Romney Heads to England, Israel, Poland: Meeting Cameron, Kenny, Netanyahu, Walesa & More

Governor Mitt Romney is going overseas…

On Tuesday, after delivering a speech in Reno, Nevada to the Veterans of Foreign Wars at their annual conference, Romney will embark on a six-day, full schedule, listening tour to England, Israel, and Poland:

The presumptive Republican nominee and former Massachusetts governor will meet with the leaders of all three countries, other government officials, opposition leaders, and at least one U.S. ambassador. He plans to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics, visit sites of historical significance, and hold public events in at least two of the countries.

Aides say Romney does not view the trip as an opportunity to roll out any new policy proposals. “This trip is an opportunity for the governor to listen and learn, to visit countries that share common values, common interests, and I should say in many cases shared heritage with people here in the United States,” Romney’s policy director, Lanhee Chen, told reporters in a conference call previewing the trip.

… While Romney is likely to highlight differences in his approach to international relations relative to Obama, he is expected to refrain from attacking Obama while traveling abroad.

A preview of The Gov’s itinerary…

England

The Olympic rings are lit up on Tower Bridge in preparation for the start of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, England. The Opening Ceremony takes place Friday, July 27, 2012.

Thursday, July 26, 2012:

Governor Romney will meet with British leaders including, Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Labour Party Leader Ed Miliband, Foreign Secretary William Hague, and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne.

Friday, July 27, 2012:

Romney will meet with Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Later, he’ll meet with U.S. Olympic athletes and attend the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies. USA! USA! USA! (We know the strong passion The Gov has for the Olympics – the spirit of competition – and for the capacity of the games to inspire unity, mutual understanding, and respect across the world. Romney is known for his turnaround of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.) Also, if schedules can be coordinated, he may try to meet with other world leaders who are in London for the Olympics.

Israel

The gleam from the Dome of the Rock reflects the afternoon sun in Jerusalem, Israel. Among the Israeli leaders meeting with Mitt Romney will be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sunday, July 29, 2012:

Romney has been to Israel three times in the past, on a family visit in the late 1990s and, in 2007 and 2011, on fact-finding trips focused on security and economic issues.

On this trip, he’ll meet first with Daniel Shapiro, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, who will give him a briefing. Romney will also meet with Israeli officials including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres, and will also sit down with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. He has met them all on previous trips.

While aides say Romney will not specifically criticize the president’s Middle East policy while he is in Israel, he will continue to make the case for standing with Israel – as he often does on the campaign trail. “America needs to stand by its allies, particularly allies that are under siege like Israel, particularly democratic allies who have such a shared history and shared values with America” Dan Senor, a special adviser on foreign policy, told reporters in previewing Romney’s message.

In an op-ed written yesterday, former U.S. Senator Norm Coleman (GOP) shares the following:

By sheer coincidence, Romney is an old and personal friend of Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Romney’s first job after finishing up at Harvard was at the Boston Consulting Group, and Netanyahu was working there at the time and sat in an office down the hall. The two struck up a friendship and have remained close. If Romney were to become president, it would be an extraordinary chapter in U.S.-Israeli relations.

“There is little precedent,” The New York Times wrote recently, “for two politicians of their stature to have such a history together that predates their entry into government.”

Certainly Israel could use a close friend in the White House these days.

Over the last three years, however, the U.S.-Israeli relationship has been troubled.

President Obama does not seem to have personal affection for the Jewish state. He has publicly castigated Israel, including at the United Nations. He was caught on a hot microphone denigrating Israel’s prime minister, and when Netanyahu came to Washington he received him with marked coolness, neglecting to hold the customary joint news conference before asking the Israeli leader to exit through a rear door.

Romney will also deliver remarks while in Israel.

Poland

The skyline over Gdansk, Poland turns a rosy hue at dusk. Governor Romney will meet with Poland’s former President Lech Walesa in the port city.

