Romney Readies ‘Prosecution of Obama’ and Mississippi Gov Phil Bryant Endorses Mitt

The project will illustrate with ads and speeches “how Barack Obama’s policies have hurt the middle class, given more and more people concerns about their jobs and prices, and put downward pressure on households.” Added the insider, “what Obama has done so far hasn’t worked and, when needed, he didn’t lead.”

The campaign will offer Romney’s alternative story-line: that he is a business and political leader who has a plan to fix the economy and bring back jobs.

Mitt Romney made the following statement on the Senate vote to block the Keystone XL pipeline:

President Obama has once again blocked the Keystone XL pipeline today. He personally lobbied Senate Democrats to vote against the project, asking them to eliminate jobs and reroute desperately needed Canadian oil away from the United States and toward China. This decision makes a mockery of his so-called ‘all-of-the-above’ energy strategy and is the latest reminder that he has taken unprecedented steps to stifle energy production and drive up energy prices in this country, all while wasting billions of dollars on failed green projects. His political strategists may think that he can continue saying one thing about energy while doing exactly the opposite, but I will spend this campaign reminding the American people of his actual record and proposing policies that will guarantee our economy the reliable, affordable supply of energy we need.

Three Op-eds from Mitt on the Eve of Super Tuesday

Mitt wrote 3 op-eds on the Eve of Super Tuesday. I am only posting portions of the op-eds below. Please click on the title of the op-eds to read them in their entirety.

For CNBC, Mitt writes:

Restoring the American Promise

Reforming our tax code is critical. I will lower taxes to lighten the burden on middle-income Americans and to reignite the economy. A key measure will be an across-the-board, 20% reduction in marginal individual income tax rates. By reducing the tax on the next dollar of income earned by all taxpayers, we will encourage hard work and productivity by allowing Americans to keep more of what they earn.

The businesses that pay taxes through the individual income tax system account for more than half of all private sector jobs in the United States. So this tax cut will encourage businesses to hire, raise wages, and grow the economy.

I will reduce the corporate tax rate to 25%. Currently, it’s among the highest in the developed world; I will bring it in line with other nations, making America a place where investment capital flows. I will end the job-killing repatriation tax, so American companies who do business overseas will bring their profits here and invest at home.

I will promote savings and investment by maintaining the 15% rate on capital gains and dividends. I will eliminate the tax entirely for those with annual income below $200,000. These low tax rates will encourage Americans to save and invest – and they will encourage business investment and economic growth. I will repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax, and I will abolish the death tax.

By making bold cuts in spending and commonsense entitlement reforms, we will make our government simpler, smaller, and smarter. Through pro-growth policies, by abolishing Obamacare and eliminating other Obama-imposed impediments to economic growth, we will get our economy back on track. Taken together, the plan I’m offering represents the most substantial reform of the federal government in modern history. I aim for more jobs, less debt, smaller government. I aim to restore the promise of America. Nothing less.

For the Columbus Dispatch, Mitt writes:

U.S. Can Be Energy Superpower

The goal of my energy policy is straightforward: guarantee America the most affordable and reliable supply in the world. Ohio is seeing firsthand the potential of this approach in the Marcellus Shale. The natural-gas revolution is creating direct jobs in construction and drilling, and producing a resurgence in American manufacturing. In the next couple of years, billions of dollars will be invested in the state in pursuit of these opportunities.

President Barack Obama has a different goal: higher prices, lower production and a government-led “green” industry. Ohio is seeing the effects of this approach, as well. The average family’s energy bill has jumped by thousands of dollars during his presidency. Gasoline-price increases, alone, have cost the middle class as much as would doubling the income-tax rate.

While the president now professes a combination of innocence and helplessness in the face of rising prices, the truth is that expensive energy was his plan all along. He said his proposals would cause electricity prices to “skyrocket.” He suggested we “bankrupt” the coal industry. His secretary of Energy wanted to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline.” His secretary of the Interior declared he would oppose drilling even if gasoline reached $10 per gallon.

His administration has focused relentlessly on achieving his goal. His Environmental Protection Agency pushed through the costliest regulations in our history. He rejected the Keystone XL pipeline as “not in the national interest,” telling Canada to send its oil to China instead. He illegally blocked drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, prompting a federal judge to hold his administration in contempt. He has proposed a special energy-tax increase, and has 10 federal agencies focusing their attention on natural gas.

The statistics demonstrate his “success”: He has slashed the rate of federal land leasing by half. Where leases are established, his administration is issuing permits one-third slower than the previous rate. Oil and natural-gas production on federal land is declining.

