Why Mitt Romney! My Top Ten.

Mitt Romney Central has produced nearly 5,000 posts seeking to educate, enlighten and advocate for principles of freedom and for American values, with a key focus on Mitt Romney, his message, and cause. There is plenty of substance to review for those wishing to troll through the writings that each of us have posted on MRC. That said, each of us have been encouraged to take a moment and highlight what matters most to us in this election, and how Mitt Romney personifies such – which is tough by any measure (and not for any absence of substance). National Review Online recently submitted a poster of 689 reasons to defeat Obama. Contrarily, we are trying to distill our Romney positives down to our top three to ten reasons – why to vote for Mitt! There is so much to choose from, evidenced by our prolific writings of the past.

As a prelude, this is America’s Defining Moment and America demands a leader that defines our times, one who has been prepared for this moment; not in accolades of flattery, but in the substance of wisdom derived from knowledge applied through a lifetime of experience.

Here goes -

1. Character: It matters, and Mitt Romney’s life is simply a reflection of his character, to every whit. You see it in his devotion and love for his wife, Ann, and his family; You see it in his personal associations, associations that have lasted and endured through many years; you see it in those whom he has served throughout his lifetime; you see it in those affected and touched through his many endeavors; and, you see it in his tenderness to those in need or who he has just met. You can know the true mettle or character of a man by his legacy, his family, his friends and associations measured over time. Those who stand with Mitt don’t just know of him, they know him, having seen him in both public and private moments – he is the same. I know Mitt, and I know those who have known him most of their lives – Mitt Romney stands uniquely measured as a man of great character, far surpassing any whom I have known. You can trust him!

2. Competence: Wisdom is gained through experiential knowledge; through failure and success. Mitt Romney’s life experiences in business, philanthropy, service and government are unequaled by any who has served or sought the office of President of the United States in my lifetime. Wisdom gained through experience combined with principles and values aligned with family, faith, God and country are the measure of Mitt Romney. His depth of knowledge, experience and wisdom define his competence, proven through a lifetime of success.

3. Capacity: The capacity for contribution can be measured in many ways. However, I have not known anyone with a greater well of capacity to serve our country as President of the United States. Capacity is enabled by ability and availability, and Mitt Romney has all. A recent article noted the sacrifice Mitt Romney has made to serve our Country, having forgone nearly $2 billion in earnings and wealth creation, that he might make himself available to serve others! Even so, the capacity of the man is measured by the depth of his willing heart to place country and countrymen, and his family and God first.

4. Principled: Principles are like friends wherein we tend to be attracted to those most aligned with our own. Mitt chooses friends of equal character and principles. The point that his family is a reflection to every whit of how he has lived his life is a further illustration of the very principles that guide him. I am aligned with and respect the principles that have shaped the life of Mitt Romney. His devotion to family, faith, God and country are without question. The manner in which his life reflects these devotions and the underlying foundations of honesty, integrity, ethics, trust and character are further evidenced in his legacy and what those who know him say about him.

5. Integrity: Mitt’s business career speaks volumes of his integrity. Without equivocation, a lifetime of business successes, failures and association reflect one’s integrity. Mitt Romney is unchallenged by any who have known or worked with him as a man of stellar integrity. This matters, especially in governing and in Washington DC, or in any Statehouse for that matter. Too many men and women of good integrity have been swayed and influenced by the power in governing offices. I have confidence that Mitt Romney will not be influenced by contrary forces, nor compromised by the flattery of office or the power therein. He is who he is and we can trust him, with assurance that he will stand resolute and duty bound. He takes none of this to himself, recognizing the service in office is just that service – it isn’t about him, nor will it ever be. His service is a testament to my confidence.

6. Experience: There is not much to say here other than no one has been so prepared with a lifetime of experience. Mitt Romney’s life’s preparation in business, philanthropy, and government is unparalleled. Further, his life’s experience has been filled with innumerable opportunities, and at times insurmountable challenges, and in each one he has equaled or surpassed expectations. His successes in life’s experiences, and his failures, have shaped him and guided him to this defining moment for America’s history.

