Haikus for Scott Brown: The Finalists Poll

January 15th, 2010 Nate Gunderson Comments off

We appreciate the many responses for the haiku contest. I didn’t realize beforehand how hard it would be to cut the list down to just a handful. We received about 55 entries and there were many good ones. I raised the total number of finalists from 7 to 10 (it was easier than cutting.) All finalists will automatically receive a free MITT ’12 chrome sticker. The top three will receive free merchandise from the MRC store, the top prize being $50 of free Mitt stuff. It was originally $30 but was raised to $50 by a typo (thanks Aaron). Second place will get $20, and third will get $15.

Here are the 10 finalists. Vote for them in the poll below. You may select up to three haikus in the poll, each will receive one point.

MRC Presents: Haiku Contest for Scott Brown

January 12th, 2010 Nate Gunderson Comments off

For the last week Mitt Romney Central has unofficially become Scott Brown Central. There is just one week left until the special election on January 19th. We fans have donated to Brown’s campaign. We’ve helped promote him by making calls from home. We’ve become fans of his Facebook page. We’ve had polls on his debate performance. We’ve promoted him in almost every way we know how. That leaves us only one thing left to do… the only thing left we know how to do… the one thing that is going to push Brown over the top…

HAIKU CONTEST FOR SCOTT BROWN!

Do you haiku?

Rules:

  • Write a haiku to promote Scott Brown for Senate.
  • Post it in the comments here on the blog, or on our Facebook page.

  • MRC staffers will select what we feel are the top 7 (or so) entries.
  • Selected entries will be highlighted in a poll and YOU (the readers) will vote for the best one

House Votes Today on Health Care – Poll: What Will the Outcome Be?

November 7th, 2009 Nate Gunderson Comments off

The health care bill is now in debate and it will be called to a vote in just a few hours. Some reports are that Pelosi and Co. are looking quite confident. I’m feeling some intrepidation and anxiety. I’m wondering what you think the outcome will be:

What Will be the Result of Today's Vote on Health Care?

  • It will pass by more than 5 votes (16%, 6 Votes)
  • It will pass by 5 votes or less (24%, 9 Votes)
  • It will fail by 5 votes or less (24%, 9 Votes)
  • It will fail miserably by more than 5 votes (36%, 13 Votes)

Friday Fun – Word of the Year Poll (Obama Edition)

October 16th, 2009 Nate Gunderson Comments off

Since Fridays are relatively slow and the is not much newsworthy content on the interweb, I’ve decided to make a poll to lighten the day with a little levity.

First, a picture I found at a local scooter business that is both funny and sad at the same time:

Sign of the Times?

Sign of the Times?

And now for the poll. I know that there are some answers that aren’t included that you’d like to see, but I had to cap it somewhere. But please, if you have some good answers leave them in the comments.

(1) Paul Ryan vs (1) Marco Rubio

  • Paul Ryan (45%, 311 Votes)
  • Marco Rubio (55%, 376 Votes)

Total Voters: 686

Now I realize that this post is called “Friday Fun”, but after making that list I’ve concluded that this just isn’t fun anymore. I should have added “Nobama 2012″ to the list.
