Obama II: My Halloween Nightmare

On Halloween night six days before we choose our next president, I must confess that I realized inside me there resides a real fear of what would happen if Obama won next Tuesday. In the spirit of Halloween I decided to give in to that fear, like going to a horror movie, and allow myself to be really, really frightened by the specter of an Obama re-election. So here’s my Halloween Nightmare: Obama II, the sequel.

Like in a horror movie, things may look fine on the surface, but then the ominous music starts playing and you know something’s just not right. This close to the election I feel like I’m watching the American public in the role of that poor teenager, innocently wandering in the dark alley by himself, not knowing the danger right around the corner. The entire audience knows it’s there, and it seems anyone with half a brain would know as well. Yet the teenager doesn’t see it. And so the drama builds…will the hapless teenager keep moving toward danger, or will he turn at the last moment? The suspense is killing me.

But unlike those horror movies, where the fear is contrived and you can calmly go home afterward, my fear is real. The threats to our economy and freedoms are real, and there may be no going home afterward. Obama II may be a nightmare we don’t wake up from. Why am I so worried? What is this ominous music I’m hearing? Tonight I give in to the fear and try and give it a voice. Tonight I try and give a name to what lurks in the dark corners of my mind:

Maybe I’m worried that the next four years will be like the last four. I sat and watched from my position as an attorney for startup companies and venture capitalists as the economy slowed, investment ran dry, and people just didn’t get jobs back, even after reports of an improving economy.

Maybe it’s the fact so many people gave up looking for work. They don’t count in that 7.8% unemployment number anymore but they’re still unemployed.

Maybe it’s the passage of Obamacare, with its thousands of pages, new taxes and failure to reduce costs. When it seemed our economy needed an energy boost, the president was sucking more blood from it.

Maybe it’s the statements I hear from founders of large and small companies that if Obama is re-elected they’ll move those companies, either out of my state or out of the country.

Maybe it’s my dismay at Obamacare’s constitutionally-questionable mandate that some employers do things against their conscience and pay for their employees’ contraception.

Maybe it’s the use of constitutionally-questionable executive orders to do an end-run around Congress on immigration law.

Maybe it’s President Obama’s convenient conversion on same sex marriage.

Maybe it’s my worry about the fiscal cliff, and that President Obama has shown no ability to work with Congress in the bipartisan manner we’ll need to avoid the real horror movie of that un-natural disaster.

Maybe I’m horrified by all those rounds of golf President Obama played. Not that I object to a guy taking a break, but when I saw what happened in the first debate, I saw a pattern. President Obama only shows up when it really suits him, like when his job’s on the line. Maybe I’m worried nothing will motivate him if he’s re-elected and has no accountability. And maybe I’m not only worried about what President Obama won’t do, but what he will do without accountability to the voters.

Maybe I’m worried with no attention being paid, and no real admission of culpability, there’ll be a Benghazi II. How do you avoid repeating a problem you don’t take responsibility for?

Maybe I’m worried about what Supreme Court justices a 2d term President Obama would appoint. Would they interpret the constitution as it was intended, or would they fall in line with the other liberal justices on the court to act like a new legislature rather than limiting Federal power.

I realize I’m letting things get away from me. Mitt’s still neck and neck with President Obama, and maybe we won’t be forced to live through Obama II. There’s a good chance, given the polling data, Mitt even wins in a landslide. But tonight, on Halloween, I’m letting myself be terrified. I’m just sick that this nightmare has any chance of really coming true.

Romney: More to Gain Than to Lose in Last Debate

Well, the final Presidential debate will be over in less than 24 hours.

I’m sensing a certain level of stress among some Romney supporters in the lead up to this debate. Sure, it’s human nature to feel anxious just before a big event … especially when we are so invested in Mitt’s success. But I’m not nervous one bit, and here’s why ….