7. Resolve: Mitt Romney, contrary to the main stream media, is a man firm and resolute in standards and principles, and the decisions he undertakes are aligned therewith. He is open-minded, but not open-principled. He listens, measures all points against principles and values that matter, and moves with effectiveness and resolution to what is right. He is not one to capitulate to the situational standards of society.

8. Values: Mitt Romney’s values are traditional American values in every way. America is at a crossroads and needs a leader who reflects the traditional values of family, faith, God and America. We require a leader who will stand resolute against the fiery darts of those who would undermine that which matters. We need someone to lead who will stand for traditional marriage, life, family, freedom and liberty; someone who can and will lead with purpose and perspective; someone who understands the needs of the one, and the needs of the many and serve them accordingly. We need a man who cares – such is Mitt Romney; his life is a reflection of such, as most recently reported in the media.

9. Leadership: Leadership demands certain critical skill sets, including but not limited to, listening, analytics, problem solving, decision making, knowledge and the capacity to assimilate information, communication, empathy, wisdom and experience. Mitt Romney has proven himself in each of these areas. Whether in business, charitable service or government, he has clearly demonstrated leadership. You cannot lead where you have not been, and Mitt Romney leads. Whether with companies he started, or with the Olympics, or in the Statehouse as Governor, he didn’t ask of anyone what he wasn’t willing to do himself. A leader doesn’t mandate or direct, they inspire, motivate and draw people to a common objective. Mitt Romney will never ask of anyone what he doesn’t ask of himself!

10. Intelligence: Having been accused of being “wicked smart”, Mitt Romney is brilliant. His capacity to garner and retain knowledge, assimilate information and simplify complexity is unmeasured. I have seen him in innumerable circumstances where he has illustrated, without arrogance or condescension, his intelligence. His want to understand and his capacity to retain information, facts and data is amazing. He has a proven track record of applying what he knows in the highest and best use and for the purposes intended. In business it served the interests of his investors, business associates and clients; in service, his counsel, advice and leadership touched the lives of those whom he served in a significant manner; as Governor, the people of Massachusetts were greatly rewarded with a fiscally responsible government that served the people well, including better education and lower taxes with quality government service.

Simply summarized, Mitt Romney is everything Barack Obama isn’t!

Gov Christie Inspires Voters: “Romney/Ryan Are The Way to Fix This Broken Country”

What a powerhouse!

New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie flew yesterday into crucial swing-state Virginia to rock the vote for Romney/Ryan. The crowd gathered at Ball Office Products in Richmond were given a walloping treat. After Romney’s VA campaign manager, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling warmed up the crowd, Christie owned the lectern.

A few highlights (and there were many!):

Christie said the message he got coming out of the Democrat’s National Convention was – their words – “Government is the only thing we all belong to.” He replied that even in blue state New Jersey, “We were taught we don’t belong to government; the government belongs to us.”

The New Jersey Gov also reminded listeners of another recent belief Obama revealed: “You can’t change Washington D.C. from the inside.” Christie asked, “If he really believes that, then what the he*# is he doing asking for another four years?” He says Obama is asking for another four years to figure it out. His response to Obama’s plea? “You know what, Mr. President? I’m tired of waiting for you to figure it out!

@9:04:

He’d [Obama] never run anything in his life. And so the President doesn’t know how to lead. I mean watch what he’s been like for the past four years. He’s like a man wandering around a dark room, hands up against the wall, clutching for the light switch of leadership, and he just can’t find it. And, he won’t find it in the next 18 days! Blindly, blindly, walking around the White House… looking for a clue – looking for a clue.”

And you, know, the unfortunate thing for the President is this – is that there are clues everywhere – if he’d just open his eyes.