Monday, July 30, 2012:

Romney’s final destination is Poland, where he will meet with the current leadership, including President Bronislaw Komorowski, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. Romney will also meet with Lech Walesa, the former Polish president and winner of the 1983 Nobel Peace Prize. Walesa, who was president from 1990 to 1995 and oversaw Poland’s transition out of communism, was the one who invited Romney to visit his country.

Ian Brzezinski, another Romney adviser, said the visit to Poland will highlight an important alliance that is “rich in history” — from Polish support for the American revolution all the way through Iraq and Afghanistan, where the country has sent troops to assist in the U.S.-led war efforts. Romney will also point to country’s economic success, which he will say stems from free market principles and capitalism – the themes he pushes on the campaign trail at home.

“This is a country that stands in sharp contrast economically to the rest of Europe where economies are dropping by about 5% or more,” Brzezinski told reporters.

Romney will also deliver remarks and visit historical sights in Poland. The ‘Lech Walesa Institute’ said in a statement that Governor Romney is visiting Poland by special invitation, issued to him at the beginning of the month, by President Walesa:

Poland and Poles are paying close attention to the election campaign in the United States, focused on choosing a leader for the American nation for the next four years,” Walesa wrote in the invitation dated July 4.

Their choice will influence the fate of America and the world.

Walesa refused to meet with Obama last year, saying “It doesn’t suit me.”

Romney’s invitation from freedom-fighter Walesa is, indeed, a high honor.

This will be a memorable week for Mitt and Ann as they find themselves in the international spotlight. It’s another opportunity for world leaders and the good people in England, Israel, and Poland to see that the USA has an opportunity, through Mitt Romney, to elect a strong, seasoned statesman who will once again respect our allies, strengthen our partnerships, and instill renewed confidence in the mighty cause of freedom.

To Mitt and Ann, Godspeed!

Obama’s “You Didn’t Build That!” Defining Moment – Govt Supreme or Govt Subordinate?

A Clear Choice

Thank you Barack Obama for waking up America and exposing who you really are, albeit through a small crack in the window! The internet is now abuzz with pictures and commentary about Obama’s comment, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” Appreciating Mr. Obama’s statement, the contrast for America is a little clearer; for those on the fence, or those who have been wondering – they now have a better vision of the distinction between Governor Romney and Barack Obama. Even so, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If Obama talks unscripted long enough who knows what more he will reveal – keep talking!

Barack Obama – Recent Revelatory statements.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

“Yes, there have been fierce arguments throughout our history between both parties about the exact size and role of government — some honest disagreements. But in the decades after World War II, there was a general consensus that the market couldn’t solve all of our problems on its own.”

“… Even my Republican friends who complain the most about government spending have supported federally financed roads and clean energy projects and federal offices for the folks back home. The point is, we should all want a smarter, more effective government.”

Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy, where a lack of spending leads to lost jobs which leads to even less spending.”

We are either a society that empowers people and recognizes a government subordinate; a government that is of, by and for the people – or we are a society that believes government to be supreme and sovereign where the people are subordinate. It is America’s choice, and that choice is clear!

Surely there are many whose dependency upon government and want for entitlement will cause them to vote for Mr. Obama; but when we become a ‘purchased’ and/or ‘dependent’ society (in the majority) we will have lost our freedoms and liberty; we will have become oppressed, subordinate and held hostage to a failed and unsustainable society in bondage.

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years.

During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage

This is our defining moment!

Although we have known that Barack Obama believes the solution to the ills of our society is bigger and more intrusive government, his actions reveal an even more destructive and socialistic agenda. Whether in his imperialistic edicts and czar appointments that obviate Congressional and Constitutional authority; overburdening society with untenable and oppressive debt; neutering and subordinating America on the world stage; fracturing society through heightened class warfare; or creating a “purchased or dependent society” through government largesse, in each instance Mr. Obama elevates his socialistic agenda. Clearly we can see in Obama’s recent comments that government is the solution to all ills, and this will wake up many in America. However, the challenge remains whether our society will see the depth of his destructive agenda? What is clear is what Obama wants for America is not what American’s want for America.

Private Equity Deceptions?

Bewildered or Deceptive?

The failure of President Obama and his advocates, including the mainstream media, to understand economics 101 is distressing to say the least. Whether it is intentional duplicity, guile, or dishonesty on his part, or just plain ignorance because he doesn’t understand – it is disconcerting and frightening that our President would be so irresponsible as to lead American’s astray from truth!

Recent attacks against free enterprise and private equity by Barack Obama and his apologists are the tip of the iceberg and reflect an underlying agenda that is alarming. Even so, let’s address the attacks with substance and truth. The attacks are seeking to vilify the free enterprise system, private equity investors, and specifically Mitt Romney because of his business success. Barack Obama wants to disparage those who have been successful in business and fails to realize that rising tides float all boats. It is the foundation for his class warfare argument! Truth is, if we do not have a successful free enterprise system, no one, and I mean no one benefits. If we disrupt the balance and supplant the free enterprise system with government, we all lose and the middle class will disappear – in fact, we will elevate the impoverished. It is in our free enterprise system, and it’s success, that we overcome poverty. Why else have we seen nations around the world, even socialistic and communistic nations, adopt free enterprise? Within this context, free enterprise and private equity are synonymous.

Private equity in its simplest form is the foundation of free enterprise and economic markets. Anyone who invests capital directly into a business with a hoped for economic return is engaged in some form or degree of private equity. Whether you are Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, the owner of a small business selling jewelry out of your home, or a large private equity fund, you invest time and capital into building a business and making it successful – this is basis for the private equity markets. Interestingly, you may not even be aware that you are a private equity investor. If you have pension or retirement funds (IRA or 401k) and are invested in the debt or equity markets, you are participating in private equity investments in one form or another; if you have donated to a charity or not-for-profit you may be, tangentially, a private equity investor; it is only a matter of degree. Private equity investors are individuals, pension funds, charitable funds, educational foundations, governments, corporations, etc., each of whom provide capital to build and sustain free enterprise markets and businesses. That said, no one invests their money with an expectation to fail, only to succeed; and success comes with sustainability and a return of capital and then some. The role of government is not to constrain these markets, but to encourage and expand them. For in such we see the ‘private equity multiplier effect.’ The ‘private equity multiplier effect’ is most easily seen in job creation, wealth creation and innovation.

Mitt Romney creates billions of dollars for others

Mitt Romney’s self-made business successes have come under attack from President Obama. We read that his success has created personal wealth estimated at $350+ million. What isn’t discussed are the billions of dollars of wealth created for so many others. What Mitt Romney garnered in wealth from his business success is nominal compared to what he has created for so many others, including pension fund and retirement accounts for many Americans, charities, employers, employees, individual investors and shareholders, and businesses. If one understands the multiplier effect of wealth creation, this means that in his career, Mitt Romney has had a profound and extended impact in the lives of innumerable Americans – far beyond the 100,000 jobs created in and as a result of his work.

The President of the United States has available to him the full resource of the United States. He has access to the brightest and most capable economic minds on the planet, and yet he doesn’t understand basic economics? He doesn’t understand the private equity multiplier effect? Or, he does and deliberately seeks to misinform the public? Either way, it is irresponsible and/or dishonest! The President of the United States is held to a higher standard. As a people we entrust him with the burden of care and stewardship to lead with integrity. We trust him to put country above self, and not subordinate American’s to ignorance, deception and deceit for personal power or position. He has a sacred trust and stewardship to lead with integrity and truth. This is a standard that all who have been elected to public office must abide. Even so, many don’t, and neither is this President.

It has been said that the fear of losing the office of POTUS is greater than the want to secure it; and it is becoming more and more apparent that Barack Obama, and those who advocate for him, are willing to abandon truth and integrity in an effort to preserve power and position. Their want for power and position, and willingness to do whatever it takes to preserve it, is frightening given the agenda they hold to neuter and undermine America’s divine exceptionalism and freedoms.

Fundamental to America’s economic strength, and consequentially our freedom, is our adoption of free enterprise and “free markets”. Free enterprise embodies the principles espoused in our Nation’s founding documents, wherein we are empowered with the agency to choose and act, within the bounds of nature’s law. In free enterprise, we act on principles embodied in such and granted by “nature’s God”, the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Barack Obama should be ashamed!

With the alarming news today from the CBO, the real and urgent need for America’s business leaders to boldly fight their way to the front lines on Capitol Hill couldn’t be more clear. Good Ship America is sinking under the crippling cargo of burgeoning debt, harmful business regulations, heavy taxation, squandering of federal monies, crony capitalism, trade imbalances, dependence on foreign oil, and a growing entitlement mentality.

Obamanomics and anti-capitalist rhetoric, combined with class warfare, are tonnage that makes it almost impossible to come up for air.

Today’s endorsement from Donald Trump, whose name brand is known throughout the world, shines a spotlight on growing support for Romney from America’s job creators, entrepreneurs, risk-takers, small business owners, large industry leaders, venture capitalists, and more. It’s a call for all capitalist hands on deck.

Keep the American Dream alive.

Jack Welch: “Mitt Romney, the best I have ever seen!” Gingrich’s Opus: “The Audacity of Capitalism”

Jack Welch is the former Chairman and CEO of General Electric. The 77 year old businessman gave what I think is the single best endorsement of Governor Romney that I have ever seen. This interview, given to Piers Morgan Monday night, is extraordinary on all counts. This clip is only 2:22 minutes in length, but look at the expressions, enthusiasm, and excitement! Rarely do you ever see a man pushing 80 this excited about anything. Literally every phrase and sentence ends with an exclamation point. The best part is at 1:50.

Following are just a few quotes by Mr. Welch from the interview. This video is extraordinary. Watch this short video clip ————————————>

Jack Welch, Former CEO of General Electric

“In this case, [Mitt Romney] really is perfect as a candidate for President of the United States, in these tough economic times!”

“As a presidential candidate, Mitt Romney is the best I have ever seen in the last 50 years!”

“Piers, you pick one person who is better than Romney!”

“You really can’t challenge my statement and pick a better candidate!”

“Look at his background!”

- – - – - SEE WHAT OBAMA IS UP TO BELOW THE FOLD – - – - -

Gingrich has completely lost it I think. Seriously! Quoting incessantly from The New York Times during the debate and in his townhall meetings? Gingrich and Perry are so desperate they are morphing before our eyes into the perfect Obama lemmings. Shills both. Maybe Perry and Gingrich are planning to co-author a new book titled, THE AUDACITY OF CAPITALISM. What do you think? I heard they have reached out to Obama’s publisher for ideas. Brilliant! Perry took the lead with the idea but Gingrich thinks himself smarter and told Perry he was his junior.

In all seriousness, I honestly believe that Gingrich has cast the dye for himself in history this week. As I have said many times in this forum, Gingrich’s peak as a presidential candidate was December 13th, his lucky day. Had he stopped speaking at that moment, he might still be in the hunt. I believe that Gingrich is allowing his wife and others to temper his temper while he expresses anger in the form of vengeance by spending millions in petty immaturity. In days to come, he will probably tell us again that he has matured since he now has grandchildren. Whatever goodwill he developed as Speaker of the House will soon be completely diminished by his base emotions in pursuit of revenge. The irony is that his rhetoric and actions will likely help Governor Romney’s candidacy as Americans are offended by Gingrich’s frontal attack of capitalism. It would not surprise me at all if we witness a backlash in the voting.

Consider that yesterday alone, at least 18 major news sources reported capitalism under attack by Gingrich or Perry or both. Extraordinary no matter how you cut it (see Jayde’s article below for greater detail of these). All 18 are listed here as follows:

Club For Growth’s Chris Chocola: “Newt Gingrich’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital are disgusting. … Attacking Governor Romney for participating in free-market capitalism is just beyond the pale for any purported ‘Reagan Conservative.’ Newt Gingrich should stop his attacks on free markets and apologize to Governor Romney for them.” (Club For Growth, Press Release, 1/9/12)

Gingrich…”Talking about Capitalism like it was a Serial Killer!” — “STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!”

And this is the guy some people in Iowa are lining up behind? I must admit: I really don’t get it!

Dennis Miller cracks me up — partly because he always seems to crack himself up! No need to watch the entire 6+ minutes here; the best part of tonight’s “Miller Time” is the first 2:20 minutes. I do think that Mr. Gingrich’s “staff” as he likes to refer to them (it is more in character for him to refer to them as his minions), is in the process of child-proofing his campaign. Oh, wait a minute, there should be no need for that — at age 68, he told us he has “matured” in the last few years; he’s a grandfather, right? Newt’s campfire is starting to fade to smolder. Did I get this right? Did Miller call him “Goot” instead of Newt? “In the space of one week, he reminds me that he is still Newt Gingrich…” I love his comment about “the smart money” — “those smart guys.”

Miller gets it now.

By the way, Intrade has been moving wildly in favor of Romney since yesterday. Just since I started writing this, Romney went from 51.8% to 55.0% (Mitt Romney to be Republican Nominee in 2012). Gingrich has dropped from near 40% last Sunday to 25.0% at this writing. Last Sunday, the spread between the two closed to about five points. The spread right now is 30 points — that move was in two days! Again, I could be wrong, but I honestly believe that when we look back, we will see that 12/13/11 was the day Gingrich peaked in the polls.

Mitt Romney can be trusted — he is absolutely trustworthy. Newt Gingrich cannot be trusted and most knowledgeable people know that. The rest (like Miller) are finding out this week.

“Men make history and not other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.”Harry S. Truman

Is Greece Our Future? Obama Voters: Buyer’s Remorse

Watching the riots in economically gasping Greece is like rubbing the dust off a crystal ball and seeing our future.

May 6, 2010

If we don’t change course – halt/reverse Obama’s egregious policies, America will be forever changed. We have two chances to hoist the USA back from the socialist abyss – 2010 and 2012.

Good news… Additional help may be on its way. Repentant Obama voters are expanding their ranks. Seems the magic spell of ‘hope and change’ wasn’t what they wished for after all. I Am Sorry I Voted For Obama is a website that solicits stories from former Obama supporters who are no longer proud of their decision. We heartily invite disaffected Obama voters to join our cause! Every liberty-loving American is needed! Roll up your sleeves and help us win congressional seats this fall and two years hence.

I thought I was voting for someone from outside the old school political machine…. well I guess I got a whole new steam roller…. that rolled right over the Constitution.

America…. I am so sorry.

We have some very bright friends who didn’t really LISTEN to what Obama was saying during the campaign and who didn’t think his past associations made any difference. They were caught up in the American Idol nature of the whole thing and the desire to “Make History” Just like the media, they failed to ask “what do you mean by “transforming the United States?” They failed to ask what he meant by “redistribution of wealth.” They failed to ask about his mentors. They failed to ask about anything….they were just in love. Now reality has hit…the bumper stickers are gone from their cars, they refuse to discuss political issues, preferring to change the subject. Are they sorry? You betcha!

I am a member of an interracial family. With that being said, I really don’t care what your skin color is, you fall into three categories in my life – good, bad, and questionable. The only factor that determines this are ethics and morality. My father-in-law, who I am very close with, voted for Obama; mainly because he was black. Many people did in the name of “ending racism”. Isn’t that terribly ironic and hypocritical? At any rate, Pops told me the other day after we were discussing and agreeing on our very conservative, yet independent, values, that he regrets deeply voting for Obama. The man that spoke so eloquently about change, transparency, fairness, and equality has shown us just the opposite. And to think, I almost believed it too. McCain got my vote. And I will be putting very good money on, my entire family voting against him this year.

Embarrassed from somewhere, Missouri 2010-01-14
I did not vote for him, but my best friends’ son was brain washed at college and now he says he is sorry he wasted his vote on him.

I voted for Obama and regret that decision everyday. I now come to realize that my daughter and her children will be paying most of their income in taxes. I realize that he is taking away our freedoms. The health bill is horrible. We will be taxed to death to pay for it and will have inferior health care. I wish I could take my vote back.

Oliver from Glendale, Arizona 2010-03-25
I’m sorry I voted for Obama. I wanted hope and change. Well I’ve been seeing a lot of change, all of it for the worse. What I’m hoping for now is that the change will stop.

Despite our collective dismay at the recent turn of events, there are a few good things that we can learn: 1. People are getting re-acquainted with our Constitution and the principle on which this country were founded. And they are discovering that we ARE unique in this world. To implement European style legislation would make us exactly like that from which we fled over 200 years ago. We are special and don’t let anyone tell you differently.2. DO YOUR RESEARCH! The information was out there during the campaign but the majority of Americans wouldn’t put any stock in it. Some of us knew from which Pres. ZERO came from. He surrounded himself with and was influenced by socialists his entire life. He was taught to hate this country from an early age. It’s true that you are who you associate with. Please – in the future let’s all do our homework diligently and not get our info from SNL and Jon Stewart.

I didn’t vote for him, wife and several friends did and they are so embarrassed they won’t even talk about it. How sad is it?

Erin from Anywhere, North Carolina 2010-03-21
As a college student, I got caught up in the hope and change message that Obama was feeding to others my age. I knew our country needed change, but I was so swept up in the novelty of Obama that I failed to look at the issues. Now that I have transitioned into the “real world,” I have to take care of myself and have realized that while I like to help others, I am not for the forced “spreading of the wealth” that Obama is shoving down our throat. Watching our Constitution get flushed down the toilet is devastating.

I am very sorry I voted for Obama. It was my first Presidential Election that I was able to vote in…I think I got caught up in the Obama Hoopla on campus of the college I go to…I have learned to do my own research for future elections and listen to my parents!

Scott Wynn from Festus, Missouri 2010-01-24
In my opinion it was the far left media propaganda that swept Obama into office. His victory has encouraged the anti-American left to shove their socialist agendas down the throat of Americans. This is what I regret the most about voting for him. America is in having a huge economic crisis and the only help that this administration can offer is to blame the previous administration, while they work to propagate their leftist agenda instead of refocusing their attention to what really matters right now, and that is the economy. America, let’s hope we can turn this around soon and not be fooled by the far left again in the future.

Jared from Lemont, Illinois 2010-01-08
I was completely convinced real change was coming. Obama promised ‘No Lobbyist’ but his administration has hired more lobbyist than any President before him. Obama has literally sold Washington. I guess the more things “change” the more they stay the same.

Chris from Feeding Hills, Massachusetts 2010-01-01
I must admit (rather sheepishly) that I was sucked into the Obama hype…one of the most regretful decisions I’ve ever made. Should have totally seen this coming…especially from a Democrat. Spending $$ we don’t have, setting my kid’s generation up for disaster…I should’ve known better. I AM SORRY!! :-(

Is Capitalism the Enemy?

Barack Obama chastised the United States (again) and apologized (again) to the UN General Assembly for the US being the leader of the world. Which comes as no surprise whatsoever. After all, Barack Obama sees America as an imperialistic war-mongering, slavery burdened bully. The same way all Marxist thugs see it, which is why Castro, Ghadafi, Chavez and all the others shower praise upon the crowned prince, Obama. (“We are content and happy if Obama can stay forever as American president”) So really, speech #68 in the Obama Apology World Tour is not exactly news is it?

Meanwhile climate change, the greatest hoax in American history (other than Obama himself), continues to be the focus of his apologetic sorry-mongering.

However, the legitimacy of global warming is irrelevant to what is really at the heart of the argument. The President has no intention of reducing “carbon pollution” or curbing rising temperatures. Those things do not exist. They are simply a means to an end. In fact, the world is not warming, and there is not imminent catastrophe awaiting us 4 months, 4 years, or 10 years down the road. The very fact that these alarmists cannot even agree on the date for our demise should raise red flags in the realms of common sense and logical thought. Are we so arrogant as to think that 100 years of industrial activity is bringing an abrupt end to a planet that has survived and thrived for billions of years?

And disregard the fact that the same people crowing about climate change today are the same people who claimed the coming of an imminent demise, brought about by mass freezing and over-population as recently as the 1970s. They were spectacularly wrong. If there is a credibility shortfall in the climate change argument, the prophets of the movement need not look any further than their own publications as to why that shortfall exists.

However, saving the planet is cover for controlling the masses.

An intrusive government has always sought to control its citizens. Whether the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Castro’s Cuba or modern-day Venezuela, the end is the same: government control. And today the United States is following along that road, using “climate change” as the vehicle for “progress”. That, along with health care reform, soda and cigarette taxes, cash for clunkers (you must, after all, drive the proper kind of car) and a host of other social justice and global salvatory regulations that are meaningless and ridiculous. And when those vehicles stall, then blatant thuggery fills the gap. Just ask Humana.

Steven Chu, the president’s energy secretary showed his hand recently when he, speaking about climate change, declared that the “American public … just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act. The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.”

And who better than to teach us the error of our ways, to tell us how to act, than Barack Obama. The Simba to Ted Kennedy’s Mufasa. The intellectual golden tongued phenomenon. The One. Who are we to question the wisdom of this Harvard educated, international superstar? We are but witless subjects standing helpless and hapless, barefoot and disheveled with a dirty hand outstretched and begging “please sir, may I have some more?”

To oppose him is to foster racism and hate and irrational, dim-witted fallacy. To oppose Barack Obama is akin to murder and genocide. The very essence of hate-speech is to question our Dear Leader. An offense that ought to be punishable with a public stoning.

But I digress. Slightly.

What exactly is the president up to? He declared with impunity his intention to “fundamentally transform the United States”. Transform into what?

His history and his associations give us a clue. As a community organizer his job was to agitate and to create a climate of crisis. To, as has been the stated goals of his mentors, flood the welfare rolls creating so much dependency that they collapse the capitalistic system in the United States.

As always, the enemy for the left is capitalism.

In the end the line in the sand is drawn between climate change (and all that goes with it) and capitalism. As the sanctimonious, and asinine “The Story of Stuff” demonstrates, our social and environmental ills all stem from capitalistic failure, selfish profiteering and the all encompassing, universal evil of consumption.

And that is the new American debate.

Are we willing to forgo a system of economic and social liberty that has given rise to the greatest nation in the history of the Earth for a nanny-state mediocrity ruled by anointed intellectuals who have never, at any point in the morality tales of their lives held a normal, private sector job? Do any “Progressives” know where money comes from? Or is it simply enough, within the social circles of Washington and New York City to demean and condemn the existence, creation, and gathering of money? All while attending a party at a city high rise, smugly sipping expensive drinks and eating imported caviar.

Our president believes that economic and personal freedom is unjust and unfair. The disparity in results which arise from human effort, ingenuity and luck are a disease and plague that have created a nation of selfish, petty, hateful white males. His entire life has been spent agitating people to act on this fallacy, this lie. It ought to come as no surprise that this is the narrative that is emerging from his fledgling presidency.

The fundamental transformation Barack Obama spoke of is the calculated demise of capitalism and American prosperity.
