Perry Doubles Down on Illegal Immigration, ‘Romney For President’ Releases New Video:

As Rick Perry doubles down on his illegal immigration stances, Romney for President has released a new video…

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President released a new web video, “Thank You Governor Perry.” The video highlights Governor Perry’s support for in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants. This position is shared by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid, and President Obama, and in 2003, former Mexico President Vicente Fox praised Governor Perry for supporting in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.

Mitt Romney has a different view:

While serving in the Illinois Senate, President Obama sponsored legislation to “allow undocumented immigrant students to pay in-state tuition at public colleges and universities.” “[T]he Senate voted 55-1 to allow undocumented immigrant students to pay in-state tuition at public colleges and universities. Currently, the undocumented students are required to pay out-of-state tuition even if they spend their entire education in Illinois schools. House Bill 60 would change that, allowing in-state tuition rates for undocumented students who have attended school in Illinois for at least three years and graduated high school in the state.” (Rich Frederick, “Senate OKs In-State Tuition Bill,” The State Journal-Register, 5/8/03; Illinois General Assembly Website,, 9/29/11)

Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and Harry Reid support in-state tuition discounts for illegals.

In 2007, Senator Harry Reid supported a bill that “would have allowed illegal immigrants to become legal residents and qualify for lower in-state tuition rates at state universities.” “In late 2007, the Senate rejected an attempt to pass the Dream Act which would have allow illegal immigrants under age 30 to gain legal status if they attended college or joined the military. Fairness demanded action, said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, arguing that ‘children should not be penalized for the actions of their parents’ who brought them to the United States. But the bill would have allowed illegal immigrants to become legal residents and qualify for lower in-state tuition rates at state universities.” (Tom Curry, “Immigration Impasse Long In The Making,” NBC News, 7/29/10)

• “The Dream Act would allow students who have lived in the country since age 15 to apply for conditional legal residence… They would then be able to work and pay in-state college tuition rates. .” (Eddy Ramirez, “College Board Backs Bill To Legalize Undocumented Students,”, 4/22/09)

Reid: “Children should not be penalized for the actions of their parents.” (Tom Curry, “An Immigration Impasse Long In The Making,”, 7/29/10)

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi supports in-state tuition discounts for illegal immigrants, saying “Our country does not benefit by depriving our young people of an education.” “Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stopped in Tempe on Monday to tout congressional Democrats’ push to make college more affordable for young people, including those without legal residency. … Pelosi made reference to the effect of Proposition 300, an Arizona initiative passed by voters in November that requires illegal immigrants to pay out-of-state tuition to attend public universities and community colleges. Pelosi said she met with a young woman Monday who wants to attend college but lacks documentation proving legal residency. ‘Our country does not benefit by our depriving young people of an education,’ Pelosi said.” (Josh Kelley, “Pelosi Addresses College Cost,” The Arizona Republic, 2/20/07)

Capitol Hill Lame Ducks Scheduled to Vote on Back-Door Amnesty Known as DREAM Act

Days of the congressional lame duck session are dwindling (more so because Harry Reid has vowed to recess Congress by December 17th – a full week before Christmas). While news is focused on Obama and the revolt being waged by his lefty-left base over his ‘caving’ to Republicans on his tax cut proposals, another jam-it-through piece of legislation is underway known as…

S.3827 – the DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act).

Could President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi be hoping the distraction will provide camouflage for them to lob into law a bill that would allow aliens citizenship through military service or two years of attending college? The ‘nudging ploy’ to give blanket amnesty to millions of illegal residents is scheduled for vote tomorrow. And, DREAM Act proponents are organized to hold protests, vigils, and man phone banks:

Obama’s DREAM Act and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Community Organizer Big Push
Groups Make Late Push to Salvage Bill Aiding Illegal Immigrant Students
National DREAM Act Vigil and Procession

Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee who has taken a lead position on S.3827, spoke on the Senate floor today to voice is opposition to the mass amnesty proposal. He pointed out that DREAM Act’s amnesty does not require a high school diploma or a college degree, and eligibility would be open to a number of illegal aliens with criminal records, and much, much more. He also elucidated the points included in his recent white paper:

DREAM Act Mass Amnesty Would Be ‘A Disaster’ – Monday, December 6, 2010

The public will not allow us to repeat the mistakes of the 1986 amnesty. They will not fall for the ruse that we can have amnesty first and security later. They understand that if we do not secure the border first, we may never secure it at all.