America, are you listening? Kick back and SOAK THIS UP:

@11:50:

I heard the President the other night in the debate say “Governor Romney says that I want a bigger government and that’s just not true. (laughter) Well, Governor Romney is not the guy who has run up SIX TRILLION dollars in new debt in four years as president. Governor Romney is not the one that has created new boards, commissions, czars, all over government that he’s paying millions and millions and millions of dollars to of our money to try and manipulate more and more things in the private economy, to try to get his desired result. And let me tell ya, Mitt Romney is not the guy who is looking to take money away from hard-working Americans and redistributing it across the country based on the government’s plan. He thinks the American PEOPLE should be able to decide how to spend their own money – not the government.

@ 12:42:

A few Sundays ago, before the first debate, Governor Romney asked me to go on all those Sunday morning shows for him. And you might remember back then, a couple of days before the first debate, the campaign wasn’t flying high. People were feeling a little nervous about how the campaign was going and what the last month of the campaign would look like. So they asked me to go on all those shows and deal with all those feisty hosts. (laughter) I don’t know why they picked me. (laughter and applause) And, so they asked me – Bob Schieffer, George Stephanopoulos, David Gregory – they all asked me “Well, what’s gonna happen, Governor Christie, on Wednesday at the debate, what’s gonna happen at Governor Romney’s campaign? How can it possibly turn around? Isn’t the race really over?” And I said to them, “You wait. You wait until Wednesday night ‘cuz Mitt Romney is gonna win that debate and turn this race UPSIDE DOWN. “

Mitt Romney is better prepared, smarter, and more ready for the presidency , and I knew he’d show ‘em that in those debates and he sure did!

NJ Gov Chris Christie ditched his suit jacket and launched into facts about Obama’s lack of leadership and praise for Mitt Romney in front of the crowd at Ball Office Products in Henrico county, Richmond, VA. Oct 19,2012 (Photo – Jim Nolan:Time)

@21:48 Christie quotes John Adams:

John Adams was near his death and this is what he wrote in his diary – and he wrote it for us, he wrote it for us. And, this is what he said: “You shall never know the sacrifices that we have made to secure for you your liberty. Make a good use of it. For if you do not, I shall repent in heaven for ever having made the sacrifices at all.”

Very inspiring!

Christie challenged voters in Virginia to to give an hour a day for the remaining days leading up to and including November 6th to preserve our constitutional freedoms and help Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan win. Contact Romney Campaign Headquarters in Virginia. Christie’s call to take our country back applies to all of us. Will YOU give an hour a day to preserve liberty? Can you do more? Get yourself in gear here!

THANK YOU, Governor Christie!

What the Media Doesn’t Want You to Know: Obama’s Follies

Below is an historical perspective that the media will diminish and distort, or not even disclose or discuss with America as they strive to protect and promote Barack Obama. Why? Whether in ideological alignment with Obama or striving for relevance and power in our society, the media is wont to attack or undermine Mitt Romney and the conservative movement, at any price without boundary, integrity or principle. What Obama and the media fail to realize in their blindness and pandering for relevance and power, is that they only become relevant and important unto themselves. By and through their misguided actions to become relevant, they become irrelevant. Never before in our history has the media, or our President for that matter, been so irresponsible and caught up in their own self-importance; never before have they been so blatant in their wants and posturing to America’s discredit; never before have they revealed who they really are and abandoned all ethical boundaries; never before have they exposed themselves with reckless and irresponsible abandon. The battle lines have been drawn and the media has joined the opposition. Their insidious lack of integrity and public profile is undermining the very fabric of our society, and all in the name of their principal advocate, Barack Obama. The same could be said for the liberal thinkers in our center-right society. The liberal thinkers and the media have aligned with one another and through their protestations convinced themselves that they are a reflection of American society; again, at the behest of their leading advocate, Barack Obama. They are not a reflection of the majority of American’s, yet – and hopefully they never will! Surely, they and Obama represent some in America, but clearly, truth and ideology be told, it is the minority. By and through their public pulpit each are convinced if they shout loud enough we will be equally convinced. What is tragic is the blatant lies and manipulations in play; with stories suppressed, polls manipulated, and lies promulgated – the media and Obama are trying to sell what is good as bad and what is bad as good. This deception has to stop! History has proven when the majority in society remain silent to the protestations of the extremes, lives and freedoms are lost – Not here, and not in America!