Governor (soon to be “President Elect”) Romney has much more to gain than to lose in this debate. It’s Obama that has the tough job tonight. The non-incumbent challenger generally has a low-bar to clear in these debates. They only have to 1) show that they can credibly be Commander-in-Chief and 2) avoid major gaffes. Mitt has shown that he is more than capable of achieving this based on his first two debate showings.

Much of the “who won the debate?” game is about expectations. Obama was widely expected to be a superior debater/communicator, and it was a race-changing event when he lost the first debate so dramatically. This set up debate number two, where Obama had reset his bar down to the floor. As such, many observers felt that he “won” the second debate (by a much narrower margin than the 1st debate, and more on style than on actual issues according to polls). But the President’s “win” was really more of a “most improved” award … we’ve seen no bounce in the polls for him at all.

Conventional wisdom is that Obama is supposed to trounce Governor Romney tonight, since the topic is Foreign Policy. The problem for Obama, is that his supposed foreign policy superiority is already “baked into the cake” of his poll numbers/support. Obama’s problem arises from the fact that his foreign policy successes begin and end with “Bin Laden is dead.” Sure, that’s a HUGE point, but it’s sort of hard to talk about THAT for 90 minutes straight. And no voter is going to change his mind to vote for Obama on this issue. “Hey yeah, Obama got Bin Laden … I had forgotten that. I guess I’ll vote for him now.”

Even those formerly on Obama’s foreign policy team decidedly do NOT see this as a strength for him (be sure to read that scathing rebuke!).

The debate will give Mitt an opportunity to, once again, unexpectedly impress voters on the depth and breadth of his international experience and knowledge. The media have painted him as a lightweight on foreign policy, someone out of his depth. Mitt can and will highlight his substantial foreign exposure through his public, private, and religious experiences.

The wildcard issue for tonight is Banghazi … and not in a good way for Obama.

Despite the President’s higher foreign policy numbers in general, this recent Ohio poll (that was even a +8% Dem sample) showed Mitt UP 49%-47% on the question: “Do you trust Barack Obama or Mitt Romney more on the issue of Libya?” Mitt did miss an opportunity to fully expose Obama on Libya in debate #2. Don’t expect a replay of that tonight …

Presidential Debate #2: Crowley Butts In, Backs Off, Luntz Focus Group Liked Romney

Taking a cue from the Biden playbook, Barack Obama pulls a face and acts like he’s going to spring from his chair as Mitt Romney makes a point at the presidential debate held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY on Oct 16, 2012. (photographer unknown)

The presidential debate action at Hempstead, New York, is in the can…

There were tense moments.

Pundits and politicians will be talking for days about the ‘terrorism’ Libya moment – the one where Obama water carrier moderator Candy CNN Crowley interrupted Mitt Romney to side with Obama by injecting her jaw-dropping version of fact-checker. Cutting off the Governor, she sided with the President on remarks he claimed he made in the Rose Garden the day after the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Obama said he labeled the attacks as “terror” right away. After the Crowley butt-in, Obama then called from way back on his stool for Crowley to repeat her “fact” louder. Turns out, Obama and Crowley have nothing to crow about:

Democratic strategist Joe Trippi later said on FOX News that it looked like “the ref just threw the flag.”

After the debate, Crowley, who repeatedly cut Romney off, and when all was said and done, bequeathed Obama with 3 minutes and 14 seconds more speaking time than the Governor, tried to back off. She conceded that Romney was “right in the main.”

There’s so much I want to say about Ms. Crowley’s moderating, but I’ll constrain myself and just say she made a disgusting hash of it.

Someone else agrees with me:

After the debate, Frank Luntz (FOX News) conducted a focus group in Nevada of mostly former Obama voters. Romney impressed them. Here is Part 1:

Luntz began the discussion by asking participants for a word or phrase to describe Romney’s performance:

Forceful, presidential.”

Confident and realistic.”

Presidential.”

Presidential and enthusiastic.”

Our next president.”

Dynamo! Winner.”

Knowledgeable and sincere.”

Steady and articulate.”

Part 2 may be viewed here.

