BoJo finds London Isn’t as Prepared as He Thought

London Mayor Boris Johnson, who took offense last week at Mitt Romney’s comments that the previously-acknowledged security issues at the London Olympic games were “disconcerting,” found out yesterday just how hard it is to get all the details right.

Mitt’s statement would hardly seem controversial in the context made:

It’s hard to know just how well it will turn out…. There are a few things that were disconcerting: the stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials. That obviously is not something which is encouraging.

These problems would have been troubling to someone like Mitt, who is used to having the buck stop with him, and who of course knows a thing or two about Olympic security, having run the 2002 Winter Games without incident just months after 9/11. The head of G4S, the security contractor for the London games, had already told the Home Affairs Select Committee of Parliament the security situation at the games was a “humiliating shambles” for his company and the country. G4S’ failure to recruit and train adequate security forces required impromptu use of the UK military to fill in the gaps. One UK report indicates that up to half the security forces on the ground at Olympic park are now service personnel. Disconcerting? Of course.

Notwithstanding, BoJo and the UK media took Mitt’s sentiments and did what some of our own media and politicians do so well: distorted, diverted and blamed someone else:

There are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years…. I heard there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!”

Why did this reaction seem so natural to the US media and Democrats? Any-who, apparently Boris hadn’t checked the zip lines. The humor starts about the 0:30 mark.

Boris’ plight inspired an internet meme yesterday. (more…)

London: CNN Interview of Governor & Mrs. Romney on Various Topics

The Romneys sit down with Piers Morgan

Today in London, Piers Morgan interviewed Governor and Mrs. Romney taking the entire programmed hour. One piece of trivia: Morgan told Gov. Romney he is more English than Morgan is since Morgan’s ancestors come from Ireland and Gov. Romney’s from Preston, England. The entire interview was excellent. Following are some of the highlights of the interview.

Governor Romney mentioned two or three times he would not comment on current policies of the United States while traveling abroad out of respect for our current President. He did not mention President Obama by name.

BOOM! Romney Refutes Obama’s LITANY of LIES (Felon?!) New Ad

New lows from Obama…

Deceptions once lobbed through Obama’s presidential peashooter are now coming fast and furiously through misinformation missiles – aimed at Mitt Romney.

Remember Obama’s Scheme Team memo last summer to kill Mitt Romney? They weren’t kidding. Here are the latest character assassination slams from Obama’s lie launchers…

Slam! Today we’re hearing from Nancy Pelosi and liberal talking heads that Governor Romney engaged in race baiting yesterday while speaking to the NAACP. (The avalanche of positive reviews for that speech has obviously rattled them.)

Slam! Now Romney could be a criminal. Yes, we could be supporting a felon! (*eye-roll*) From lie-launcher Stephanie Cutter (Obama Deputy Campaign Manager):

In a conference call with reporters this morning, the Obama campaign focused on this morning’s Boston Globe story arguing that Mitt Romney remained at Bain through 2002. The Romney campaign has called the story “not accurate.”

“Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investment,” Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter asserted.

“If he was lying to the American people,” she added. “then that’s a real character and trust issue that the American people need to take very seriously.”

“If he’s legally responsible for everything that happened inside those Bain deals, seems to me that he’s also politically responsible for the consequences of those deals in terms of people losing their jobs, losing their pensions and their health care, and American jobs being shipped overseas,” she said.

Slam! Cutter also reiterated the too-stupid-for-words claim that Governor Romney is the most secretive presidential candidate since Richard Nixon. Another attempt to define The Gov by invoking a name attached with great scandal… Yes, the Obama lie launchers have obviously memorized the Alinsky playbook.

Slam! In pre-emptive worminess to negate positive press coming Romney’s way from his attendance at the summer Olympics in London in a couple of weeks, Cutter tried to get some bang with this one:

Cutter also took a swipe at his work related to the 2002 Olympics, commenting that Romney’s Olympic record was “less than wholesome, shall we say, in terms of the decisions that were made there, the contracts that were signed, and the basic operation of how Mitt Romney ran the Olympics.”