Intentional as the media may be to try and diminish and suppress conservative voter turnout by skewed and distorted polls, deceitful attacks on conservative values and Mitt Romney, or collusion to suppress information and deviate from substance – they will not succeed. I believe the efforts of deception will diminish Democratic turnout and elevate the Conservative turnout!

Noted in the recent post by Vic Lundquist, voices are being raised in opposition and standing on principles, gratefully!

The historical aggregation of some of Obama’s follies without sufficient media disclosure and publication is distressing for many reasons, not the least of which are the lives and freedoms lost.

1) Barack Obama’s failure to act on advance intel to protect our Libyan Ambassador and his colleagues; and his subsequent cover up of known intelligence reports conjunctive with his recent dismissiveness and failure to address and acknowledge terrorism on US territory in Libya and 20 embassies around the world.

2) Lives were lost because of Obama’s failed leadership and inattentions in the Middle East. Today our military is under severe threat because of the undermining attitudes and policies of Barack Obama. Each day we are losing men and women because of political posturing by Obama in Afghanistan – our enemy has infiltrated our ‘allies’ and are killing our soldiers, and nothing is said or done to stop it.

3) Barack Obama’s compromising leaks of national security matters to bolster his foreign policy bona fides, and put our nation at further risk.

4) Barack Obama’s foreign policy priorities to appease and accommodate our enemies; his foreign policy priorities to advocate the LGBT agenda as a condition of American aid, ‘cultural imperialism.’

5) Obama’s abandonment of world leadership; abandonment of Israel; accommodation to a soon-to-be nuclear Iran; accommodation to an Arab Winter and radical Islamic leadership that has put in play a conflagration in the Middle East.

6) Barack Obama’s willful taxes on the poor and middle class when he stated the contrary. (a) Obama stated he wouldn’t raise a dollar of tax on the middle class; and yet, he clearly stated he would wage a war on energy and bankrupt certain industries, including the coal industry. Consequentially, we have seen gasoline prices and home fuel costs more than double in 3 years. American’s are paying at least $1,200-$4,000 more per year in fuel costs because of Obama’s stated policies which is an egregious tax on all. (b) Obama’s debt agenda has imposed a principal borrowing of nearly $6 trillion, plus interest, on all Americans! His spending is one of the most significant taxes he can impose on this and future generations. What isn’t discussed is the cost of interest on this debt when interest rates go up, and they will go up. (c) Obamacare will further impose a minimum tax on all American’s of at least $4,000 per year and in the years to come, and so much more. Additionally, under Obamacare our seniors have to pay an added Obamacare tax on the sale of their homes.

Clinton Global Initiative: Romney Tackles Futile Foreign Aid, Stop Handouts, Give a Hand UP

GOP presidential candidate, former MA Governor Mitt Romney appears on stage with former Pres Bill Clinton at Clinton’s Global Initiative Convention in New York City. Sept 25, 2012 (Photo – Evan Vucci/AP )

Today, Governor Mitt Romney and former President Bill Clinton walked across a stage, side-by-side, to stand together at a lectern before a large crowd. The meeting of the 8th annual Clinton Global Initiative in New York City had begun; Romney was about to speak. Yes, the guy who saved Obama’s bacon at the Democratic National Convention offered kind introductory words for Obama’s opponent, Mitt Romney (see link in next paragraph).

Before getting to the meat of his remarks, Governor Romney began with some humor. After Clinton’s intro, Romney quipped “If there’s one thing we’ve learned this election season, it’s that a few words from Bill Clinton can do a man a lot of good… After that introduction, I guess all I have to do is wait a day or two for the bounce.” (To see Bill Clinton’s introduction and Romney’s good-humored joke click here.)