Finally, for the Washington Post, Mitt writes:

How I Would Check Iran’s Nuclear Ambition

While Obama frets in the White House, the Iranians are making rapid progress toward obtaining the most destructive weapons in the history of the world.

The gravity of this development cannot be overstated. For three decades now, the ayatollahs running Iran have sponsored terrorism around the world. If we’ve learned anything from Sept. 11, 2001, it is that terrorism in the nuclear age holds nightmarish possibilities for horror on a mass scale.

What’s more, Iran’s leaders openly call for the annihilation of the state of Israel. Should they acquire the means to carry out this inhuman objective, the Middle East will become a nuclear tinderbox overnight. The perils for Israel, for our other allies and for our own forces in the region will become unthinkable.

The United States cannot afford to let Iran acquire nuclear weapons. Yet under Barack Obama, that is the course we are on.

As president, I would move America in a different direction.

Governor Mitt Romney, America’s Best Choice for President

Kyle from Ultimitt.org has written this fantastic op-ed for us just in time for Super Tuesday.

On March 6th, voters from 10 states will go to the polls and vote for their party’s Presidential nominee. Republicans have four very different candidates to choose from and they would do well to support the true conservative, Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, for the Republican Presidential Nomination.

Governor Romney, whose life, at age 21, was almost cut short after a terrible car accident, is the only candidate who has never served a single day in Washington, D.C. Governor Romney’s 25-year career is one of working in the private sector. He has helped start up and help turn around companies like Staples and Domino’s Pizza who today employ over 100,000 people. He has truly earned the reputation of being a turnaround artist. As a college of law student who is about to graduate, I would love to have an economic turnaround artist working on the United States economy. With Mitt Romney as President, I am more confident that when I go to look for a job after school, I will find one.

Governor Romney’s conservative leadership was on display in Massachusetts. While working with both Republicans and Democrats to secure a balanced budget every single year of his four year term without raising taxes, Mitt cut taxes 19 times, drastically increased jobs in a state that ranked 50th in job creation when he took office, and turned a 3 billion dollar state deficit into a 2 billion dollar surplus in only 4 years! That achievement is something to be commended and exemplified. The ability to work with those that may, or may not, agree with you, to accomplish the tasks that Governor Romney was able to accomplish is what true leadership is all about.

Governor Romney has fought hard, and continues to fight hard, for the free exercise of religion. When the Obama administration reported recently that they would force Catholic hospitals and doctors to prescribe contraceptives to patients, something that the Catholic faith, and all other faiths, saw as a violation of their First Amendment rights, Governor Romney was the first to speak out about it and call out the Obama Administration for their blatant disregard for our religious freedoms.

Today, conservatives who supported Governor Romney in 2008 seem to be flip-flopping. For example, in 2008, while on the Laura Ingraham Show, Former Senator Rick Santorum stated, “I believe that Governor Romney is a true conservative and a man we can trust to continue to fight for conservative principles.” He even thanked the Governor for helping him try and pass the Traditional Marriage Act in Congress. Yet today, Senator Santorum, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and others, seem to have flip-flopped. It’s now become politically convenient to attack the same man, who they called a “true conservative” four years earlier.

Republicans have an opportunity on March 6th to elect a true conservative, a man of high moral character, an economic turnaround artist, and an individual who will continue to defend religious freedoms for all Americans. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the best choice for republicans and the best choice for President of the United States.

Mitt Romney Wins Wyoming Caucuses & Goes on O’Reilly With Ann Coulter

The former Massachusetts governor was the favorite of 39 percent of the 2,108 caucus goers, while former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum finished second with 32 percent. Texas Rep. Ron Paul had 21 percent, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich had 8 percent. The situation in Wyoming is really confusing, but these are the only results we’ll have for awhile, and it’s great to have another win for Mitt heading towards Super Tuesday.

Mitt Romney today made the following statement on the results of the Wyoming caucuses:

I want to thank the voters of Wyoming who took the time to participate in their state’s caucuses, and who gave me their support. It is a thrill to have taken first place in Wyoming. Our country is engaged in a great debate about its future direction. The voters here have spoken loudly and told the rest of the country that they want change, and they want a leader who understands that fixing the nation’s economy, and ending Obama’s runaway spending and borrowing, is priority number one.

What Happened in Michigan? Here’s a Little Help for the Media

Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, the UAW, President Obama’s Super PAC, Gingrich’s Super PAC, Santorum’s Super PAC, Michael Moore, Fox News, Red State, and the dirty tactics of Santorum’s own campaign couldn’t beat Mitt in Michigan where polls show the fact that Mitt was born here didn’t factor very largely in the decision of voters.

