our interests abroad. Paul Ryan has proven that he is fully prepared to address our nation’s economic challenges, which have only worsened over the last four years under the Obama-Biden Administration. I look forward to working for the election of the Romney-Ryan team this fall.”

Romney, Jindal, Peter Johnson Jr, Mccain, Trump, Sununu, Cuccinelli: OBAMA BLOWING SMOKE

“The Obama campaign is blowing smoke here…
The weight of evidence suggests that Romney did, in fact, end active management of Bain in 1999.”
– Glenn Kessler, Washington Post, FACT CHECKER

Well, we’re off to a roaring Monday!

Governor Romney appeared on FOX & Friends (via remote) and is campaigning today with LA Governor Bobby Jindal. After The Gov’s appearance on FOX, Donald Trump phoned in for his usual Monday commentary and spoke for The Gov. Sununu was on Megyn Kelly’s show; Senator John McCain did a phone interview for Romney. And, to top it off, a top Romney aide announced today that a running mate for The Gov could be named by the end of the week.

Gloves off, O-LIARbama!

Before we get to Romney on FOX & Friends, let’s listen to legal analyst Peter Johnson, Jr.’s exchange with Steve Doocy this morning (same program). Johnson spent the weekend researching the claim that “Romney outsourced jobs”:

Is there any proof Romney actually outsourced jobs? NO.

Here’s an excerpt of Romney on FOX & Friends discussing Obama’s crony payoffs vs middle class layoffs (excerpt):

Steve Doocy: “I read in the Washington Post this morning that you want to draw attention to Obama’s political payoffs versus the middle class layoffs where you say, if you are a donor to the Obama camp you are going to do just fine. However, if you are in the middle class Governor, your camp say, yo got to worry about your job.”

Romney: “There is no question but that when billions upon billions of dollars are given by the Obama Administration to the businesses of campaign contributors, that is a real problem particularly at a time when the middle class is really suffering in this country. I don’t know whether you watched over the weekend, the report that was in The New York Times about families really struggling particularly those that are single parents that are just having a hard time making ends meet. This is a tough time for the people of America. But if you are a campaign contributor to Barack Obama, your business may stand to get billions of dollars or hundreds of millions of dollars in cash from the government. I think it’s wrong. I think it stinks to high heaven and I think the administration has to explain how it is they would consider giving money to campaign contributors’ businesses.

Romney Press shop also today released President Obama Has Engaged In Political Payoffs By Rewarding Wealthy Donors And Administration Insiders With Taxpayer Dollars. Read the FACTS here.

Trump phoned in to say ‘open book’ Obama should release his college applications and records (FOX & Friends):

Senator John McCain was interviewed on today on Michigan’s Morning Show (WJIM) in Lansing, MI. He was there to discuss Obama’s broken promises (excerpt):

McCain: “This is a President that said if he couldn’t get it done in four years—i.e., restore the economy—then he didn’t deserve a second term. This is a President that’s now saying he should have ‘told a better story’ in his first two years as President? What he really shouldn’t have done is foist off Obamacare on the American people in the sleaziest process that I have ever seen in the United States Senate. You know the Cornhusker Kickback, the Louisiana Purchase. He said he wouldn’t have any lobbyists in the White House? He didn’t. He had them in the Blair House. It’s the worst thing I’ve ever observed and the American people obviously deserved a lot better than what we got today.”

Reacting to Obama’s refusal to apologize for lies being said about Romney, former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu was on Megyn Kelly’s America Live:

Sununu: “We could be talking about the 24 million unemployed and underemployed. They’re the ones that have problems. When I go to the supermarket and I talk to folks and they want to talk to me about Governor Romney – what they talk to me about the most is the fact that this is the guy that can solve the problem that their son or their daughter – who just graduated from college – can’t find a job on. They want to talk about the fact that they need a president who can solve problems.

If President Obama thinks he’s gonna escape the reality of him giving contracts to bundlers, contracts to cronies, contracts to people who are represented by former White House staffers – the money that they gave to Solyndra. You didn’t like talk about Solyndra, but it’s a FACT. The Solyndra money was given because there were bundlers involved in the investment – to the Finish car company. THESE ARE ALL REALITIES.”

BRAINTEASER – How Likely is a Tie in November Between Romney and Obama? What Would Happen If There Was A Tie?

Believe it or not, a tie is not outside the realm of possibility. Here’s how that could happen, and what the wild result would be.

As we all know, Romney has to get 270 electoral votes to defeat Obama. And at this point, the national polls average shows only a 0.8% difference between Romney and Obama. In other words, it’s a very close race at the moment.

Christian Heinze over at “The Hill” discussed three routes Romney could take to win the election. ”Route #3″ of Heinze’ scenarios has Romney winning the election by capturing about half the swing states, and Obama capturing the other half. (Romney would win Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Iowa. Under this scenario, Romney would lose the other swing states PA, CO, NV, VA, and MI.) It would make sense that roughly half the swing states would vote Romney and half would vote Obama.

“Route #3″ would result in a total score of:

 Romney – 273
 Obama –  265

But what would happen if Romney lost New Hampshire, but won all the other states in this “route?” New Hampshire has 4 votes and would lead to a grand total of:

Romney – 269
Obama – 269

A Tie!

Believe it or not, this is not an entirely unlikely possibility. Right now Obama is ahead of Romney in New Hampshire by 6.4% according to the most recent polls from RCP. That is a lot of ground for Romney to make up before November. Certainly not impossible, but New Hampshire is strongly tilting toward Obama at the moment. Likewise, VA is tilting toward Obama partly due to it having the lowest unemployment rate in the country.

So it seems to me that a tie is a pretty realistic possibility at the moment. I want to know what knucklehead decided to have an even number of total electoral votes for the U.S.? This is about as smart as having an even number of Supreme Court justices!

What would happen in the event of a tie?

This is where things get weird and start to sound more like a John Grisham novel than real life. In the event of a tie, it would only take one person out of the 538 “delegates” to switch their vote and thus decide who is president for the whole country. One person. Many states have laws that restrict delegates from switching their vote, but many states do not.

But if we assume that no delegate switches their vote, and we still have a tie, then the House of Representatives picks the president, and the Senate picks the Vice President. Right now the House is controlled by the Republicans and the Senate is controlled by the Democrats. Can you imagine a Romney/Biden ticket? Or maybe a Romney/Obama Ticket?

As one source says, if you thought Bush v. Gore was controversial, this would be even more so.

VP Talk – The Real Criterion

Recently, Romney stated he is more inclined to pick a VP who is truly ready to lead in times of crisis, not someone without experience or someone who adds “game changing flair” or excitement.

Romney’s small but illuminating criterion does much to cut through the confusion to help see which of the potential VP options are truly likely to get the job. And, conversely, which of the others are just political hot air that the pundits to fill time on their programs.

Don’t get me wrong, I love many of the new Republican stars out there who are helping to define and change the party for good. The idea of Marco Rubio or Chris Christie as Veep would be a bold and exciting move for the ticket. I think they would be great. In fact, they are my top two choices.

But if Romney is looking for someone with experience, someone the country can trust in times of crisis should Romney be unable to fulfill his duties, there are really only a couple of names that fit the bill

1) Senator Rob Portman of Ohio, and

2) Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana

(Maybe Condi Rice, but she has said quite emphatically many times that she isn’t interested in the job..)

That’s it.

All the others simply don’t have the experience or gravitas to lead in times of crisis.

Any Disagreements? The comments section is open.

VEEP MADNESS – THE FINALS!

Veep madnes Paul Ryan vs Marco Rubio

Thirty-two contenders have been whittled down to just two! Our survivors who will face-off in the last match-up of the VP tournament are Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

Here’s the current bracket with Round 4 results included:
brackets-2012-round-5

[Click on the chart to view larger version]

Paul and Rubio could not have taken more differing paths on their march to the finals. Paul Ryan’s course matched him up against 4 excellent and currently serving GOP Governors: Jan Brewer (AZ), Nikki Haley (SC), Bob McDonnell (VA) and Chris Christie (NJ). While Rubio’s route was much more varied including a Senator (Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania), a Governor of a U.S. territory (Luis Fortuño of Puerto Rico), a former Secretary of State (Condoleeza Rice), and another fellow Senator (Jim DeMint of South Carolina).

Good luck to Congressman Ryan and Senator Rubio in the last round of voting. The winner will be announced on Monday!