Drawing from his years of experience in the private sector, Romney offered a fresh, new look at the issue of futile foreign aid. He tied the efficacy of foreign aide to the power of free enterprise: “…[E]conomic freedom is the only force in history that has consistently lifted people out of poverty – and kept people out of poverty.”

In his speech, Romney noted the difference freedom makes in creating prosperous societies:

When I was in business, I traveled to many other countries. I was often struck by the vast difference in wealth among nations. True, some of that was due to geography. Rich countries often had natural resources like mineral deposits or ample waterways. But in some cases, all that separated a rich country from a poor one was a faint line on a map. Countries that were physically right next to each other were economically worlds apart. Just think of North and South Korea.

I became convinced that the crucial difference between these countries wasn’t geography. I noticed the most successful countries shared something in common. They were the freest. They protected the rights of the individual. They enforced the rule of law. And they encouraged free enterprise. They understood that economic freedom is the only force in history that has consistently lifted people out of poverty – and kept people out of poverty.

Romney’s excellent speech:

Romney’s foreign aid plan wouldn’t be just handing out aid packages; he believes in providing a hand UP, not a hand out to needy nations, which would improve people’s lives around the world and be a step toward making the world a safer place for Americans. He continued to extol the virtues of assistance programs that unleash free enterprise, resulting in more durable prosperity:

A temporary aid package can jolt an economy. It can fund some projects. It can pay some bills. It can employ some people some of the time. But it can’t sustain an economy—not for long. It can’t pull the whole cart—because at some point, the money runs out.

But an assistance program that helps unleash free enterprise creates enduring prosperity. Free enterprise is based on mutual exchange—or, rather, millions of exchanges—millions of people trading, buying, selling, building, investing. Yes, it has its ups and downs. It isn’t perfect. But it’s more durable. It’s more reliable. And ultimately, as history shows, it’s more successful.

Romney introduced the idea of ‘Prosperity Pacts’, encouraging microfinance, and more:

Romney said he would negotiate trade agreements and offer “prosperity pacts” in the Middle East and other developing nations to encourage open markets in exchange for U.S. aid. “The aim of a much larger share of our aid must be the promotion of work and the fostering of free enterprise,” Romney said.

In a reflection of his policy on welfare in the United States, Romney said work is the key to lifting people out of poverty abroad by providing self-esteem and a grounding in reality instead of fanaticism.

Romney v Obama on 60 Minutes

You be the judge. Bias as I may be, I have more confidence in Mitt Romney’s capacity to lead with a deep well of experience, as opposed to Obama’s continued blame game of excuses. A leader takes responsibility; A leader’s experience nurtures wisdom; A leader recognizes the need to adapt with pragmatism; and a leader is governed by values, constants and principles. The leader of America should be honest, truthful and an advocate for American values of freedom, liberty and empowerment, not entitlement. The leader of the free world should not be an advocate America’s subordination through appeasement and accommodation. The leader of America should adhere to the Constitutional principles and values of a government subordinate only to the people it serves. This is an election of leadership, freedom, peace through strength and a strong, vibrant economy. A strong economy does more to lead people from poverty – under Obama more have entered poverty than at any time since the Great Depression. Again, you be the judge. As a prompt, notice the tenor of each interviewer – a stark contrast between the Romney and Obama interviews.

Those video clips not included in the broadcast. Note Obama’s admission of falsehoods in his ad campaigns and by his campaign.

Obama’s Weakness Coming Home To Roost!

Bart Marcois, a dear friend who spent many years serving our country in the Middle East as a Foreign Service Officer, gives a reasoned opinion in recent opinion page of The Daily Caller.

It is well worth the read.

Violent extremists stormed America’s embassy in Libya yesterday, killing four innocent people, including our ambassador, Chris Stevens. Killing diplomats is one of the most provocative acts of war, and this is the first time in decades that an American ambassador has been killed. What emboldened our enemies enough to commit this evil act?