Slam! Obama’s lie-launchers are not giving up on the Romney is an outsourcer meme, either.

Yes, Ms. Cutter. LYING is a real character and trust issue the American people need to take very seriously. The fact that you and your boss are deceiving America IS BEING TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY. So, stand back liars! Romney and team are firing back with explosions of TRUTH…

BOOM!

In a conference call Monday morning, senior staff said Romney’s surrogates would stop shying away from the word “lie” in responding to Democrats’ attacks on his business record, and plan to go on TV to call Obama a “liar,” the source said.

They are very fed up with these attacks,” said the source.

To spread the message, the source said, the campaign is going to start circulating a document to press that compiles “presidential falsehoods and exaggerations.”

BOOM!

Misleading, unfair, and untrue… Romney For President today released a new ad titled ‘No Evidence’:

BOOM!

The Romney press shop today released ‘Groundhog Day For The Obama Campaign’s False Attacks’. Check it out here.

BOOM!

The Romney press shop today revealed Obama Campaign’s Top Ten Lies & Exaggerations. Highlights:

Get the all the facts here.

BOOM!

Two days ago Team Romney shared this: The Truth Hurts.

BOOM!

The Romney press shop today released ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER OBAMA CAMPAIGN FALSEHOOD:

“The Obama campaign must think Mitt Romney is Superman. He was, in reality, rescuing the Olympics by working in Utah 24/7 for the years the Obama campaign also alleges he was running Bain Capital. Even though the Obama campaign may be wrong about his involvement in Bain Capital, it shows that even they can admit Mitt Romney is a great leader.”Former Governor John Sununu

Today, The Obama Campaign Launched Even More False Attacks On Governor Romney’s Business Career:

Today, The Obama Campaign Falsely Alleged That Governor Romney Was Managing Bain Capital After February 1999. “The Obama campaign said a Boston Globe report Thursday proves Mitt Romney hasn’t been truthful about when he left Bain Capital. The Globe story cites SEC filings to prove Romney stayed on as head of Bain Capital after 1999.” (Pema Levy, “Obama Camp: Romney ‘Wasn’t Telling The Truth’,” Talking Points Memo, 7/12/12)

Multiple Non-Partisan Fact Checkers Have Already Confirmed Mitt Romney Left Bain Capital When He Actually Did – In February 1999:

“The Massachusetts-Based Firm Notes That Romney Retired More Than 13 Years Ago.” (Steve Peoples, “Bain Capital Defends Record In Light Of Criticism,” The Associated Press, 5/16/12)

Character, It Matters

We have a defining choice in November, and it is imperative that we become informed before committing to our decision; informed as to the character of those seeking the highest office in the land, for ‘character matters.’ The absence of principled character often results in negative consequences, the impact of which can seriously compromise that which matters most to our Nation and lead us down a path of decline. It doesn’t mean that everything will always go right or be easy, but in the difficult moments that come, and they have and will continue to come, character is what enables us to come through the trials with integrity, tutorial perspective and become better for the experience, individually or as a Nation. It is with principled character that we progress through trials with an ultimate positive result.

When pondering the question about who? We have to ask certain fundmental questions; for example: what are the defining and guiding principles that determine a person’s character? How and in what way is character manifest? Can I trust them to do what is right, or what I think is right. Character establishes the basis of trust; and we need to ‘trust’ our President. We need to trust him or her, to do what is right; to lead our Nation with integrity; to lead with principle and with character above reproach; we need him or her to lead with values that are consistent with our American ideals and values. We needn’t necessarily agree with them on all points, but we should agree with them on what matters to us; what we feel is important!

