Mitt Talking Points

For those of us talking to friends about why Mitt over Obama, I thought I’d compile a few talking points:

1. National Debt.

national debt

–Obama has significantly added to our now $16 trillion in national debt and has had over $1 trillion in deficits in each of his four years, after promises to cut deficit in half. Obama still has no plan, unless you count the glossy photo brochure with re-tread unfulfilled promises from 2008. Romney / Ryan do have a plan.

2. Bipartisanship.

–Mitt has been a model of bi-partisanship, which will be needed to reduce the deficit. Obama has blamed a GOP Congress for his failures.

3. Mitt’s a Model of Success.

–Mitt’s business, personal and government life are models of success. He’s actually done what Obama has promised: balanced budgets, turned broken enterprises around. Obama can’t seem to get past his own pride.

4. Four More Years?

–We have experienced 4 years of Obama. To expect better the 2d term is, by definition, insane. He knows he can’t change Washington from the outside.

5. Historically Low Employment.

–3.5 years of unemployment over 8%. If people hadn’t left workforce unemployment today would be over 10%.

6. Obama’s Work Ethic.

–Obama seems to show up about half the time (famously missing security briefings, unbelievable number of golf games). Mitt is already preparing just in case he wins the election, so he’ll be ready to hit the ground running.

7. Obamacare.

–This is our last chance to unwind Obamacare. Otherwise all the taxes, future healthcare rationing, lack of doctors and other problems will be permanent.

8. Supreme Court.

–Between 2 and 3 Supreme Court justices are likely to retire during the next 4 years, a liberal, a conservative and a swing justice. The next president will likely stack the court for a generation, either right or left.

9. Mitt Has a Plan.

–Mitt has a 5 point plan for economic success, Obama only attacks Mitt; does not have a real plan. Mitt’s plan: expand energy, build workers’ skills, cut deficit, focus on small business, promote fair trade. Obama’s: raise taxes, keep spending.

10. Stuff Obama Says (Odd Priorities; Egotism).

–Stuff Obama says: 4 deaths in Libya were a “bump in the road.” “If you have a small business, you didn’t build that.” Conservatives cling to guns and religion. He tells the Des Moines Register he has a plan to deal with immigration but wants to keep it off the record. Telling the Russian president he’ll have more flexibility when he doesn’t face re-election. I could go on.

11. Newspaper Endorsements.

–Reno Gazette Journal and a slew of other papers just endorsed Mitt.

12. Weak Foreign Policy.

–Obama’s foreign policy isn’t working; projecting an image of weakness has invited attack. First US ambassador to be killed in 30 years after security assistance was requested; the White House was alerted but did nothing while a drone watched. Stories out of the administration were inconsistent for weeks.

13. Twelve Million Jobs.

–Mitt has promised to create 12 million jobs in his first term.

14. President Biden?

–If anything happens to Obama, Joe Biden would be president.

I know there are others. My imagination tends to wane in the wee hours of the night. Add to comments what your talking points are…

The magnificent lady in red, Ann Romney, waves to a roaring crowd prior to delivering her speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. August 28, 2012 (Photo – Harry E. Waker)

Wow! Offff the charts!

Amid deafening applause, the lady in red, Ann Romney, walked on stage last night at the Republican National Convention and RAISED THE ROOF! Her electrifying, heartfelt speech elicited immediate glowing reviews. Here’s just a sample:

NBC’s Brian Williams: “A Sweeping Job…” WILLIAMS: “Emphasis on well-delivered. That was a sweeping job at that speech.” (NBC, 8/28/12)man

CBS’s Bob Schieffer: “Wow. … That Was One Heck Of A Speech.” SCHIEFFER: “Wow. Just what you said, that was a speech. … That was a fine speech. She took her own life, she took personal anecdotes and welded it into a presentation that made the point she wanted to make. … That was one heck of a speech.” (CBS, 8/28/12)

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “A Love Letter To America’s Moms.” STEPHANOPOULOS: “She said her theme was love. It was a love letter to Mitt Romney, to be sure. But also a love letter to America’s moms. And that is how she started, Matt Dowd, basically telling all those moms out there, I feel your pain.” (ABC, 8/28/12)

NBC’s Tom Brokaw: “Mrs. Romney Made A Very Strong Case, Not Just For Her Husband But Also For Why He Ought To Be President.” (NBC, 8/28/12)

CNN’s David Gergen: “In 2004, Barack Obama Was Born As A National Star At The Democratic Convention. Tonight It Was Ann Romney’s Turn.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