When a lawless mob of Islamist extremists used reports about a film that is insulting to Islam as an excuse to overrun the American Embassy in Cairo, our government issued a statement condemning … the film. While the protesters were sitting brazenly on the Embassy walls, openly mocking Obama (chanting, “Take a picture, Obama; we are all Osama”), did the American government condemn the lack of host government protection or the violation of our sovereign territory? No — they apologized that the film “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.”

This pusillanimous reaction symbolizes the Obama administration’s failure; it also marked the path toward the murder of Chris Stevens.

When extremists in Libya saw their brethren in Cairo successfully humiliate America, and pay no price for it, they knew it was open season on Americans. They followed suit, but were more violent, and did not stop at replacing and desecrating the flag. Obama’s reaction to the killing echoed the statement from Embassy Cairo: he condemned the killing, but was more specific in his condemnation of the people who made the film. His soft answer will jeopardize the lives and safety of our other diplomats everywhere in the world.

And what was our president doing yesterday afternoon while this was unfolding? A radio interview with a Miami DJ known as “The Pimp with the Limp.” When asked how he was doing, our commander-in-chief answered, “Blessed and highly favored.” He said how honored he was to be on the show: “You’ve got Pitbull and Flo Rida and all these guys just beating a path to your door.” That is how he chose to spend September 11, and what he did while our Embassy was occupied.

A Sad Day for America! Where is our President?

Today America suffered a great loss following a day of sacred remembrance! Most critically, we suffered the tragic loss of life in Libya, and we mourn with those who lost their loved ones, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three of his staff. We offer our condolences and prayers for solace to the family members of those who have suffered this difficult loss. Today America mourns!

Yesterday’s remembrance and today’s tragedy are reminders that we are in the midst of significant turmoil, tumult and commotion in the world. Even so, it is difficult to measure the anger and outrage so many feel when our freedoms and principles are threatened, and lives are lost by radical Islamic thuggery. The disrespect and irrationality of these immoral thugs is difficult to fathom and comprehend, especially when as Americans we value and treasure life and human dignity so significantly. Needless to say, this is a difficult time for the world, and for America. I am grateful for who we are and what we stand for – now if we just had a leader in our President that stood resolute for these same principles.

After waking to the headlines this morning and seeking for some measure and understanding, I reflected back to Condi Rice’s recent speech at the Republican Convention in Tampa. Therein she speaks of leadership and a wanting definition of where America stands. She further speaks of the global turmoil and challenges we have and continue to face, and the critical need for wisdom and leadership on the global stage. She points out that if America doesn’t lead, someone else will. Today we have witnessed the consequences of absent leadership in Washington. The Arab Spring, as noted by Governor Romney is turning into the Arab Winter.

Therefore, I simply ask the question, ‘Where is our President?‘ At a time that demands great leadership in our nation and on the world stage, Mr. Obama is absent! At a time when our outrage and condemnation should be expressed in no uncertain terms, Mr. Obama and the State Department gave utterance to understanding the radical Islamic outrage over derisive comments against Mohammed. Clearly they indicated that such isn’t an excuse, but to give utterance to offense is not leadership, it is capitulation. At a time when our friend and ally in the Middle East, Israel, is under serious threat and their Prime Minister seeks an audience with our President, he is too busy to meet and is unwilling to make it the needed priority it is! And yet, Mr. Obama has time to visit with David Letterman in lieu of the Prime Minister; he has time to campaign in Nevada and Colorado on the very day we have suffered such a great loss in Libya; where are you Mr. President? And, do you really care about what matters? Or, are you too interested in the power, the prestige and the celebrity of the Presidency and your re-election?

Paul Ryan: “Without Guile or Pretense” — Why America Will Win

We are going to win!

Assuming Mitt Romney is elected President of the United States, he just made the first major decision of his presidency. His selection of Paul Ryan as his vice president is another outstanding decision that is rattling already spooked operatives in the executive branch.

Paul Ryan & Mitt Romney in High Point, North Carolina — August 12, 2012. Photo by Sara D. Davis / Getty Images

Governor Romney offered four criteria for his selection of a VP running mate. He has said often that this person must be able to step in as POTUS from the day he is elected VP. In addition, in last night’s 60 Minutes interview he said the person had to have the “experience, judgment, capacity [read: intelligence], and character…” He said Paul Ryan clearly met each of these.