I don’t know if I can remember a candidate surviving and continuing to win when faced with such adversity. Michigan’s results are truly amazing. Despite an onslaught of outrageous attacks from both sides and the media giving voters virtually no where to turn to for the truth, that fact that Mitt still won must strike fear in the heart of the Obama campaign. Even with Catholics across Michigan getting inundated with robocalls calling Mitt a baby-killer, Mitt won the majority of Catholic votes. Mitt ended up winning among republicans by over 10%, he and drastically increased his vote totals from 2008 despite 3 years of sustained attacks by the local and national press claiming that Mitt wanted Michigan and Detroit to fail and lose all of our auto sector jobs. President Obama fears that Mitt could carry Michigan in the general which would make his path to re-election basically impossible. President Obama’s campaign and Super PAC had laid the groundwork to defeat Mitt Romney in Michigan for years, and they failed.

Mitt Romney emerges from this primary as the only acceptable candidate. Newt Gingrich and his Super PAC have disqualified themselves with their blatant dishonest on Bain Capital and with the robocalls they ran against Mitt about the 2nd Ammendment. Rick Santorum has disqualified himself by running robocalls aimed at democrats admitting he is a weaker general election candidate. That is not an appeal to democrats that will result in extra votes in November. It is an admission that Sen. Santorum has no business in the race if even he admits he doesn’t stand much of a chance against President Obama in November. He can argue that he was playing off media stereotypes, but he could’ve let the UAW, Michael Moore, the democrat lawyers, and several other democratic leaders in Michigan make that argument. I cannot recall any instance of an actual Presidential campaign doing what Sen. Santorum’s actual campaign did. Republican voters across the country will not forget and will not forgive Sen. Santorum in time for him to regain momentum. Ron Paul, the only other candidate with an organized and professional campaign, is satisfied with the opportunity to spread his ideals, and has also indicated that Mitt Romney would make a fine and acceptable President.

This race should be over! Mitt continues to build a huge delegate lead while Sen. Santorum’s campaign spent every last penny in Michigan. However, the dishonest media continues to propagate the narrative of Mitt being “wounded”, a “weak-frontrunner”, “stumbling”, or “unable to excite the base”. The media has worked tirelessly to elongate this process in order to increase ratings and/or to stop Mitt Romney from getting the nomination. Their claims don’t hold any water. It must be clear to any honest clear-thinking individual that Mitt is the only candidate that can beat President Obama. Rick Santorum and the actions of the democrats all admit it. It’s time we all rally to Romney.

Kid Rock Surprises Michigan as Santorum Robocalls Democrats to Vote for Rick

Before a packed crowd of more than 1000 supporters, presidential candidate Mitt Romney accepted the endorsement of Kid Rock tonight at the Royal Oak Music Theater. Kid Rock and band then performed his anthem “Born Free,” which has become the Romeny campaign theme

Kid Rock (or Mr. Rock as his name will likely appear in the New York Times and on NPR tomorrow) has endorsed Republicans before. Arguably, Kid Rock’s local bona fides have never been as vital for a candidate as for Mitt Romney, who is struggling to fend off an insurgent challenge from Rick Santorum in Romney’s home state.

“He asked me, if I help you, will you help Detroit when you’re president” said Romney. “And I said yes.”

While Mitt hosted the most lively and exciting rally of the entire campaign, Rick Santorum’s campaign was paying for deceptive robocalls. It’s unreal that Sen. Sentorum has resorted to trying to win the election this way, but I have a feeling it is going to backfire big time. Rick Santorum bets the fortune of his candidacy on turning out democrats to vote against Mitt. If Mitt wins Michigan after this dirty little trick, the backlash against Santorum for robocalling dems the ways he has to get democrats to vote for him will be swift. Rick Santorum is admitting he is a weaker general election candidate and everyone is Michigan knows it now.

President Obama’s Super PAC Spending Big on Attack Ads Against Mitt

Like this video shows, there is only one candidate the White House fears. The #1 rule in politics is to follow the money if you want to know the truth. President Obama’s Super PAC, Priorities USA, is spending even more money than they have in previous states to run attack ads against Mitt here in Michigan.

Fortunately, momentum is clearly on Gov. Romney’s side and these desperate attacks likely won’t be enough to stop him. The crowds at Mitt’s events continue to grow here in Michigan, and Mitt has launched a bus tour to crisscross the state until Tuesday’s election. Follow the bus tour here and RSVP for upcoming events here.
