Spend an Evening with Governor Romney + Entertainment!

Mitt Romney in CA one last time Monday, September 17th

This is your last chance! September 17th! Governor Romney will attend one last event in California before the presidential election. Previous receptions in California filled up fast, but this event has a little more capacity. We are entering the home stretch and Governor Romney needs your support now more than ever. Barack Obama will be throwing everything he can get his hands on at Governor Romney in the next 60 days and he will not hold back.

This special reception will be like no other previous event for Mitt Romney. This will be a wonderful night to not only hear Governor Romney speak, but to meet him, and be entertained by two great performers!

Special guests: David Foster discovered Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Michael Buble and is a 16 time Grammy Award winning songwriter. I attended an event two years ago at which he was the featured guest and it was by far the best political event I have ever attended because of how entertaining he was! Also, Terry Fator will be entertaining. He is best known for his uncanny celebrity impressions and signature puppets in his Las Vegas shows.

The venue is the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. It is one of the very best venues for entertainment in America.

This is a fund raising event. Obviously, the intent of this reception is to help Governor Romney raise adequate funds to challenge the incumbent, Barack Obama. Mr. Obama’s advantages are enormous when considering his unlimited use of Air Force One and all the resources of The White House.

This is a critical time in our nation’s life. In my lifetime, I have never seen a presidential election of this importance. I strongly believe that Mitt Romney is by far the most qualified, experienced, and prepared American to ever run for President of the United States. We need his leadership and character attributes now more than ever in the history of this nation. Please do whatever you can right away to enlist as many others to contribute now in support of Mitt Romney at this important crossroads. I am most grateful for any efforts you can make in this regard.

If you have any doubt about what we are up against with a man that will do anything to retain power, read Jeff Fuller’s extraordinary piece in which he exposes how the Democrats at the DNC protested when the party placed “God” and “Jerusalem as capital of Israel” back into their platform. If this video does not motivate you to help Governor Romney at this critical juncture, nothing will.

If you live in another state and therefore cannot attend, do you have relatives or friends from California that need to be there? Is there a chance you will be traveling to California in 12 days on business and can attend? (Segerstrom is within two miles of John Wayne Airport) Governor Romney needs your help now. Please tell all your friends about this fun evening with Governor Romney.

To secure tickets now, please contact Steve Samuelian by sending him a short note requesting details of the event and he will send the details to you right away. Steve’s email address is: stevesamuelian1@gmail.com . . . Since this is Governor Romney’s very last California event before becoming President of the United States, we expect a great deal of interest and hope you can join us there!

Please?

If you cannot attend and are not able to contribute at this time, would you please help us get this message out far and wide for Governor Romney? Would you please get all your Facebook friends and Twitter followers to promote this event and retweet it many times over the next week? Your time and effort in social media can and will make a huge difference!

And THANK YOU so much!

Two Fmr Secty’s of State, Condoleeza Rice & George Shultz, Endorse Romney

At a fundraiser in California last night, Condoleeza Rice, former Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, and George Shultz, former Secretary of State under President Ronald Reagan, officially backed Governor Mitt Romney’s bid for the White House:

A few comments from Rice:

“It’s a delight to see so many friends…I’ve now been out of Washington for over three years…how much fun it is when you know you could be in Washington, but you’re here. My life has changed a lot. Now, I get up in the morning and I read the newspaper and I say…isn’t that interesting? “Because I’m no longer responsible for what’s in it.”

“We care about the future of this country, and the future of our world,’’ she said, and I’m “delighted to join so many friends here in supporting, and in my case, endorsing, Gov. Mitt Romney for President of the United States.”

“Today, more than ever, we need U.S. leadership to affirm that the future belongs to free markets and free peoples.”

“To regain that leadership, we’ve got to first and foremost defend the country,’’ she said. After 911, the country was safe because “it was not because the terrorists weren’t trying, it was because of the vigilance…because men and women volunteer to defend us at the front lines of freedom, and we owe them our eternal gratitude.”

More Rice: “We have to defend the country, not just from strength and power, but from a sense of values of who we are,’’ she said. “Friends, who just want to know, that when the chips are down, we are going to be there for them….and that indeed we know the difference between friend and foe.”

More Rice: “The President of the United States has to understand that the American people have a view…and that our leadership can not be (reduced to) “the lowest common denominator postions.”

“The only thing the American people dislike more” than weak leadership, she said, “is no leadership at all.”

“America’s leadership “is craved in the world, and Gov. Romney, you can bring it back,’’ she said to applause. . . .

A few comments from Shultz:

George Shultz and President Ronald Reagan

George Shultz, secretary of state under Ronald Reagan, also endorsed the presumptive nominee at the fundraiser. In his speech, he defended Romney’s record as an executive at Bain Capital LLC, a Boston-based private equity firm.

“What he has done at Bain Capital has been a major contribution to the American economy,” said Shultz, who also served in the cabinet of Richard Nixon with Romney’s father, George.

Venture capital firms “help make our economy more competitive; they learn how to keep costs under control; they are the kind of people who help figure out where to put investments,” Shultz said.