The 82 voters in the town hall setting were chosen by Gallup and Candy Crowley selected the questions. Romney walked into a stacked game but didn’t back down. Voters saw him as someone with strength, leadership, and a common-sense plan to move America forward. Obama was aggressive, pulled a few Biden-style faces, did a lot of bluffing, and threw in some blaming. He offered NO plan.

No wonder Independent swing-voters like Mitt Romney.

If you missed the fireworks, click here to watch the entire debate.

What the Media Doesn’t Want You to Know: Obama’s Follies

Below is an historical perspective that the media will diminish and distort, or not even disclose or discuss with America as they strive to protect and promote Barack Obama. Why? Whether in ideological alignment with Obama or striving for relevance and power in our society, the media is wont to attack or undermine Mitt Romney and the conservative movement, at any price without boundary, integrity or principle. What Obama and the media fail to realize in their blindness and pandering for relevance and power, is that they only become relevant and important unto themselves. By and through their misguided actions to become relevant, they become irrelevant. Never before in our history has the media, or our President for that matter, been so irresponsible and caught up in their own self-importance; never before have they been so blatant in their wants and posturing to America’s discredit; never before have they revealed who they really are and abandoned all ethical boundaries; never before have they exposed themselves with reckless and irresponsible abandon. The battle lines have been drawn and the media has joined the opposition. Their insidious lack of integrity and public profile is undermining the very fabric of our society, and all in the name of their principal advocate, Barack Obama. The same could be said for the liberal thinkers in our center-right society. The liberal thinkers and the media have aligned with one another and through their protestations convinced themselves that they are a reflection of American society; again, at the behest of their leading advocate, Barack Obama. They are not a reflection of the majority of American’s, yet – and hopefully they never will! Surely, they and Obama represent some in America, but clearly, truth and ideology be told, it is the minority. By and through their public pulpit each are convinced if they shout loud enough we will be equally convinced. What is tragic is the blatant lies and manipulations in play; with stories suppressed, polls manipulated, and lies promulgated – the media and Obama are trying to sell what is good as bad and what is bad as good. This deception has to stop! History has proven when the majority in society remain silent to the protestations of the extremes, lives and freedoms are lost – Not here, and not in America!

Intentional as the media may be to try and diminish and suppress conservative voter turnout by skewed and distorted polls, deceitful attacks on conservative values and Mitt Romney, or collusion to suppress information and deviate from substance – they will not succeed. I believe the efforts of deception will diminish Democratic turnout and elevate the Conservative turnout!

Noted in the recent post by Vic Lundquist, voices are being raised in opposition and standing on principles, gratefully!

The historical aggregation of some of Obama’s follies without sufficient media disclosure and publication is distressing for many reasons, not the least of which are the lives and freedoms lost.

1) Barack Obama’s failure to act on advance intel to protect our Libyan Ambassador and his colleagues; and his subsequent cover up of known intelligence reports conjunctive with his recent dismissiveness and failure to address and acknowledge terrorism on US territory in Libya and 20 embassies around the world.

2) Lives were lost because of Obama’s failed leadership and inattentions in the Middle East. Today our military is under severe threat because of the undermining attitudes and policies of Barack Obama. Each day we are losing men and women because of political posturing by Obama in Afghanistan – our enemy has infiltrated our ‘allies’ and are killing our soldiers, and nothing is said or done to stop it.

3) Barack Obama’s compromising leaks of national security matters to bolster his foreign policy bona fides, and put our nation at further risk.

4) Barack Obama’s foreign policy priorities to appease and accommodate our enemies; his foreign policy priorities to advocate the LGBT agenda as a condition of American aid, ‘cultural imperialism.’

5) Obama’s abandonment of world leadership; abandonment of Israel; accommodation to a soon-to-be nuclear Iran; accommodation to an Arab Winter and radical Islamic leadership that has put in play a conflagration in the Middle East.