Despite this—and despite historic losses in the recent election—Democrat leaders are now pushing a reckless proposal for mass amnesty known as the DREAM Act.

At a time when our nation is struggling with high unemployment and runaway government spending, this bill would authorize millions of illegal workers and impose an even greater burden on taxpayers.

Making matters worse, those eligible for the DREAM Act amnesty include illegal aliens with criminal records.

And all of this is being rushed through a lame-duck Congress with no committee review. Democrat Leaders have even introduced four versions of the same bill in just over two months, three in the last 13 days. It’s been a shell game that abuses the legislative process.

Is it any wonder that the public has lost faith in this institution?

Americans want us to enforce our laws. But we are considering a bill that would reward and encourage their violation.

Americans want Congress to end the lawlessness. But this bill would have us surrender to it.

Consider a few of the DREAM Act’s most troubling provisions:

• The DREAM Act is not limited to children. Illegal aliens as old as 30 or 35 are eligible on the date of enactment. And they remain eligible to apply at any future age, as the registration window does not close.
• You not need a high school diploma, a college degree or military service in order to receive DREAM Act Amnesty. Illegal aliens can receive indefinite legal status as long as they have a GED. And they can receive permanent legal status and a guaranteed path to citizenship as long as they complete just two years of college or trade school.
• One version of the DREAM Act offers illegal aliens in-state tuition for which many American citizens are not eligible. All four versions provide illegal aliens with federal educations benefits such as work-study programs, federal student loans and access to public colleges that are already short on space and resources.
• The CBO says the bill would add $5 billion to the deficit. But the number is likely to be dramatically higher. The CBO has clearly failed to account for a number of major costs factors with the DREAM Act, including unemployment, public education costs, chain migration, and fraud. Nor does the CBO take it account what history has proven: passing amnesty will incentivize even more illegality and lawlessness at the border. In addition the CBO assumes a large portion of these will obtain jobs, but there is no surplus of job opportunities. The score doesn’t count those who can’t get jobs because of this competition.
• Conservative estimates say that between 1.3 and 2.1 million illegal aliens will be immediately eligible for DREAM Act Amnesty. But that number will grow significantly as the bill has no cap or sunset. Moreover, those who obtain legal status can then do the same for their relatives – even if those relatives brought them here illegally in the first place. As a result, the number of green cards granted could easily triple.
• Many with criminal records will also be eligible for the DREAM Act’s amnesty. They simply must have less than three misdemeanor convictions. Those potentially eligible would include drunk drivers, gang members, and even those who have committed certain sexual offenses. The most recent version of the bill also gives the Secretary of Homeland Security broad authority to waive ineligibility for even the most severe criminal offenders and those who pose a threat to our national security.
• Those who commit document fraud or who lie to immigration authorities are eligible for the amnesty as well. This is particularly troubling as it contains a potential loophole for high-risk individuals to be placed on a pathway to citizenship. One of the warning signs missed prior to 9/11 were the fraudulent visa applications submitted by the 9/11 hijackers. But this bill would likely make it more difficult to combat immigration fraud from dangerous regions in the Middle East.
• The DREAM Act even contains a safe harbor provision that would prevent many applicants from being removed as long as their application is pending—even if they have a serious criminal record. This provision could dramatically hinder federal authorities and will undoubtedly unleash a torrent of costly litigation that will suck up untold hours of our law enforcement resources and abilities that ought to be focused on the border.

In short, this bill would be a disaster.

Yet Democrat leaders remain committed to their push for this amnesty. They are again defying the public will and sending the world a message that our nation is not serious about the integrity of our borders and our laws.

American citizenship is the envy of the world. But central to our nation’s greatness is our respect for the rule of law. By eroding that respect through reckless and irresponsible amnesty we would do a disservice not only to the 300 million Americans who call this nation home, but to all those future citizens who are applying and waiting in line to enter our country lawfully.”