“He has learned and instinctively can feel what it takes to get this huge amount of money that is sitting on the sidelines of our economy to move forward and invest,” he said.

These two endorsements – from two of America’s most powerful and respected arbiters of foreign policy – are very significant pluses for Governor Romney.

THANK YOU to @Jim_Peoples_ (The Hammer) for the following image by way of update:

A few years back, I took my three teenage children to a speech by a United State Marine Corps colonel in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The day was Memorial Day, a Monday holiday. That was instead of our usual trip to the beach. They protested at first, but later understood better why the day is set aside for us nationally.

Years ago, my wife, son, and I visited the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Below are some of the many inscriptions we found there:

“TO THESE WE OWE THE HIGH RESOLVE
THAT THE CAUSE FOR WHICH THEY DIED
SHALL LIVE”.

“THESE ENDURED ALL AND GAVE ALL
THAT JUSTICE AMONG NATIONS MIGHT
PREVAIL AND THAT MANKIND MIGHT
ENJOY FREEDOM AND INHERIT PEACE”.

Interested Californians? March 27th in Irvine

The Orange County Register is a conservative (they say libertarian) newspaper covering southern California. They ran an article yesterday referring to the March 27th event in Irvine:

Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney will be coming to Orange County next Tuesday to bolster his campaign purse, with a fundraising luncheon at a private home in Irvine’s exclusive Shady Canyon.
[...]
I’m tracking down whether Romney will hold any public events, if I can get an interview, and whether I can post the information here on how to contact the fundraiser.

No need to wait for details from The Register reporter. Just contact Amanda and she will get you all dialed in. She informs me she has a few slots left ———> CONTACT AMANDA

Two New Videos from the Romney Campaign and MittFitts Releases a New Cartoon

MittFitts releases a new cartoon that illustrates a major problem with the Rick Perry campaign:

Bringing up the topic of immigration in the last debate was not a good idea for Gov. Perry. I wonder where the liberals in California got all their bad ideas? Rick Perry was first to give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. He approved taxpayer-funded state aid for illegal immigrants attending college. CareerPolitician.com welcomes Governor Perry to California with this new video.

Also, somehow we missed this short clip from Gov. Romney’s youtube channel simply replaying President Obama’s own words followed by a quick reminder to visit the ever-growing Obama Isn’t Working website.

President Obama doesn’t even realize his own words are defining his failures as a leader.

Obama Heads West, Romney Campaign Releases Video “Welcome to Nevada, Pres Obama”

President Obama is heading west today to continue hammering his American Jobs Act in Las Vegas, before journeying on to California.

‘Romney For President’ is a step ahead of him and has released a new web video entitled Welcome to Nevada, President Obama.

Romney Endorsed by Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman House Oversight Committee

Hot Air notices that conservatives are beginning to coalesce around Mitt!

Darrell Issa R-CA, Chairman of the House Government Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has endorsed Governor Mitt Romney. 9/22/11

What a great way to start a presidential debate day…

A big endorsement for Mitt Romney is sweetening the day for us; it comes from Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA):

Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today announced the support of California Congressman Darrell Issa.

As someone who shares my background in business, Congressman Issa understands that we need to make fundamental changes in Washington,” said Mitt Romney. “I am proud to have his support, and look forward to working with him as I campaign in California and work to bring jobs back to the state and strengthen the American economy.”

Announcing his support, Congressman Issa said, “As a former businessman, I know that Mitt Romney is the right candidate to get both California and the country’s economy on the right track again. The country would be well served to have someone who knows how the economy works and has worked in the private sector. President Obama never worked in the real economy – we can’t afford to have another president who has spent his career outside the real economy.”

(emphasis added)

Background on Congressman Darrell Issa:

Congressman Darrell Issa Is The Chairman Of The House Oversight And Government Reform Committee. Congressman Issa was first elected in 2000 and serves California’s 49th District. Congressman Issa is the former CEO of Directed Electronics, the maker of the Viper anti-theft system.

*Note: The House Oversight and Government Reform committee is the main investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives charged with the protecting the interests of U.S. taxpayers and eliminating waste, fraud and abuse in the federal bureaucracy.

From Politico Morning Score:

Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, will endorse Mitt Romney ahead of tonight’s debate in Florida. Issa’s battles with the White House have made him a hero to conservatives. The endorsement is doubly significant because Issa backed John McCain last time, and his rags-to-riches story gives him credibility with the GOP donor class. Romney sees him as an important asset in California.

CA Congressman Wally Herger Endorses Mitt Romney

Wally Herger, Republican CA Congressman, has endorsed Mitt Romney. 9/21/11

Another endorsement for Mitt Romney today comes from The Golden State:

I am proud to earn the support of Congressman Herger,” said Mitt Romney. “I am looking forward to working with him to move this country forward and ensure Californians and all Americans get working again.”

Announcing his support, Congressman Herger said “Governor Romney’s experience in both the private and public sectors are what make him the best candidate to defeat President Obama in 2012. As governor, he balanced the state’s budget and built up a $2 billion rainy-day fund without raising taxes. That is the kind of experience we need in the White House.”

Background on Congressman Wally Herger:

Congressman Herger Represents California’s 2nd District. He currently serves as Chairman of the Health Subcommittee and as a member on the House Committee on Ways and Means and Subcommittee on Trade.

California: Romney Raises Cash, Talks Jobs & Economy

Mitt Romney has been in The Golden State for the last couple of days…

On Friday (9/16/11), weight-loss maven Jenny Craig held a breakfast reception at her Carlsbad, CA home for Governor Romney:

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is hosting a slim fundraiser on Friday — a breakfast reception at the home of Jenny Craig, “featuring Jenny’s special oatmeal pancakes.” Sounds healthy! But Waffle House CEO Joe Rogers and the founders of Panda Express are Romney backers too, so he’s probably going to binge later.

Saturday morning, another fundraising breakfast was held for The Gov at the home of James and Kristine Maxwell in Fresno, CA. Afterwards, a meet-and-greet was held for him by Richard and Karen Spencer at Harris Construction in Fresno. He also paid a visit to Bakersfield, CA.

Mitt Romney makes fundraising stop in Fresno - Shannon Handy

Mitt Romney arrived to a Northwest Fresno home early Saturday morning accompanied by Meg Whitman. Last year, she lost to Democrat, Jerry Brown in the California governor’s race.

After making their way inside Romney greeted more than 300 people who each paid 500 dollars to eat breakfast and hear him speak.

Richard Evans said, “It was a great message. Encouragement. He’s excited about the country. He loves America and that’s what we need in a president.”

Guests tell Action News Romney talked about the importance of free enterprise and putting people back to work.

The former Massachusetts governor spent years working in the private sector and often touts his role in creating thousands of jobs.

Jill Bechard said, “I thought his message was right on target. I’m a business woman, I run a credit union and we just need folks back there in Washington to understand that they’ve got to free up the business community and that’s what he was talking about.”

As stated in the video, Rick Perry was in Fresno last week for a fundraiser. Here’s how it went:

By the accounts of a few who attended, Texas governor and Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry was impressive at his Downtown Club fundraiser last week. The problem was hardly anybody attended — and that, obviously, isn’t good when the event is a fundraiser.

Two who attended put the number at less than 40, and that counts some who came for free and others who were part of the event.

Romney Receives CA Endorsements, Leads in all 5 GOP Early States

Mitt Romney stands in front of fence separating the U.S. from Mexico with former CA Assemblyman Tony Strickland (now CA Senator) and CA Senator Mark Wyland in San Diego, CA (8/13/07). Yesterday, Romney received endorsements from a group of CA politicians, including Strickland and Wyland.

From prestigious California endorsements yesterday to strong polling results in Florida, Mitt Romney is making coast-to-coast news.

From The Golden State: Romney Racks Up Endorsements for 2012

Mitt Romney is solidifying his status as front-runner in the GOP presidential nomination race. On Thursday, he picked up the backing of a group of Californians[...]

That includes House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon and Rep. Mary Bono Mack of the state’s contingent in Washington. The group also comprises state Senate GOP Leader Bob Dutton, state Sens. Tony Strickland, Sharon Runner, Bob Huff, Sam Blakeslee and Mark Wyland; and Assemblymen Paul Cook and Jim Silva.

McKeon cited Romney’s strength on economic issues in his endorsement. “President Obama’s policies have failed California and the country,” McKeon said. “Mitt Romney has a proven record of job creation in both the private sector and as a governor.” McKeon also supported Romney in 2008.

(emphasis added)

Bob Dutton also added: “Mitt Romney knows how the economy works and he has the much-needed experience to lead the country out of the economic downturn.”

From The Sunshine State: Romney Leads the Way in Florida (PPP poll)

Mitt Romney has a double digit lead for the Republican Presidential nomination in Florida, further cementing his front runner status in the wake of Mike Huckabee’s exit from the race.

Romney is at 27% to 17% for Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, 10% for Herman Cain, 8% for Newt Gingrich, 7% for Ron Paul, 4% for Tim Pawlenty, and 2% for Jon Huntsman.

Romney now has the outright lead in PPP’s most recent polls in all 5 of the key early Republican contests: in addition to the Florida advantage he’s up by 9 in South Carolina, 6 in Iowa, 15 in Nevada, and 23 in New Hampshire.
[...]
Romney’s Florida lead is built on a familiar formula. He’s not winning with the far right voters who constitute a plurality of the Republican electorate, but he’s at least staying competitive with them. Meanwhile he’s dominating the field with moderates (a 36-15 lead over Palin) and with voters who identify themselves as just ‘somewhat conservative’ (a 32-15 advantage over Bachmann.)

While Bachmann’s rising with Florida Republicans, Gingrich has tanked. On our last poll he was tied for the lead with Romney at 18%. Now he finds himself in 5th place and with less than half as much support at 8%. Beyond Gingrich other people who have to be seen as losers on this poll are Huntsman and Pawlenty. Huntsman’s 2% standing is consistent with how he’s polling with pretty much every group of voters except beltway journalists. And Pawlenty’s 4% in Florida matches his 4% in South Carolina- he doesn’t have any resonance yet with GOP voters in the south.