Mitt Romney’s choice for vice president is widely considered to have broken the perception that he and his campaign were playing it safe. Frankly, I never thought that for a moment; however I did think he has been playing it smart by not spending a lot of money and political capital during the summer doldrums when few people pay attention to politics. Contrast decisions made by President Obama, who is indecisive and timid regarding major international affairs of state, failing to assume a major leadership role characteristic of most former US chief executives. World leaders are clamoring for American leadership abroad. Even American legislators are drifting as a result of the void of executive leadership. Which of the two presidential candidates is playing it safe? The stark irony and reality is that it is Barack Obama.

There have been many outstanding quotes about Paul Ryan and Governor Romney’s selection these past 48 hours. My favorite quote of them all about Paul Ryan was by Bill Bennett, for whom Ryan worked at Empower America:

“He is a guy without guile, without pretense. He likes to hang out with actuaries for relaxation,”

Think about how any person could describe a national leader or politician that would be a greater compliment than “being without guile and pretense?” The same is true of Mitt Romney. They both are cut from the same cloth when it comes to character. I happen to believe that one of the reasons Governor Romney chose Paul Ryan was because he is a humble man. Has any person ever described Barack Obama in any way even remotely similar? What about Biden? Sadly, never.

This weekend I heard just about every criticism the Democrats could muster to describe Paul Ryan and the Romney/Ryan ticket. Most laughable of them all was their projection of Romney’s policy plans versus those of Obama. They believe Obama’s policies are superior. Let’s use a little bit of brain power here – maybe a little logic and reasoning?

Even if you think Obama’s policies are the best overall, how could you ever believe the man will successfully execute them? America is suffering under his policies. We are in stagflation after years of Obama policy. The only reason we don’t hear about stagflation more frequently is because one component is in its early stages: inflation. But the lack of consumer and business growth has been our course for many quarters and rising unemployment is a fact. Obama is to be trusted to execute his policies? Obama has broken at least two dozen commitments to American citizens. Here are some big ones: He promised to cut unemployment to 6.5% in his first term (we are at 8.2% and 15% when considering those who quit looking for a job). He committed to cut federal deficits in half in his first term. Instead, he allowed debt to balloon by $5 trillion! He promised to close Gitmo; an easy commitment to fulfill as POTUS. Obama’s answer to just about any problem is to spend more and to support the spend by taxing more. Obama is a great talker; he knows how to promise.

Mitt Romney knows how to execute. That is what he does. Every challenge he has taken on, he mastered. Whether to cut the debt with an 85% Democrat legislature in Massachusetts or to take a corruption-riddled Olympics project to one of the most successful Olympic Games in American history, Mitt Romney always attains the goals he sets. Execution of policy? Whom to trust to execute his policies? Obama or Romney? The answer is perfectly clear. America needs a complete turnaround. Do we trust the master of stagflation or the master of the turnaround?

Finally, Mr. Obama, and those he has chosen to surround him, are devoid of a moral compass. They have no compunction to lying. The most recent example is the Internet ad falsely implicating Governor Romney in the homicide of a woman. All of Obama’s closest advisers have stated they don’t know much about the entity that created it but when challenged on those assertions, they change the subject in shameless ways to prove they agree with and endorse the foundational premise of the ad. They are full of guile and pretense. One reason America is so lacking in executive leadership is because Barack Obama has no moral authority – he currently has power, yes, but he completely lacks authority. Space does not allow me to elaborate; suffice to say that any “leader” that is willing to lie to retain or gain power is doing so to cover behavior unbecoming the Office of President.