Governor Romney opposes amnesty.

Illegals from Mexico make their way across AZ desert.

Meanwhile, amid protests and vigils in favor of the legislation, Latino leaders who OPPOSE the DREAM Act met today in Washington D.C. to show their dissatisfaction with the push to pass the bill:

According to Carmen Morales, Latino activist and a leader of the coalition, “Latino leaders are gathered today in solidarity. We are here to send a strong message to Congress that as Latinos, we stand staunchly opposed to any measure that puts Americans at a disadvantage and rewards illegal behavior.”

According to congressional statements and the Migration Policy Institute, if passed, the bill could potentially grant amnesty to as many as 2.1 million illegal immigrants. With unemployment officially at 9.8% this is a huge mistake. “I think progressives and conservatives alike can agree on the need to support working and middle-class citizens during a depressed economy,” said Leah Durant, Executive Director of Progressives for Immigration Reform. “This bill would provide in-state tuition rates and residency benefits to illegal immigrant students when many Americans are hurting the most. What makes sense is for America’s jobs and tuition benefits to be reserved for people who are legally entitled to compete for them.”

Key provisions of the DREAM Act would:
• Waive numerical limitations on green cards, and prohibit any numerical limitation on the number of persons eligible for citizenship under the bill’s provisions.
• Allow certain aliens to qualify for in-state tuition rates, even while this benefit is denied to U.S. citizens and legally present aliens residing in other states.

(my emphasis)

If passed, the DREAM Act could also turn into a nightmare for our armed forces.

As Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) urge action, click here to see video of Laura Ingraham taking Newt Gingrich to task for his hypocritical support of DREAM.

Some legislators hoped the DREAM vote would be brought up first in the House to create momentum for passage in the Senate. The DREAM Act wasn’t expected to receive the 60 votes needed to advance in the Senate because Republicans vowed to block any legislation brought before the chamber until the Bush tax cuts were dealt with. Now that Obama has moved toward resolving the tax situation, will the DREAM vote occur tomorrow as scheduled and will Republicans hold their ground? The open warfare Obama is receiving from his base on his tax compromise may delay the vote. Either way, ORP (Obama, Reid Pelosi) will employ their usual MO and try to ram-rush this through. Do contact your congressional leaders via phone, fax, and email to urge them to vote against the DREAM Act.

Open Wide! Obama Prescribes Socialist Medicine, An Outsider’s View

ObamaCareOpen wide! Our Physician-in-Chief president has ordered a constant dose of socialist medicine to be shoved down every objecting American throat ad infinitum. In spite of Obama’s goal to divide and conquer us, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Mitt Romney to reject Obama’s prescription for health care corruption. Next on Obama’s agenda? Amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. Why? After what Obama did to America yesterday, he will need every illegal alien vote to win in 2012.

Much will follow here on MRC on how we move forward. But, today, I offer perspective on the changes occurring in our nation by a NON American – Canadian poet, essayist, author, and Pajamas Media contributor, David Solway. Oft times we skim over articles without really reading, contemplating, or digesting content. I hope you’ll gift yourself with time to read and ponder every word of the article Solway published today:

Destroying America from Within

The American people have elected a president for whom the critical battleground in the world is not the Middle East, Iraq, Iran, or even Afghanistan.

[…]Some PJM readers might ask themselves why a Canadian is so preoccupied with American politics. For one thing, America, as we used to say back when, is “where it’s happening,” for how America goes, so goes the world. Additionally, the immediate political and economic fate of my country is ineluctably tied to that of the U.S. We have the same enemies, our militaries are integrated through NORAD, we share the longest undefended border in the world, we buy property, visit, and vacation in one another’s lands, and of course, under the provisions of NAFTA, the U.S. is Canada’s largest trading partner. If America implodes, we go down the tubes with it.