As we consider the two candidates for President of the United States, we should be wont to know their character; to know them as best as we are able before choosing who will secure our vote in November. Mark DeMoss, principal with the DeMoss Group, offered the following statement in his introduction of Mitt Romney when Governor Romney spoke to the 2012 graduating class of Liberty University. He said, “I was struck by the difference between knowing about someone and knowing them. You see you can know about someone simply by reading about him or her, but you can only know someone by spending time with them.” I agree with this statement completely, but it is difficult for every American to spend time with either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney. For most of us we are only able to glean insights through what we read about them, or what others might say who we have come to know and trust through personal experience, or by measuring our trust in them by and through observation over time. Another way we can come to know the candidates is by the company they keep, or observing their actions over time. Notice, I said actions, not just in the words they speak. The adage is true that states, “I can’t hear what you are saying because your actions speak more loudly.”

Why the company they keep? As individuals, or as a group, we tend to feel most comfortable associating with those most like us in key measurements; people with whom we share common values, ideals, and perspectives. We typically find discomfort being among those least like us in these key measurements. In fact, we most typically choose friends with whom we share similar core values. This point has been clearly illustrated in the current factions or divisions in our society. There are exceptions, but they are rare.

It is important that we spend time studying, reading and understanding the nature and character of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. In this regard, I am trying to remain objective, but knowing Mitt and Ann Romney personally, and having spent time with them in public and private moments, I acknowledge my bias.

Even so, there is plenty of material available to read to come to a better perspective of these two men. Of course we need to take into account (more…)

News From Michigan: Saul Anuzis Endorses Mitt Romney

Saul Anuzis, former Michigan GOP State Chairman and MI Republican National Committeeman has endorsed Mitt Romney. Sept 15, 2011

We’re very happy to announce that Saul Anuzis, former Michigan GOP Party chairman and current MI Republican National Committeeman, has endorsed Mitt Romney:

From Governor Romney:

Boston, MA – “Saul Anuzis is a widely respected leader of the conservative grassroots movement, not only in Michigan, but across the country,” said Mitt Romney. “I am thrilled to have him on board our leadership team in a critical state like Michigan.”

“I am proud to endorse Mitt Romney for President,” said Anuzis, “His singular focus on fixing our economy combined with his Michigan roots and ability to relate to the hopes and dreams of Michigan voters make him the one candidate that can and will beat Barack Obama.”

“The most pressing issue facing Michigan and America is jobs and our economy. You can look at Mitt’s experience in turning around the Olympics, putting Massachusetts on a strong economic footing while cutting taxes 19 times and his career as a conservative businessman and see that he has the skills and experience needed to be President.”

Background On Saul Anuzis:

In 2005 and again in 2007, Saul Anuzis was unanimously elected Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. In 2009, he was elected as Republican National Committeeman for Michigan, and serves as Chairman of the RNC Technology Committee.

Saul Anuzis is a regular contributor to many other right-of-center blogs, and is recognized by many as one of the most tech-savvy RNC members in the country, leading the way in the use of technology as a tool in political party communications.

More from Anuzis:

After watching the last two debates, I have decided to publicly endorse and actively work in support of Mitt Romney’s effort to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. There are four primary reasons for my support:

ONE: He is uniquely qualified to serve as President – no one is better prepared.

TWO: He can beat Barrack Obama in November, early polls showing his strength.

THREE: He is a strong leader & has a vision to make America strong & prosperous.

FOUR: Mitt Romney will make Michigan competitive for Republicans in 2012 on the day he wins the nomination.

I have watched the nominating process unfold and as I have said over and over again, there is NOTHING more important for our country and our children than stopping Barack Obama and his policies.

To paraphrase William F. Buckley, I think now, more than ever, it makes sense to support the most conservative candidate who can win…Mitt Romney is that candidate and now is the time to start rallying our forces.
[...]
However, this election is so important and the task at hand so daunting I believe only the strongest, best organized, best financed and best prepared candidate can effectively challenge Barack Obama this fall across our entire country.

Romney’s singular focus on job creation combined with his Michigan roots and ability to relate to the hopes and dreams of native Michiganders make him Mark Brewer’s worse nightmare.