I introduced this piece with, “We are going to win!” I know we are going to win; this is not a hunch. Here are some clues:

In Flight, August 11, 2012 — Photo Credit: Newsday.com

  • Compare the size of the Romney and Obama rallies; Romney’s in Wisconsin and North Carolina over the weekend were 10,000+…Obama’s are sparse now (follow Drudge for regular crowd updates).
  • Obama will be the first incumbent president in American history to raise less money than his challenger (an important type of “vote”).
  • Obama begs for money at every turn. As incumbent, he has held over 200 fund raisers; that is more than all five previous incumbent presidents combined. This is an important reason Obama is an ineffective POTUS; he spends all his time either raising money or resting from raising money (golfing).
  • We frequently hear of elected Democrat officials and Democrat voters publicly declare they plan to vote for and support Mitt Romney for president; we never hear the opposite.
  • Romney is far smarter than Obama. Obama is a smooth talker; even a better talker than Romney. But Romney has spent his entire life setting strategy, inspiring others to his vision, and exceeding expectations.
  • Obama has far outspent Romney these past three months to no avail; polls had them tied when he began and they are basically tied now. Watch the needle when Romney/Ryan begin to get their message out and challenge Obama/Biden. They have yet to begin the fight.
  • At this stage in 1980 (90 days out), Carter was leading Reagan by 9 points; Reagan crushed Carter in a landslide (Carter’s economy was our last stagflation by the way).
  • Romney is a man of character with an unblemished reputation of moral authority. Obama has fully abdicated his responsibility of leadership by blaming other individuals, entities, and predecessors; he has never been a leader in the classic sense. American citizens know the difference.

We must all work as hard as we can — every day — to help Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan execute their strategy for the benefit of the greatest nation on Earth. Join Twitter to promote MRC. Use Facebook to get the word out often for Romney/Ryan. Yes, it is work, but it is fun work and being part of a winning team is the best!

Just Plain Mitt!

In spite of the mainstream media trying to paint Mitt Romney as out of touch, or distant, he is anything but…Yes, he is wealthy beyond measure, and yes, he is ‘wicked smart’ and very accomplished – even so, he is more like you and me than the media would want expose. Mitt Romney gets it because he lives it; because he has spent many years serving others; because he values pragmatism; because of a life lived with empathy toward others. I have known the man for many years and appreciate him for what he stands for, but even more so for who he is – a man of faith; a man of integrity; a man of character; a patriot with a sense of duty and purpose; and a man who is as real as real gets. There is NO pretense or guile in Mitt Romney. Today, America needs REAL; America needs ROMNEY!

As noted in the introductory comments of my recent book, On The Brink, America’s Choice 2012, “What I do know is what Mitt and Ann Romney have done and are wont to do. They are the very antithesis of the media’s aloof creation. Aside from their great generosity in almsgiving, they have given of themselves, always. They care! And, they relate to you and me. They are as real as real gets, and those who have been touched by a personal experience can attest to who they truly are. Many, many individuals and families have experienced their empathy and caring love through anonymous acts of kindness. Further, their private lives are more like yours and mine than you might imagine. They do for themselves and their family what you and I do for ours – they do not live the life that many might expect.”

The book is revealing as to the depth of Mitt Romney and I smile when seeing pictures such as that above – because it is just plain Mitt! We have a great opportunity to elect one whose life experience has prepared him to lead in this, our nation’s defining moment. Unlike the current occupant in the White House who feigns alignment with American values and principles – Mitt lives them.

As an aside, I recently watched the documentary 2016, Obama’s America, and it was revealing in so many ways. Barack Obama is so far afield in his ideology and personal associations with colleagues and mentors that it is frightening to think of what might be if he is re-elected. Now is the time for America to take of the blinders of Obama’s deception and recognize that Mitt Romney is the hope for a brighter American future. Obama has proven to be the advocate of despair, deception and decline; while Mitt Romney has hoisted the Title of Liberty and stands as a champion for freedom. Hopefully, America can clearly see the distinction between these two men, and not be blinded by the flattery of Obama or the siren songs of the mainstream media and Hollywood – it appears as though America is waking up!

This is our moment, and momentum seems to be moving toward the cause of freedom that Mitt espouses, as noted in the posts below.