Fox News’ Brit Hume: “I Think That Was The Single Most Effective Political Speech I’ve Ever Heard Given By A Political Wife.” (Fox News, 8/28/12)

The Atlantic’s Garance Franke-Ruta: “I’m Not Sure I’ve Seen Better From A Potential First Lady.” “Ann Romney is giving a great speech. I’m not sure I’ve seen better from a potential first lady.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

Tampa Bay Times’ Alex Leary: “Projected Confidence And Warmth…” “The 63-year-old Mrs. Romney — with her five sons watching from a box in the Tampa Bay Times Forum — projected confidence and warmth, attributes that have made her a valuable presence on the campaign trail.” (Tampa Bay Times, 8/28/12)

USA Today’s David Jackson: “A Thunderous Ovation…” “Ann Romney appears on stage to a thunderous ovation, as the video board behind her flashes old family pictures.” (USA Today, 8/28/12)

Real Clear Politics’ Scott Conroy: “Ann Romney Making This Look Easy.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

ABC News’ Shushannah Walshe: “Impressive.” “I’m surprised about how perfectly relaxed Ann Romney seems in front of such a massive crowd. Impressive.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

Miami Herald’s Mary Ellen Klas: “Ann Romney Is Killing It – With Crowd, Applause, Charm.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

NBC News’ Michael O’Brien: “Ann Romney Making A Strong Pitch To Women Voters.” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

The Wall Street Journal’s Sara Murray: “The Floor Goes Wild.” “Mitt Romney takes the stage, and the two kiss. The floor goes wild.” (The Wall Street Journal, 8/28/12)

BuzzFeed’s Zeke Miller: “And Ann Romney Finishes To A Massive Standing Ovation” (Twitter.com, 8/28/12)

The Washington Post’s Philip Rucker: “But The Moment Ann Romney Stepped On Stage In A Radiant Red Dress, The Tampa Bay Times Forum Fell Silent.” (The Washington Post, 8/28/12)

I was thrilled to watch Ann Romney be her usual dynamic, down-to-earth self as she spoke to 2,286 delegates, 2,125 alternate delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories, thousands in the convention center, and a viewing audience estimated at 20 million. It was as if she was having a conversation with America (Luce Fortuno, Puerto Rico’s First Lady, introduced Ann.):

To hear how loud the applause really was as Ann appeared on stage click here (didn’t post this video due to distracting logo stamp).

Five highlights from Ann’s knock-em-alive speech:

1 – Romney’s work ethic:

“But let me say this to every American who is thinking about who should be our next President: No one will work harder. No one will care more. No one will move heaven and earth like Mitt Romney to make this country a better place to live!

2 – Romney’s success:

“And let’s be honest. If the last four years had been more successful, do we really think there would be this attack on Mitt Romney’s success?

But as his partner on this amazing journey, I can tell you Mitt Romney was not handed success.

He built it.

He stayed in Massachusetts after graduate school and got a job. I saw the long hours that started with that first job. I was there when he and a small group of friends talked about starting a new company. I was there when they struggled and wondered if the whole idea just wasn’t going to work. Mitt’s reaction was to work harder and press on.

Today that company has become another great American success story.”

3 – Romney’s generosity:

Mitt doesn’t like to talk about how he has helped others because he sees it as a privilege, not a political talking point. And we’re no different than the millions of Americans who quietly help their neighbors, their churches and their communities. They don’t do it so that others will think more of them.
They do it because there IS no greater joy.”

4 – Why Mitt Romney is the right choice:

This is the man America needs.

This is the man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say can’t be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair. This is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard.

I can’t tell you what will happen over the next four years. But I can only stand here tonight, as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an American, and make you this solemn commitment:

This man will not fail.
This man will not let us down.
This man will lift up America!

5 – On women:

“I’m not sure if men really understand this, but I don’t think there’s a woman in America who really expects her life to be easy. In our own ways, we all know better!

And that’s fine. We don’t want easy. But these last few years have been harder than they needed to be. It’s all the little things — that price at the pump you just can’t believe, the grocery bills that just get bigger; all those things that used to be free, like school sports, are now one more bill to pay. It’s all the little things that pile up to become big things. And the big things — the good jobs, the chance at college, that home you want to buy, just get harder. Everything has become harder.”

Full transcript may be found here.

As Colorado alternate delegate Todd King exclaimed, “People in the audience were staring at the screen, looked like they were hanging on every single word she said. I’ve not seen that with any other speaker.”

Outstanding, Ann! Just outstanding.

UPDATE Aug 20, 2012 - I thought you’d like to see some of what our neighbors to the north think of Mrs. Romney’s speech. Here is Alex Pierson and Brigitte Pelleren from SUN News in Canada (Ms. Pelleren was reporting from Ottawa):

Pelleren: Finally! We have a woman’s issue-oriented speech in which we’re not just talking about, you know, our reproductive organs. I mean, we also have brains. We also have hearts. We also have – think about the budget, we look about expenses, we try to make things work for, you know, the home, the children, and the grandchildren. I mean this is a common eperience for women.

Really, this relates to the experience day-to-day of a lot of women in America and I thought this was a very, very good speech.

MUST SEE VIDEO – Obama Insults Business Owners: “You Didn’t Build That!”

Insulting.

This is the video everyone is talking about today. And no, it isn’t taken out of context or edited in any way. And that’s what makes this so baffling.

I mean, this is the President of the United States here — going on and on about how American entrepreneurs are in no part responsible for their own success; rather, it was “someone else” who helped them achieve it. And “someone else” in liberal speak means the heavy hand of government. Take a listen:

Mitt responded to Obama’s foolish remarks today at an event in Pennsylvania:

“It’s insulting to every innovator, every entreprenuer in America.”

UPDATE: We now have video of Mitt’s response:

Romney Unplugged and Revealed (a comparative to Obama)

The choice between these two gentlemen is clear, as they are distinctly different candidates, in experience, in ideology, in capacity and integrity, and in seasoning. Although I have observed Barack Obama from afar and in the media (his advocates), I have known Governor Romney and seen him from a much closer vantage point. I know those that know him even more so, and without exception, he is as genuine, real and true to what matters to each of us. He is a valiant friend to those who know him and a caring and committed advocate for what is right. Some say he is a little quirky and/or corny, but he is who he is and stands uniquely qualified in his belief system and the principles that he espouses, to lead us as few have or can. In my experience there are certain key factors that define a great and successful leader and correspondingly, a great President. Below is what I see in Mitt Romney and, contrasted with Barack Obama, why he will be one of our finest Presidents.

Some key contrasts while applying the three constants noted in my previous post –

“Flattery and cunning words are the tools most often used to gain power, advantage, influence and control.”
“What you do speaks so loud; I cannot hear what you say.”
“By their fruits ye shall know them.”

Decision Making – Barack Obama is hesitant and indecisive, whereas Mitt Romney is decisive. It has been said that the cost of a mistake is far less than the cost borne of indecision. We have seen this evidenced during Barack Obama’s term, and America has borne the greater cost. A key to Mitt Romney’s success is his ability to assimilate information, determine a course forward and act thereon with confidence. Mitt Romney gathers information before making a decision as few can. He seems to have the innate ability to gather the just right information without gathering too much, and being able to make the right decision with appropriate foundation. While serving as Governor, a few on his staff had drawn a unanimous conclusion on a state project. When he heard their decision he queried if they were all agreed without dissension, to which they responded yes. He then charged them to bring in the strongest proponent against their position whereupon they addressed the issue and the decision was made. Mitt Romney is not myopic and pre-disposed to ignore critical or even contrary information. What he is disposed to do is make principled decisions based upon metrics and conservative values. He has done so throughout his life, both personally and professionally. Mitt Romney’s successes in business, government and philanthropy are grounded in his principled decision-making, and the disciplines employed therein have set him apart among his peers.

Wicked Smart – I can recall an instance a few years ago after returning from a business trip to China; I was talking with a friend about the trip and sharing an experience with a state-owned-enterprise that dominated the market in renewable energy turning waste into power. Mitt Romney had overheard the conversation, turned around and began to drill down on the details of the renewable energy venture. He was becoming very granular, wanting to know all of the metrics of the transaction. Such is his nature and capacity. Mitt Romney thrives on data, metrics and market dynamics as few can. His command of markets and business dynamics is like none that I have ever encountered, and I have encountered some of the top business minds around the world. I cannot see the same dynamic in Barack Obama.

Economic Experience – Barack Obama has no consequential experience in the economy and markets, whereas Mitt Romney has spent the majority of his career in the economy. Mitt Romney has garnered great wisdom and capacity as a result of his well of experience in business and economic markets. Such is what has enabled his successes in business. He questions everything and is a sponge when it comes to absorbing information; his retention is unparalleled.

Seasoned Executive/Leadership Experience – Barack Obama has had three years of first-time executive experience while on the job, whereas Mitt Romney has successfully led sizable private, public and philanthropic organizations for decades. Mitt Romney is comfortable, confident and without guile. He surrounds himself with the brightest and the best without concern for his own position or ego, and then leads by example. When the Olympic Games were mired in scandal and excess, Mitt Romney stepped in and set the standard without guile. As sponsorships and donations were waning and critically needed, he was first to make a sizable personal donation; when excesses were evident with lavish meals, he called meetings and brought in pizza; when traffic was stalled, he got out of his car and help direct traffic; when the weight of the crisis was overburdening, he clearly delineated a core path to success. To quote Mitt Romney, “the key to a successful turnaround is focus, focus, and focus.” If there was ever a time for critical focus by someone who has been there and done what is needed, it is now.

Business Successes – Given current economic climates, practical business experience would be an asset. Barack Obama has no business successes, whereas Mitt Romney has innumerable business successes. Mitt understands what it means to sign the front and back of a payroll check. Comparing Barack Obama’s public equity investments and failures to Mitt Romney’s private equity investments and successes offers interesting insights.

An interesting note not considered by many – Mitt Romney’s self-made business successes have created personal wealth estimated at $350 million. What isn’t discussed are the billions of dollars of wealth created for so many others. What Mitt Romney garnered in wealth from his business success is nominal compared to what he has created for so many others, including pension fund and retirement accounts for many Americans, charities, employers, employees, individual investors and shareholders and businesses. If one understands the multiplier effect of wealth creation, this means that in his career, Mitt Romney has had a profound and extended impact in the lives of many Americans – far beyond the 100,000 jobs created in and as a result of his work.

Juxtapose that with Barack Obama’s career and how many lives have been positively impacted by his service and dedicated effort.

Qualified – When the facts are considered, to Jack Welch, former Chairman of GE, stated “In my lifetime, Mitt Romney is the most qualified leader I’ve ever seen run for the Presidency of the United States.” Further, see the opinion/editorial by Karen Hughes, former Advisor to President George W. Bush – here.

Personal Character – Mitt Romney’s life reflects selfless service wherein he, without compensation, has served others in charitable service for eighteen years, and led the Olympics and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In fact, during his lifetime, he has served others without personal consideration or gain for approximately 25 years, while at the same time blessed the lives of so many through his business success. His family is a testament of his character, integrity and commitment to American values and principles. Those who have served with him and been associated with him – stand with him today in his aspiration to restore our nation. Barack Obama has spent his life in pursuit of his ideologies, leaving no lasting legacy that has blessed the lives of others. It has been a life of self and ideological pursuit. Those who stand with him are bound in his agenda and want to dismantle what has made America great. In fact, it is challenging the system to identify any legacy of Barack Obama besides his own self.

Ideology –
~Barack Obama has a clear agenda to neuter America’s role in the world, whereas Mitt Romney believes in America’s exceptionalism and leadership in the world.
~Barack Obama seeks to create greater dependency on the US Government by all Americans, thus impinging on our freedom, whereas Mitt Romney defers to, and seeks to restore personal freedom and responsibility.
~Barack Obama seeks to enlarge government, whereas Mitt Romney seeks to shrink and diminish the size of government.
~Barack Obama seeks to shrink the military strength in America, whereas Mitt Romney seeks to increase a strong US military, believing in the principle: peace through strength.
~Barack Obama embraces debt, borrowing and franchising the future of our children with reprehensible government spending, whereas Mitt Romney seeks to cut and cap spending and balance the budget.
~Barack Obama seeks a government solution for US healthcare, whereas Mitt Romney advocates a private solution.
~Barack Obama is not an advocate for traditional marriage and seeks to repeal DOMA, whereas Mitt Romney stands for traditional marriage, including support of DOMA. Marriage is a sacred trust of fidelity between one man and one woman.
~Barack Obama supports abortion, whereas Mitt Romney supports and advocates for life.
~Barack Obama is an advocate for liberal and socialistic type agendas, whereas Mitt Romney advocates conservative social and economic values and center-right positions.
~Barack Obama advocates a weak foreign policy with deference to global governance enterprises like the United Nations, whereas Mitt Romney stands for independence and leadership in the cause of freedom around the world, and will not subordinate or answer to other international agencies or bodies.
~Barack Obama is singularly focused on green energy initiatives, whereas Mitt Romney is an advocate for measure and pragmatism in the energy markets.
~Barack Obama advocates government/sovereign rule, whereas Mitt Romney advocates Constitutional rule.

My personal experience with Governor Romney confirms a deep-seated love for our America and the values and principles that have made it the greatest nation on the earth. He has lived the American dream, having not benefitted from an inheritance, he succeeded the old-fashioned way; he earned it (by very hard work). And yet, he was not without when it came to caring for his family, in time, resource and devotion. Irrespective of the demands on his time in business, to paraphrase Ann, when he was home, he was home. This is further evidenced by his singular devotion and love for Ann. As she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and breast cancer, he stood myopically focused on her care, attending to her every need. Mitt Romney’s capacity to apply his life’s experience to leading and restoring our nation is like none other in recent history – it is a proven track record that is tangible to each and every one of us. What he has done for his family, for his un-purchased service to others, for his business interests, for the Olympic Games, for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we want him to do for America.

America is facing a choice in November and given the current commotion and challenges before us, we must choose the individual who has a proven history of performance. In his career, Governor Romney has taken on significant challenges, while as Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the leader of the Olympic Games or as a businessman; in each case, he has subordinated his personal interest with an objective to make a profound difference for those whom he has a responsibility and duty. He has been successful in every occasion.

Mitt Romney has been prepared and fortified throughout his career of business and service. His life’s experience has brought him to this pivotal time in our Nation’s history, a time when America requires someone of Governor Romney’s caliber, capacity, and experience to lead with integrity.

Our Nation is on the edge of a precipice and in the midst of this critical inflection point, we will either rise above our challenges, or we will fall. Throughout history we have always risen above our midnight moments. Whether at the founding of our Nation, the fracture resulting in a Civil War, the Great Depression, WWII, the Cold War and subsequent fall of the ‘evil empire’, we have been led by great men prepared through life’s experience for the greater good of our Nation. America is on the edge and the challenges we face are significant, and of equal gravity to events past.

In 2008, we elected a man we didn’t fully know or understand – he was never fully vetted on the national stage. He had very little depth and experience to prepare him for the challenges of the office of POTUS. The demands of the Presidency cannot sustain on-the-job training. Even so, we elected a man that excited the masses, unknown but inspiring nonetheless. Barack Obama was eloquent and drew upon the hopes of the people – he said what they wanted to hear. We have since learned that Barack Obama has always sought for power and position where he could change the course of, and diminish America, and its role in the world. Knowing what we now know, would the Nation have elected Barack Obama – NO! Barack wasn’t the answer then, and he isn’t the answer now. He is incapable of leading our Nation because he doesn’t want what Americans want and stand for. And, at this critical juncture in our history, we need a leader who believes in America, who reflects all that America stands for, an individual who is steeped in experience and capacity to lead and restore that which has been tarnished or lost.

Mitt Romney has spent his life, not in pursuit of becoming POTUS, but in living the American Dream. He has been more successful than many could imagine, in all aspects of his life. His life’s experiences have prepared him for this time, to lead our Nation in crisis. Now is the time to elect an individual who can inspire us once again to the greater good, to the duty and role that America has been divinely entreated. Mitt Romney stands uniquely qualified to lead our Nation at a time when leadership has been absent.

An interesting comparative of experience and capacity elucidates the contrast below.

Private Equity Deceptions?

Bewildered or Deceptive?

The failure of President Obama and his advocates, including the mainstream media, to understand economics 101 is distressing to say the least. Whether it is intentional duplicity, guile, or dishonesty on his part, or just plain ignorance because he doesn’t understand – it is disconcerting and frightening that our President would be so irresponsible as to lead American’s astray from truth!

Recent attacks against free enterprise and private equity by Barack Obama and his apologists are the tip of the iceberg and reflect an underlying agenda that is alarming. Even so, let’s address the attacks with substance and truth. The attacks are seeking to vilify the free enterprise system, private equity investors, and specifically Mitt Romney because of his business success. Barack Obama wants to disparage those who have been successful in business and fails to realize that rising tides float all boats. It is the foundation for his class warfare argument! Truth is, if we do not have a successful free enterprise system, no one, and I mean no one benefits. If we disrupt the balance and supplant the free enterprise system with government, we all lose and the middle class will disappear – in fact, we will elevate the impoverished. It is in our free enterprise system, and it’s success, that we overcome poverty. Why else have we seen nations around the world, even socialistic and communistic nations, adopt free enterprise? Within this context, free enterprise and private equity are synonymous.