The most pressing issue facing Michigan and America is JOBS and our economy. No other candidate has the knowledge and experience creating jobs and turning things around. You can look at Mitt’s experience in turning around the Olympics, putting Massachusetts on a strong economic footing while cutting taxes 19 times and his lifetime career in the private sector.
[...]
Michigan clearly wants leadership with private sector experience because government has demonstrated they don’t have all the answers. America needs someone who gets it, who’s been there and done that, someone to help restore America’s confidence and greatness. We need something more than another career politician because it’s career politicians have gotten us into this mess and they aren’t going to get us out. Mitt is a conservative businessman and that’s the experience he will bring to the White House to turn our economy around.
[...]
To put it succinctly, with 25 years of experience in the private sector, Mitt Romney knows how our economy works and how to implement pro-growth policies that will produce jobs. Mitt is clearly the strongest candidate to take on President Obama and he has the skills needed to rein in spending, control our exploding deficits and bring fiscal sanity back to Washington.

Mitt Romney has taken a common sense conservative approach on issue after issue. From his jobs program, to taxes to support for a strong defense, his positions are sound. While some question his position as Governor on healthcare, we need to remember he was able to create their state’s program without raising taxes and by implementing a free-market plan, not a government plan. I believe that difference will be a strong issue for us when taking on Obama. He has also been clear that it was a state approach, which may not work in other states. That is why the issue should be addressed at the state level, not the federal level. And he is 100% clear on this: as President he will REPEAL Obamacare, and on day one will give all 50 states waivers from complying with Obamacare.
[...]
I firmly believe that Governor Mitt Romney is the right man, at the right time to step up and serve our country. As with every candidate, there will be things I don’t necessarily agree with or may have done differently myself. However, the ultimate test comes in the comparison to Barack Obama, his policies and Romney’s ability to offer our country a viable alternate.

Romney is tested, he’s ready, he’s committed and he is best prepared for the challenge ahead. I urge you to join me in supporting Mitt Romney to be our next President of the United States of America!

Well done and well said!

Note: Michigan currently has an unemployment rate of 10.9%. Michigan stands a good chance to become a major player in the 2012 GOP primary if it moves its election up to February 28, as they are intending to do.

‘Breath of Fresh Air’ Ann Romney Tells NH Voters Why USA Needs Mitt

She’s a breath of fresh air. She’s a family person.” ~Bob Nelson (voter), referring to Ann Romney while attending a political house party in Laconia, New Hampshire. (July 27, 2011)

No one knows Mitt Romney better than his sweetheart of 42 years, Ann Romney. She took a couple of days out of her busy schedule last week (16 grandchildren dropped by for summer fun at Lake Winnipesaukee) to help campaign for Governor Romney. She spoke about the kind of man her husband is and why she’s supporting him 100%:

Laconia, New Hampshire (July 27, 2011):

“I left 16 grandchildren at home this morning and a couple of them wanted to know why I was dressed this way, how come they weren’t going on the boat, going swimming with me,” Romney said, wearing a blue-and-white dress.
[...]
As they did during the 2008 presidential campaign, and during their four years as first family of Massachusetts, the Romneys have projected a wholesome family image.

They have talked about being high school sweethearts and highlighted their 42-year marriage. Now 62, Ann Romney stayed home to raise her five sons, all of whom are now married.
[...]
In a short speech, Romney praised her husband as a man “who knows how to do a turnaround” of both businesses and of the country. Just as Mitt Romney does on the campaign trail, she talked about his background as a businessman, about his work turning around troubled companies and starting Bain Capital. He also served as governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007.

But she also focused on his commitment to his family.

He’d remind me always that no other success can compensate for failure in the home,” Romney said. “Where his joy came from was his family.”

Referring to her work raising her children, Romney her husband would tell her that “more important than my job is what you’re doing.”
[...]
Beverly Bruce, a consultant from Tuftonboro who plans to host a fund-raiser for Mitt Romney at the end of August, said she has seen the Romneys together, and they are so close that they finish each other’s sentences.

“She has intellect, passion, really cares what happens to the country,” Bruce said.
[...]
She’s a breath of fresh air,” said Bob Nelson, a retiree who travels between New Hampshire and Florida. “She’s a family person.”