6) Barack Obama’s willful taxes on the poor and middle class when he stated the contrary. (a) Obama stated he wouldn’t raise a dollar of tax on the middle class; and yet, he clearly stated he would wage a war on energy and bankrupt certain industries, including the coal industry. Consequentially, we have seen gasoline prices and home fuel costs more than double in 3 years. American’s are paying at least $1,200-$4,000 more per year in fuel costs because of Obama’s stated policies which is an egregious tax on all. (b) Obama’s debt agenda has imposed a principal borrowing of nearly $6 trillion, plus interest, on all Americans! His spending is one of the most significant taxes he can impose on this and future generations. What isn’t discussed is the cost of interest on this debt when interest rates go up, and they will go up. (c) Obamacare will further impose a minimum tax on all American’s of at least $4,000 per year and in the years to come, and so much more. Additionally, under Obamacare our seniors have to pay an added Obamacare tax on the sale of their homes.

Obama Administration Sued for His Decree: “Unconstitutional”

Last month, President Obama directed all law enforcement officers to stand down and to not enforce existing laws governing policies of illegal immigrants detained in the United States. He bypassed all established legislative procedures and processes and simply used executive order to eviscerate existing statutes requiring deportation of illegal immigrants.

Agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency filed suit in federal court this week against the Obama Administration charging it illegally directed ICE agents to break the law. As you will see in this short video clip, the backers of this lawsuit say there is no question President Obama, by executive order, has instituted unconstitutional policies and procedures:

President Obama, when sworn in on the Capitol steps, vowed to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. There is a reason our founders established that changes like these, under the Constitution, are to be made in the legislative branch. President Obama clearly thinks he can make monarch-like decrees by fiat when it suits him politically or even if he wishes to change the national debate.

What other executive orders from President Obama can we expect between today and election day in November? President Obama obviously considers himself exempt from constitutional checks and balances requiring that laws be changed in the legislative branch of government.

Romney Best to Rescue from Obama Economy (CNN Poll)

The Business section of The Chicago Tribube carried a Reuters article describing a continued flat, lackluster economy. Reading this caused me to look throughout the Internet to find whom Mr. Obama is blaming for this bad news:

While the so-called U.S. fiscal cliff – a combination of expiring tax cuts and automatic government spending cuts – will be hit only in early 2013, if Congress does not act, an increasing economic toll could be exacted in the second half of this year.

“I don’t think we are going to get a resolution before the fourth quarter,” said Julia Coronado, chief North America economist at BNP Paribas in New York.

“Companies and households won’t know what their tax liabilities are going to look like in 2013, what the regulatory or spending backdrop is. It’s going to be an uncertainty which weighs on people’s ability to make plans.”

The latest Reuters survey estimates third-quarter growth at around a 2.3 percent pace, with fourth-quarter GDP at about 2.4 percent. But some economists say these forecasts already appear a bit optimistic.

“Right now we have a forecast that is around 2 percent in the second half … (and) while I expect growth to stay on track, it’s hard to point to a factor that’s going to lead to an acceleration,” said Coronado. “The risk is that the second half of the year will also lead to growth that is below 2 percent.”

Remember that quote from the film TOP GUN after Maverick buzzed the tower of the aircraft carrier, causing the XO to spill coffee all over his uniform and when he later yelled at them in reprimand? Maverick’s commanding officer said something like, “Well, I would say that just about covers the fly by!” Following is one of those reprimand quotes for Mr. Obama I would say:

“Our sense was that of a gradual improvement. Now the sense is of muddling along at a low level of activity,” said Adolfo Laurenti, deputy chief economist at Mesirow Financial in Chicago. “We went from seeing progress, though gradual and very uneven, to not seeing progress at all.”

Fortunately, most American’s believe the better person to lead us out of the ObamaMess is Mitt Romney – from Newsmax:

Romney tops Obama 52 percent to 41 percent among independent voters who were asked in a CNN poll which candidate would do a better job handling the economy.