Thus I pay close attention to the American political scene, which is always fascinating and always instructive, a bellwether for the future. This will explain why I have grown increasingly distraught when I consider what the American people inflicted upon themselves (and the rest of us) by electing a president on a dream and a catchphrase — a man with a dubious leftist background, with no relevant experience apart from serving two years as a junior senator, with little in the way of detectable credentials, boasting a CV with major areas blacked out, who enjoyed the mentorship of impenitent America haters, and who promised to “fundamentally transform” a country that didn’t need to be transformed, only responsibly governed.

The current American president is arguably the gravest mistake the American electorate has ever made and one it may not survive intact. It will inevitably come to regret its decision. This is not the place to run through the chronicle of Obama’s blunders, backslidings, broken promises, outright lying, despotic tendencies, shallow education, historical falsifications, ludicrous policies, betrayal of allies, and economic bungling (assuming this is not deliberate) — the record is accessible in all its details to anyone who wishes to consult it. What strikes me as most ominous, however, is that the American people have elected a president for whom the critical battleground in the world is not the Middle East or Iraq or Iran or even Afghanistan. For this president, the war he is declaring is to be fought right here on American soil against a late-awakened majority of his own countrymen, on whom he wishes to impose a political structure alien to their history, culture, economy, and feeling of exceptionalism. This is a president who is foisting a radical, far-left agenda on a center-right country and who will not be deterred from ramming his project into existence.

Indeed, one must really wonder, as Nancy Morgan has written, whether Obama is trying to bankrupt America, “adopting a strategy outlined by Cloward-Piven: overwhelm the system until it fails, and then replace it. … Based on Obama’s actions to date, reasonable people must allow for the possibility that the change Obama promised may include destroying the free market economic system in order to replace it with an economy regulated by government entities.” Similarly, if the Democratic liberal-left is so smart, Tom Blumer asks rhetorically, why are we so broke? And answers: “because they want us to be.” And as Nancy Coppock writes at American Thinker, “It is not alarmist to identify this situation as a coup d’état.”

Pajamas Media Chicago editor Rick Moran believes that “President Obama means well,” since “even at the risk of disastrous political defeat at the polls in November for his party, he is willing to undertake this imprudent, radical, and unnecessary change in the relationship between the governed and the governors.” I respectfully disagree. I suspect, rather, that what we are observing is an authoritarian personality and dogmatic political commissar intent on forcing his doctrinaire convictions upon the body politic regardless of the cost. It is, so to speak, to the Finland Station or bust. It’s either The Socialist Republic of America or it’s nothing. Let’s not kid ourselves. Obama and his catwalk crowd are not to be intimately equated with Lenin and his Bolsheviks, but they are definitely in the same snack bracket. As J. Robert Smith writes, “the differences … are significant,” yet “Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are decidedly pale reds.” Lenin, he concludes, “would be proud.”

We must not sell Obama short. He is a determined man. He is supremely confident in his oratorical powers, even if his rhetoric sounds somewhat wattled when he’s off the teleprompter. He has the backing of his party, the liberal intelligentsia, the mainstream media, and the teeming campus myrmidons. He is imbued with the theories of leftist revolutionary Saul Alinsky and has no doubt learned much from his friend and former neighbor, founder of the terrorist Weather Underground Bill Ayers, and has mastered what has come to be known as “Chicago tactics — “a machine,” according to Michael Gecan writing in the Boston Review, which “thrives on narrow or limited voting situations” and is predicated on “centralized power and influence.”

Obama’s presidential chutzpah knows no bounds and his primary impulse is winning above all else. But all this and more should be common knowledge by this time. What is not common knowledge is the extent to which the Cloward-Piven doctrine, which envisions the destruction of a capitalist economy and the democratic state on which it is based by spending the nation into financial collapse, seems to inform the president’s domestic strategy. This is the real meaning of Rahm Emanuel’s aphorism: “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.” Accelerated borrowing and debt, galloping inflation (and its twin, deflation of the currency), unaffordable government-controlled health care and the monopolizing of industries and banks, and endlessly expanding entitlement programs which the nation cannot pay for are the weapons of choice to parlay the “crisis” into the statist takeover of a free market economy. Like Shakespeare’s profligate King Reignier, the president is a man “whose large style/Agrees not with the leanness of his purse.” Those who claim with former director of Citibank, Walter Wriston, that nations, unlike individuals or corporations, do not go bankrupt, should think again. Zimbabwe argues otherwise. The miseries of Argentina between 1999-2002, staggering under the combined weight of unemployment, stagflation, and the flight of capital, furnish a paramount object lesson. Sound familiar?

A nation is not built from cyclopean stone. It is a fragile tissue of shared assumptions about the nature of its history, its social consensus, its cultural and political coherence, and its implicit sense of destiny which is always subject to the threat of unraveling into a tangle of loose strands. This is a process that has been gathering momentum for some time now. It did not begin overnight. We can trace this gradual dénouement (or unknotting) from the “progressive school” of education in the 1920s and 30s with its child-centered deprivileging of hard content in favor of method and personal experience, through the student revolution of the 1960s, to the affirmative action enterprise and self-esteem movement of the latter part of the last century, to the postmodern attack on the concept of verifiable, objective truth and the politicizing of the universities we see today.

Allan Bloom charted the impending disaster in his magisterial The Closing of the American Mind which, despite the beating he took for his views in the liberal press and the politically correct modern academy, was frighteningly prescient. This relentless disintegrative process has now come to fruition. America has been demonstrably Zinned and Zizeked. It is only a poorly educated, materially pampered, emotionally driven, and largely ahistorical electorate that could have put a man like Obama into power — a man, as we have noted, enmeshed in a circle of highly problematic friends and allies, with a very sketchy résumé, a patchy and volatile voting record in the Senate, and ultimately with no visible qualifications for the presidency — on the strength of a few resonant clichés and a skein of empty slogans.

Obama Strategy: Dilute, Pollute, Refute the Rising Wave of Reform

It’s absolutely stunning to see the turn-around in poll numbers as they drop for Barack Obama in just 11 months into his presidency. The number of self-identified Democrats sunk in December to the lowest level recorded in more than seven years of tracking. Senators Chris Dodd (D-Connecticut) and Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota) will not seek re-election. Michigan Democrat Lt. Gov John Cherry has pulled the plug on his campaign for governor and Colorado’s Democrat Governor *Bill Ritter announced that he will not seek re-election. In late December, former Democrat freshman Rep Parker Griffith switched to the Republican party.

The recent victories of Governors-Elect Chris Christie (R-New Jersey) and Bob McDonnell (R-Virginia) indicates good things ahead. The possibility of Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) being elected to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat is thrilling. Conservative and Independent ranks are growing.

The waves of REAL change are washing across America. But will the rising waters of reform be enough to cleanse America’s soul?

Obama and the White House Chicago Boys
Ed Linsky – American Thinker

Signs are emerging that the Chicago Boys — the triumvirate of Obama, Emanuel, and Axlerod — are up to their old tricks, as I touched upon in a previous American Thinker column. My recent interest was piqued by two news items that floated across my screen in the last week.

One was the release of the White House visitor logs that showed visits by Anna Burger, Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and named by Fortune Magazine as “the most powerful woman in the labor movement. ” We know Andy Stern, head of the SEIU, routinely visits the White House and has boasted of the tens of millions of dollars and man-hours the union spent in electing Barack Obama to the presidency. We can expect a repeat performance come 2012.

But Anna Burger is far more than an SEIU honcho; she also is the vice-chairman of a shadowy group called the ” Democracy Alliance,” composed of billionaire funders and savvy political operatives who set out a few years ago to change politics as we know it in America. Among their projects was something called the Secretary of States Project that set about electing secretaries of state in key battleground states.

These are the very officials who are charged with maintaining the integrity of the voting process. Recall the controversies in Ohio and Minnesota — including ACORN problems — regarding the accuracy of the votes in those states last year? The secretaries of state who gave a stamp of approval to these elections (where Democrats won) were Democrats supported by the Democracy Alliance. Various state chapters of the Democracy Alliance have formed to use a range of controversial methods to ensure Democratic victories. (See “The Colorado Model” by Fred Barnes for a display of the type of tactics that can be used to manipulate elections. These include creating faux controversies, spreading them through supposedly non-partisan groups created by Democrat activists, and relying on an echo chamber effect until the mainstream media picks up the “story” and broadcasts it far and wide. Other groups are formed to harass journalists and editorial writers who don’t push the liberal line.)

The Democracy Alliance has helped form front groups to get Democrats elected. David Axelrod is a master at this type of tactic.

The Alliance’s handiwork played a role in the victory of Al Franken over Norm Coleman, which helped secure a sixty-seat majority in the Senate. There was a group — Alliance for a Better Minnesota — that posed as a group of concerned citizens. The Alliance was funded by outsiders, namely the wealthy, hyper-partisan Democrats behind the Democracy Alliance. This was a so-called astrotruf group: it falsely appeared to be a true grassroots effort.

Tellingly, the Obama team has killed off disclosure rules mandating that unions reveal how they spend the billions of their members’ union dues. These, in turn, are often poured into “front groups” and other “funds” each year. Anyone care to wager whether these funds will flow to help Democrats? Thanks to Obama, we will never know. So much for transparency. But we do have change.

The second item that sparked my interest was Obama’s move to ditch the superdelegates’ role in nominating Democratic candidates for the presidency.

These superdelegates include Democratic members of Congress, national party figures, and established leaders of the Democratic Party. They vote at the nominating convention. The system was established in the wake of the 1972 Democratic Party nominating process, when anti-war radicals seized control of the party and ended up nominating George McGovern. The superdelegates were supposed to ensure that radicals did not take over the party’s nominating process. Well, apparently that sort of restraint does not appeal to Obama, who now has taken steps to shape the nominating process to play to his preferred territory: the caucuses, where his brand of populism holds sway. The Wall Street Journal noted the trick:

One reason for the superdelegates in the first place is the disproportionate role of activists in states like Iowa, which rely on caucuses rather than primaries. Mrs. Clinton held in her own in the primary states but Mr. Obama crushed her in the caucus states where his supporters found it easy to dominate proceedings where older and frequently busier people weren’t able to invest the time to counter them. Take the case of Texas, which has both a caucus and a primary: Mrs. Clinton won the state’s primary in which 2.8 million people voted, but Mr. Obama so controlled the caucuses where far fewer people (some 800,000) participated that he ended up with more delegates overall. The new rules, if approved, would likely mean even more of the same.

Since Obama’s policies are sacrificing the careers of Democratic congressmen to fulfill his agenda, these politicians may withhold their support at a future nominating convention. What is the solution? Remove them from the equation by stripping their vote. Out they go, joining the ever-increasing number of bodies under the bus.

Of course, the boys who earned their stripes in the rough-and-tumble world of Chicago politics (where the phrase “vote early and vote often” should be the city’s motto) will not stop there in their drive to win.

Why should they? Customs, rules, ethics, and traditions were thrown under the bus to get ObamaCare bills passed by the House and the Senate. Why stop there when there are so many ways to skin Americans? Skullduggery comes naturally.

There are other cards to play (and Obama is an avid poker player).

How else will the Chicago Boys game the system and gin up victories?

While that [ACORN census] seems to be off the plate for now, there is still the prospect that sampling may be used to collect census figures. That is a statistical method that has been denounced by, among others, John Fund of the Wall Street Journal as a formula that could be abused to exaggerate the number of residents of certain states and municipalities. This would affect the number of House seats awarded to each state. Those figures also play a role in the amount of federal funding flowing to those areas. Those are also the very figures used to determine electoral votes.

Will census figures compiled by community groups chosen by this administration be reliable? Remember that this team earned their stripes in Chicago and has ties to ACORN, which is embroiled in voter registration and other scandals across our nation.

There will be a strong desire to boost numbers in blue states, especially since red states seem poised to pick up seats and electoral votes, as people vote with their feet and move to red states. This won’t do for the Obama team — not at all.

So what to do? Fool ’em with some other numbers, this time the ones with dollar signs in front of them. But the Chicago Boys may have tipped their hands by revealing one of their cards:

The government, reports The Hill newspaper, will target $80 million of those dollars to racial and ethnic minorities and non-English speakers — groups that vote disproportionately Democratic. Nor will Democrats permit efforts to limit the count to those here legally. An effort by Sen. David Vitter (R., La.) to exclude illegal aliens from the count went nowhere.

Illegal aliens don’t (usually) vote of course. But when they are counted in the Census they do affect representation in Congress. So some of the money you pay in taxes will go toward increasing the legislative clout of one party.

And those illegal aliens will also boost electoral votes of those blue states. We can also expect a campaign to allow felons to regain their right to vote. Anything to boost those numbers and rack up some wins.

But wait, there’s more.

The push to “Rahm” through universal voter registration is a ploy ripe for voter fraud, as noted so well by my American Thinker colleague James Simpson in his recent column. This is a proposal to impose a federal mandate regarding voter registration. State laws will be overridden by federal law drafted and passed by Democrats. As John Fund notes:

The feds will tell the states: ‘take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver’s license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be …’

What is the problem? Many of these lists include vast numbers of illegal immigrants, there will be felons, there will be duplicates, and there will be a lot of people who never cared enough about the country or democracy to take the simple steps to register under state laws. What will be the end result? A huge pool of likely Democratic voters will be created out of thin air — and then Obama’s army of volunteers and Democratic Party activists and paid contractors (think ACORN) will shepherd them to the voting booths. Between the pickup at home and the pulling of the lever, a lot of steps can be taken to ensure they vote the left way.

Are there any more ways for Obama and the boys to stack the deck?

Yes! Read more here on how Obama and his boys plan to overcome the rising waves of constitutional conservatism with a tsunami of their own.

Our Crook-in-Chief means to keep his power. Unless we man the fair election life-guard towers and clean up his dirty work, Obama’s sludge of cheating, lying, and diabolical tricks will continue to pollute the waves of REAL change.

Boil, Bubble, Toil and Trouble… Oct. 31st Bewitching Hour for ACORN

Thought all the rot oozing from ACORN would be enough to permanently spook Congress from ever giving them another tax-payer dime? Uh… trick or treat! On October 31, ACORN ghouls get treated to government REfunding while we, the taxpayers, get tricked.

Representative Michele Bachmann (R – Minnesota) speaks with radio KTLK’s Chris Baker on ACORN refunding October 31, 2009:

Homeland Security conjured up $1 million for ACORN during the month of October – for fire prevention. I didn’t know ACORN offices were overgrown with dry brush and filled with gasoline-soaked rags.

For years, ACORN has been funding home loans for illegal aliens and our government has been complicit in ensuring those loans are approved. John Fund (Wall Street Journal) speaks with Fox and Friends’ Steve Doocy, Sept 21, 2009, on the additional rat tails boiling in ACORN’s cauldron:

John Fund:

“Illegal aliens don’t have social security numbers so Acorn provides taxpayer identification numbers to illegal aliens to obtain no-interest loans, no-down payment loans, and all kinds of subsidies.”

“We’ve not learned the mistakes that caused Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to collapse… We are perpetuating these same problems. We are still propping up home mortgages for people who have defaulted. ..The founder of ACORN has a theory; it’s maximum eligible participation in all the government programs. What social radicals want is to change our system by first overloading it with too many clients, too many people getting government benefits. When the system collapses under the dead weight of all those subsidies and these recipients, then they think they can have dramatic social change – bring in a more egalitarian society.”

3f2b4d100538ba10So far, getting caught enabling pimps and prostitutes, instructing clients how to prevent paying taxes, providing sweet-treat home loan deals to illegal aliens, embezzling funds, and rigging elections isn’t enough to break ACORN’s spell over Congress. This reveals how entrenched the mad Democrat scientists on Capitol Hill are. They know toil and trouble lie ahead in 2010, so preserving the Acorn Frankensteins are the reason they continue to huddle in the lab.

Unless we stay awake and keep wailing, the ghosts and goblins of ACORN will haunt us long into the future. For the sake of fair elections, honest mortgage lending purposes, preventing abuse of tax-payer monies, and before our Republic lands six feet under in the graveyard of ‘Death by Corruption,’ please contact your Reps, Senators, and the White House. Urge them to drive a stake through the heart of STOP FUNDING ACORN.