Amherst, NH – July 28, 2011:

[...]
Mrs. Romney met supporters at the home of Lisa and Karl Hansen on The Flume in Amherst. Speaking in their living room, Romney talked about the love for her country and the need to go in another direction.

Ann Romney speaks to supporters at a 'meet & greet' in Amherst, NH. July 28, 2011

“You have to turn around America, said Romney.

She said she has “one hundred percent confidence” that her husband will become president and tackle the country’s economic problems. She cited his extensive business experience with companies like Staples and Burger King, along with his work organizing the 2002 Olympic Games in Utah.

Sharing stories of her family and their experience in the campaign, Romney said that her husband always put business secondary to family. However, she said that he will do his best to succeed in leading both his family and the country.

She said that people are most concerned about jobs, and her husband has the most experience in creating good jobs.

“If [voters] are concerned about jobs, this election is critical,” said Romney.

Amherst Patch:

Ann Romney told supporters at a meet and greet in Amherst today that her husband’s ability to lead as a father, businessman and politician made him the perfect candidate for president.

Supporters expressed their belief that his strong family values and business sense make him the best choice to fix our nation’s problems.

Take a look at this video (listening to down-to-earth, charming, witty Ann makes me wish I had been there!). NOTE: Due to the ‘auto-start’ feature on this video, it played for a day on this page and has now been linked here.

“After the last campaign, I made sure to let everybody know — and I even got a camera to come up and record it– that I would never do that again… I said that, however, after every pregnancy…”
[...]
“America needs to have a turnaround, and I thought you know, there’s only one guy I know who really knows how to do turnarounds. That’s Mitt Romney.”

UPDATE: MSNBC

She [Ann] cast this cycle’s campaign as a full family effort, with support from all 16 grandchildren. One of the Romney granddaughters will be taking a year off to work on the campaign. The 16-year-old will be home-schooled on the trail.

We love you, Ann; keep up the great work!

Recap of Mitt Romney’s Book Tour Stop in Utah (Pics and Videos)

On March 13th my brothers (Luke and Aaron) and I attended the Salt Lake City stop of Mitt Romney’s No Apology Tour. We bought tickets for the event, and we got one Gold ticket so I could cover the Gold reception before the main event – it turned out that we got press passes the day before the event, thanks to Aaron sending an email request to the Hinckley Institute. The press passes were very nice. They allowed us to roam the aisles and get close up to the front during the event to get some photos and even some video on my little hand-held video camera. (Karen said that we were never in our seats.)

Not sure exactly what to expect, my brothers and I did some preparations to promote this site while we were there knowing there would be thousands of Mitt Romney fans everywhere. The doors opened at 4PM for the 7PM event and there were plenty of people there already to talk to. We brought up several hundred of our Mitt ’12 bumper stickers as incentives for people to sign an email list. With the help of two willing volunteers James Taylor and Eric Hatch, we were able to gather a few hundred emails. We will be contacting them soon with info about our site and an invitation to subscribe to our blog feed via email.

MRC crew

The MRC crew in Utah: Aaron, Nate, Luke, Eric and James

I attended the Gold Reception before the main event. There were a number of familiar faces, but I mostly took pictures and video while snacking on the food. It was there that I ran into long-time friend and co-blogger (CommittedtoRomney.com) Ann Marie Curling and her husband Joel – it was great to see her and catch up with life since they moved to Utah from Kentucky. I did briefly chat with Josh Romney – I asked him if he had any connections and could get me a No Apology t-shirt that all the volunteers were wearing. Unfortunately he didn’t have any connections. Luke, Aaron, Ben, and James were troopers and gathered all the emails while I was up hobnobbing. Thanks guys.

Mitt’s comments were as astute as usual. And Ann Romney was gracious as always. Beyond that there is not much more I can say about it that isn’t revealed better in the videos below.

Click here to see our gallery of 14 pictures of this event on our Facebook page.

Video #1: Prep. Short video shows you a little about how we make our Mitt ’12 bumper stickers. It’s a nice little ad for us too. :)

Video #2: From the reception: Ann and Mitt both speak, crowd shots, and singing happy birthday to Mitt

Video #3: Main Event: Selected clips, Q&A, crowd shots. Includes questions about Health Care.