41 percent? I can understand 4%, but 41%? I would sure like to speak to one of those “Independent” voters that thinks Obama is the best person to handle the economy — how can they think that? I keep hearing that Mr. Obama will be starting to talk about his new plans for a better economy. He better start talking fast. The Newsmax article closes with this:

Romney has a 10-point advantage over Obama when Americans were asked which candidate would do a better job dealing with the federal budget deficit.

Obama led by 8 points on foreign policy and by 7 on healthcare. Romney holds a 3-point margin on illegal immigration, the CNN poll said.

“Not surprisingly, the poll indicates that the economy’s the public’s top issue, the only topic that more than half say will be extremely important to their presidential vote in November,” Holland said.

Romney Lays Out Strategy for Long-Term Immigration Reform, Launches "Juntos Con Romney" Facebook Page

Right now in Orlando, Florida, Mitt Romney is delivering a speech on the state of the economy to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, presenteing his strategy for immigration reform. Below are the details of his strategy:

Click Here to Join the Official Hispanics for Romney Facebook Group

A National Immigration Strategy

As president, Mitt Romney will implement a national immigration strategy to address our nation’s broken immigration system. He will reach across the aisle and work with Congress to forge lasting solutions.

Grow Our Economy By Growing Legal Immigration

The United States is currently excluding too many workers who will start businesses, create jobs, foster innovation, and help grow our economy.

Attract More Highly Skilled Immigrants:

• High-skill immigrants start companies, create jobs, and drive innovation at an especially high rate. The United States is also projected to face a shortage of 230,000 science and technology workers by 2018. At the same time, we have set the caps on high-skill visas so low that, for some countries, an entire year’s quota has been filled in an hour. Mitt Romney will ask Congress to raise the caps on visas for highly skilled immigrants.

• Many country caps—or limits on immigrants from specific countries—are so low, that America is losing some of the best and brightest to our international competitors. Mitt Romney will work with Congress to raise the country caps.

• America should keep the best and the brightest here in the United States. Every foreign student who obtains an advanced degree in math, science, or engineering at a U.S. university should be granted permanent residency.

Immigration – The Right Solution vs Broken Barack’s Imperious Edict & Political Ploy!

Recently noted in a great article by Clark Judge, Managing Director, White House Writers Group, Inc.; Chairman, Pacific Research Institute, at HughHewitt.com -
”Let us never forget,” wrote Joseph Story, one of our history’s most revered Supreme Court justices, “that our constitutions of government are solemn instruments… not to be frittered away to please the demagogues of the day…. They are of no man’s private interpretation. They are ordained by the will of the people; and can be changed only by the sovereign command of the people.”

It is a dangerous trait we see here: a taste for arbitrary power in a president of the United States.

The matter of immigration in the United States is the domain of Congress, our Legislative Branch of the US Government. Constitutionally, we have empowered Congress with certain rights, duties and responsibilities; immigration laws, as with other lawmaking, policy making and related actions fall thereunder. Similarly, we have entrusted and empowered the US Supreme Court to assure that our legislative acts, laws and treaties, as well as the actions of the Executive Branch are compliant with the US Constitution. To quote Clark Judge again, “It is a dangerous trait we see here: a taste for arbitrary power in a president of the United States.”

What does Barack Obama think?

“Its a remarkable document…but I think it is an imperfect document…and reflects some deep flaws…” “It has a blindspot”

By his imperious actions, not just this past week with immigration, but in previous periods and on innumerable counts, Barack Obama has sought to obviate the Constitutional process and system instituted by our Founding Fathers. It is disconcerting beyond measure when the President of the United States acts without regard to the founding principles of our Nation; and this a Constitutional Law professor from Chicago??? What duplicity!