Private equity in its simplest form is the foundation of free enterprise and economic markets. Anyone who invests capital directly into a business with a hoped for economic return is engaged in some form or degree of private equity. Whether you are Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, the owner of a small business selling jewelry out of your home, or a large private equity fund, you invest time and capital into building a business and making it successful – this is basis for the private equity markets. Interestingly, you may not even be aware that you are a private equity investor. If you have pension or retirement funds (IRA or 401k) and are invested in the debt or equity markets, you are participating in private equity investments in one form or another; if you have donated to a charity or not-for-profit you may be, tangentially, a private equity investor; it is only a matter of degree. Private equity investors are individuals, pension funds, charitable funds, educational foundations, governments, corporations, etc., each of whom provide capital to build and sustain free enterprise markets and businesses. That said, no one invests their money with an expectation to fail, only to succeed; and success comes with sustainability and a return of capital and then some. The role of government is not to constrain these markets, but to encourage and expand them. For in such we see the ‘private equity multiplier effect.’ The ‘private equity multiplier effect’ is most easily seen in job creation, wealth creation and innovation.

Mitt Romney creates billions of dollars for others

Mitt Romney’s self-made business successes have come under attack from President Obama. We read that his success has created personal wealth estimated at $350+ million. What isn’t discussed are the billions of dollars of wealth created for so many others. What Mitt Romney garnered in wealth from his business success is nominal compared to what he has created for so many others, including pension fund and retirement accounts for many Americans, charities, employers, employees, individual investors and shareholders, and businesses. If one understands the multiplier effect of wealth creation, this means that in his career, Mitt Romney has had a profound and extended impact in the lives of innumerable Americans – far beyond the 100,000 jobs created in and as a result of his work.

The President of the United States has available to him the full resource of the United States. He has access to the brightest and most capable economic minds on the planet, and yet he doesn’t understand basic economics? He doesn’t understand the private equity multiplier effect? Or, he does and deliberately seeks to misinform the public? Either way, it is irresponsible and/or dishonest! The President of the United States is held to a higher standard. As a people we entrust him with the burden of care and stewardship to lead with integrity. We trust him to put country above self, and not subordinate American’s to ignorance, deception and deceit for personal power or position. He has a sacred trust and stewardship to lead with integrity and truth. This is a standard that all who have been elected to public office must abide. Even so, many don’t, and neither is this President.

It has been said that the fear of losing the office of POTUS is greater than the want to secure it; and it is becoming more and more apparent that Barack Obama, and those who advocate for him, are willing to abandon truth and integrity in an effort to preserve power and position. Their want for power and position, and willingness to do whatever it takes to preserve it, is frightening given the agenda they hold to neuter and undermine America’s divine exceptionalism and freedoms.

Fundamental to America’s economic strength, and consequentially our freedom, is our adoption of free enterprise and “free markets”. Free enterprise embodies the principles espoused in our Nation’s founding documents, wherein we are empowered with the agency to choose and act, within the bounds of nature’s law. In free enterprise, we act on principles embodied in such and granted by “nature’s God”, the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Barack Obama should be ashamed!

Video: High Praise for Mitt Romney 2012 from NJ Congressman Leonard Lance

New Jersey Congressman, Leonard Lance (R-07, Hunterdon Co) offers high praise for Mitt Romney as a potential candidate for President of the United States 2012. He also expresses high regard for Governor Chris Christie:

From John Celock – WestfieldPatch.com

During a question and answer session with western Union County business leaders Friday morning, Lance was questioned regarding his thoughts on the 2012 presidential race. He said he supported Romney in 2008 and stressed he and other Garden State Romney supporters would lobby Christie to consider the former Massachusetts governor. Lance also described to the crowd the reasons why he’s supported Romney in the past.

Congressman Lance (R-NJ):

“Moving forward, I think that Mitt Romney has what I would like to see in a President. I will describe it briefly:

Success – as a student – academically – graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School.
Success- in the private sector at Bain & Co and Bain Capital.
Success – in the non-profit sector cleaning up the Salt Lake Olympics in 2002.
Success – in the public sector as Governor of Massachusetts.
Success – in his personal life with his wonderful wife, Ann, and their five sons, five daughters-in-law, and at last count – between 15 and 20 grandchildren.

I greatly admire Mitt Romney – GREATLY admire him!”

Well said, Congressman Lance! By the way, as of August 9, 2010, the Romney’s are currently enjoying 15 grandchildren.

Mitt Romney 2012!