Video #4: 12 year old asks Romney if he’s going to run for president.

(I already embedded this video in another post. Romney gives a great response the question. Click here to see it.)

Sorry for multiple videos. I honestly couldn’t think of what to cut so I ended up putting in all four. It was a great event to attend. If you live near a city which Romney will be visiting on his book tour, make the effort to get there. You won’t regret it!

Breaking: Romney Threatened by Fellow Airline Passenger

Jane Taber from Globe and Mail reports:

Republican politician Mitt Romney was physically threatened by a violent passenger on an Air Canada flight leaving Vancouver this morning.

Mr. Romney, who has been in Vancouver since Friday for the Olympic Winter Games, did not respond to the attack. Instead, he allowed the airline crew to deal with the incident, according to his spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom.
Mr. Romney, 62, and his wife, Ann, were sitting in Row 15 of the economy section of the Embrarer 190 airplane, waiting for the plane to take off when the incident happened.

The man sitting in front of Mr. Romney’s wife dropped his seat back and when Mr. Romney asked him to move it upright for takeoff, the man became “physically violent.” Another report said that the man tried to strike Mr. Romney.

“Gov. Romney did not retaliate,” said Mr. Fehrnstrom.
Mr. Romney was not injured. The pilot returned to the gate and the passenger and his bags were removed by the RCMP.

Crazy news, isn’t it? …What if the perpetrator had made contact? One thing for sure, Romney would have all of us here at MRC at his back!

On a different note, I’m glad Romney is learning to dodge these low blows; I have a feeling the left is going to come out swinging the closer we get to election season.

~Aaron G.

Addendum by Ross:
A video news report with additional details can be seen at My Fox Phoenix

Now it seems the man lowered his seat into Ann Romney right before takeoff, so Mitt spoke up to protect Ann. We’ll continue to update this post as more information becomes available.

UPDATE #2: Another news video with commentary can be found here.

UPDATE #3: Mitt Romney won’t press charges

UPDATE #4: Mitt’s assailant reveals himself? I might not believe his side of the story, but it is humorous never-the-less. President Obama better beware of Mitt’s Vulcan grip…haha

Addendum by Nate: Kevin Madden, a Team Romney veteran, was asked about the incident and gave this response:

The governor is a very polite guy; he’s not one whose very prone to emotional outbursts or anything. But there’s one thing I know about Gov. Romney too is, you don’t mess with Ann,” Madden said. “But I can guarantee — I bet you not one hair got out of place during it.

John R. Bohrer of the Huffington Post

For those who are just starting your observation of Mitt Romney, I would like to introduce you to one of the stupid accusations that you will hear (until 2008, when eventually you will want to bash your brains out).

John R. Bohrer of the Huffington Post is the latest zombie who repeats the following: “Romney is more readily identified with the Salt Lake City Olympics and making the state that elected him the butt of his jokes.”

But no one ever gives you an example of the Jokes that Romney tells about Massachusetts, because there are none. Romney says that there are a lot of liberals there, but that is not a joke. It is an observation. And unlike observations from liberals, it is the truth. There are a lot of liberals in Massachusetts. Why does pointing this out hurt the poor feelings of the poor liberals of poor Massachusetts? Were they trying to keep their presence there a secret? Are they behind in child support payments, and think this information will help former wives or girls friends track them down? “Tanner was a liberal, maybe I should look for him in Massachusetts!”

Are we supposed to feel sorry for them? Is Romney a bully, and he would beat up Massachusetts students for their lunch money, and laugh at them, saying that they were liberals, who will probably live in Massachusetts the rest of their lives, because they are stupid Massachusetts liberals? Did he make people cry, when he points out that there are a lot of liberals in Massachusetts? Did he hurt their feelings?

What joy can John R. Bohrer have of repeating this stupid observation. Why do people have the desire to repeat over and over what the main stream media tells them? Is this all they got on Mitt Romney? Romney pointed out that a lot of liberals live in Massachusetts?

Then John R. Bohrer makes the fatal mistake of many liberal blogers when they try to debate. They don’t. He asserted that Mitt Romney was a flip flopper with out giving any examples of times that he has flipped or flopped.

John R. Bohrer said; “And that’s because Mitt Romney views his identity just like every policy position he’s ever taken: temporary.”

Here is some background. Romney advocated states rights when it comes to abortion, and he declared a truce on the issue in Massachusetts. He said he would not change the laws. Now that he is running for president of the United States, he is asserting the same thing: each state should have the right to choose their abortion laws. So he has kind of changed his position from advocating that Massachusetts be able to remain pro-choice, to Massachusetts should remain pro-choice and other states should also get to choose their abortion policy, as he seeks to represent those from more states than Massachusetts. If you want to call that a flip, sure, go ahead. But I get to call you an idiot, if you try and call Mitt Romney a flip flopper, because a “flip flop” implies that he changed his position, and then changed it back again. And Abortion is the only issue that you could try and say his vies have changed. But even this is stupid. Is John R. Bohrer saying that we should never vote for someone whose views have changed? Did he really write a senior paper on JFK, Martin Luther King, and Cesar Chavez? Does he want to see examples were they advocated different things in DIFFERENT situations?

And, John R. Bohrer, I also get to also call you an idiot if you say that all of Romney’s positions have been “temporary” because of this one change.

I also get to call you a jerk for contributing to the stupidity of public discourse. You make an assertion (every position Romney has ever held has been temporary) without giving one example of times Romney has changed his position. No reasons to agree with you, just your attitude of self rightous disdain.

David asserts that he is able to read Mitt Romney’s mind twice. This is something else that will become infuriating over the next couple of years.

David says:

“Mitt Romney must be feeling pretty good right about now” and “Mitt Romney views his identity just like every policy position he’s ever taken: temporary”.

David wrote his senior thesis on “Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Cesar Chavez in 1968”. Was Robert also able to channel the personal feelings of these Cesar Chavez? People wonder what Cesar Chavez would have thought of the protest by illegal immigrants over the 2006 United States Congress immigration bill. Perhaps David can tell us what Chavez thinks, sense he is able to tell us with such clarity what Mitt Romney is thinking.

Mitt Romney said, “Being a conservative Republican in Massachusetts is a bit like being a cattle rancher at a vegetarian convention.”

Does this the truth hurt the feelings of liberals? Romney is saying the truth. Massachusetts is the most liberal state in the union. Is this fact off limits for Romney to point out? Should Romney not be allowed to have a sense of humor? How dare he laugh at the fact that he is a Republican Governor of the most liberal state, or must he assume a somber attitude, and never dare make fun of the fact that Republicans are a minority is Massachusetts? That Romney is able to laugh is admirable. If I had to live with these self righteous little pukes, I would be crying all the time.

Romney is not making fun of every citizen in Massachusetts. He is pointing out the fact that there happen to be a lot of liberals in that state. Is this wrong? Did he say everyone is Massachusetts is dumb? Did he say they are ugly? Did he make fun of them? No. He did not criticize them, he just said there are a lot of liberals. Is he wrong?

Mitt Romney makes fun of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Michael S. Kukakis, and the main stream media tell the citizens of Massachusetts that Romney is making fun of them.

Lyndon Johnson separated himself from racist elements in Texas, and Ronald Reagan did the same with the hippie fringe in California. Grover Cleveland, who in 1884 used the slogan “Grover the Good” to separate himself from the political corruption in his home state of New York”. Every president has had to separate themselves for the benefit of stupid people who think that every single person of a state, religion, or race is exactly the same.

Romney has said:

“There’s no question I do love jokes. Indicating that there are very few conservative Republicans in Massachusetts, I do not think is a surprise to anyone inside or outside of Massachusetts and is in no way an indictment of the state. If anything, it’s a recognition that I have to do a better job of recruiting Republicans.” Governor Mitt Romney, Mighty Mitt Romney, By Shawn Macomber, The American Spectator, 04-21-2006