Charles Krauthamer offers further commentary here:

Fortunately, Mitt Romney has the reasoned capacity to understand and further respects the Constitutionally grounded foundations of our Nation. He also has the presence of mind not to fall prey to Broken Barack’s political ploys and taunts, wherein he sought to lure Governor Romney away from what matters (the economy) and into a discussion on immigration. Obama intentionally co-opted positions that were similar to pending actions of Congress – it isn’t the position he took but the manner and basis for his taking. And yet, the MSM blasted Mitt for a tepid response. Mitt Romney knows who bears responsibility for immigration and is committed to work within the system; he is committed to LEAD, something Barack Obama has failed to do. In fact, Broken Barack’s edicts are simply a ‘fool’s errand’ and derivative of failed leadership.

Notice Mitt Romney’s response below to Bob Schieffer:

ROMNEY: This is something Congress has been working on, and I thought we were about to see some proposals brought forward by Senator Marco Rubio* and by Democrat senators, but the president jumped in and said I’m going to take this action . . . He was president for the last three and a half years and did nothing on immigration. Two years he had a Democrat House and Senate, did nothing of a permanent or long-term basis. What I would do, is I’d make sure that by coming into office, I would work with Congress to put in place a long-term solution for the children of those that have come here illegally. . . .

SCHIEFFER: But would you repeal this? . . .

ROMNEY: My anticipation is I’d come into office and say we need to get this done, on a long-term basis, not this kind of stop-gap measure. What the president did, he should have worked on this years ago, if he felt seriously about this he should have taken action when he had a Democrat House and Senate, but he didn’t. He saves these sort of things until four and a half months before the general election.

*See Senator Marco Rubio’s commentary on the matter in National Review Online, here.

Obama is treading on very dangerous turf, and to what end? His political fortunes weigh in the balance and he is above all things, POLITICAL. Even Pat Caddell, a Democratic strategist of renown status stated on Hannity the other night that, “Obama would do anything to get re-elected.” Frightening and dangerous.

The irony of it all is in the response of Felipe Calderon, President of Mexico. This, a country that imprisons illegal aliens coming across their borders.

Fortunately for America we have a man of character and integrity seeking to displace Obama. Mitt Romney understands the checks and balances of the Constitution. In spite of the contrary press, he stands resolute in what is right. I know that Mitt Romney has a defined agenda for the immigration challenges we face as a Nation. They are not myopically centered in ‘illegal’ immigration – but on IMMIGRATION. It demands a comprehensive long term solution, and he is meant to work within the Nation’s Constitutional framework to lead on this issue. Under President Romney we will see the needed changes in this regard. We will see an enforcement of our laws, we will see a secure border, and we will fix what is broken in our legal immigration processes, and consequentially see a waning of illegal immigrants. I look forward to the day when we retain the mindshare of our legal immigrants that are educated in our higher learning institutions; I look forward to the day when we see those with talent, resource and creative will coming more easily into our country to stimulate growth and economy; I look forward to the day when we attract the brightest and best in the world and they find a home in our Nation, and contribute to the fabric of our societies; I look forward to the empowerment of our economy and our people, and restore the rule of law that seems to have been abandoned by President Obama; I look forward to the day that we call my friend, PRESIDENT ROMNEY!

In the style of “The Onion:” Obama’s Controversial Immigration Policy – Obama Builds a “Virtual Fence” – A New Campaign Slogan

Seeking to capitalize on the high unemployment rates that have plagued Obama throughout his presidency, and in an attempt to spin the low job opportunities into something positive, President Obama is now touting the low jobs numbers as a successful and innovative way of solving America’s immigration problems.

Obama’s supporters are citing a recent study which shows that due to reduced job opportunities in the US for such an long period of time, immigration from Mexico has slowed to near zero. For the first time since the Great Depression, immigrants from Mexico have found it more appealing to go back to Mexico to find a job than to stay in the US.

In a press conference this morning, President Obama said:

“Look, are we going to be a country that sees the glass half empty, or the glass half full? Yes, I know a lot of people are out of a job, but lets look at the other side of the coin. America’s illegal immigration problem has been solved!”

Political analysts are unsure how well this strategy will play out in the upcoming election but it is clear that Democratic strategists believe they are playing with a winning hand.

“Republicans are always talking about how to solve America’s immigration problems,” said David Axelrod, “but only President Obama can say he has done something about it. We are not going to run from the our record on job creation, in fact, we are proud that it has helped solve our immigration problems.”

President Obama has resisted building a physical fence between the U.S. and Mexico saying that there are other ways to solve our immigration problems. It appears that in just three short years of his presidency, Obama has found his method and built the most effective “virtual” fence yet seen to solve America’s immigration problems.

The Obama campaign has been having a difficult time coming up with a slogan for his 2012 presidential run.

Here are a few possible slogans that the Obama campaign is considering

“No Jobs=No Immigration Problem!” Obama 2012

“Solving American’s Illegal Immigration Problem One Job Loss At a Time” Obama 2012

“President Obama – The only president you can trust to put a fence between the US and Mexico”

****In case you’re not sure, most of the above story is a joke. While it is in fact very true that immigrants are suffering from unemployment in the US and are returning to their home countries in massive numbers to find jobs, Obama has not decided to use the bad economy as a campaign slogan for solving America’s immigration problems.

However, we believe that Obama should be held accountable for the results of his policies.  It must be said that Obama’s policies in the last three years have led to the worst opportunities for immigrants in modern American history. Americans should be alarmed that immigrants are leaving America because there are better job opportunities for them elsewhere. This is not the America we know and take pride in.

● In fact, most Americans come from relatives who were immigrants themselves. We are a nation of immigrants. Many can remember the stories their parents told them about how their family came to America seeking a better life. These stories have been a point of pride and accomplishment told by immigrants since America’s founding. It is a sad day for America when Obama’s economy has damaged the ability for the new generation of immigrants to create their own story of coming to America and living the American Dream.

Unbiased economists agree that if you look at history, three years is normally plenty of time to recover from a recession. Obama has been president for the last three years and still the US economy has not even come close to a full recovery. America should be creating jobs at more than twice the rate it is creating them now. Obama has had his chance. It’s time for a change.

Here is Florida’s Senator Marco Rubio, himself a Hispanic, talking about Hispanics and the economy:

Anyone-But-Romney Force Reveals Political Bankruptcy / Mitt, Paul Ryan, & Milwaukee

The Romney/Ryan team continued yesterday taking their timely message to Wisconsinites. They were invited to hold a town hall meeting at Moore Oil Company in Milwaukee. Here’s video of The Gov and Congressman Ryan:

Later in the day, at the same venue, Romney and Ryan were interviewed by FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren:

We’re at a halfway point…

Today’s elections in Wisconsin, Maryland, and D.C. mark the halfway point in the race for delegates. Yesterday, Governor Romney picked up three more delegates… Coincidentally, he’s now halfway to clinching the GOP nomination:

The former Massachusetts governor inched up to 572 delegates on Monday _ exactly half the 1,144 needed _ after the Tennessee Republican Party finalized delegate totals from its March 6 primary. Results in several congressional districts were too close to call on election night, leaving three delegates unallocated.

Romney got all three delegates. He also picked up an endorsement from a New Hampshire delegate who had been awarded to former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. Huntsman dropped out of the race in January and endorsed Romney.
[...]
According to the Associated Press tally, Romney has more than twice as many delegates as Santorum. Santorum has 272 delegates, followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 135 and Texas Rep. Ron Paul with 51.

Romney has won 54 percent of the primary and caucus delegates so far, putting him on pace to clinch the nomination in June. Romney could substantially add to his lead Tuesday, when 95 delegates will be at stake in three primaries, in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Current reality:

Santorum, who has won 27 percent of the primary and caucus delegates so far, would need 74 percent of the remaining delegates to clinch the nomination before the national convention. Gingrich would need 86 percent and Paul would have to win nearly all of them, which won’t happen because most states award delegates proportionally.

Anyone but Romney? Martin Sieff (FOX News Opinion) wrote yesterday that he is “sick of Santorum:
