The keynote speaker for the Republican National Convention August 27-30 has been selected.
The plum assignment goes to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

He has fearlessly tackled his state’s most difficult challenges, while looking out for hardworking taxpayers. He is a leader of principle and conviction, and I am excited to hear him address the Republican National Convention as our keynote speaker. Governor Christie will make the case for America’s Comeback Team and will rally our party and country in support of the Romney-Ryan ticket,” said Chairman Priebus.
“It is an honor to be able to address our party and our nation in just a few short weeks. The challenges we face as a country are great and require the honesty and boldness of the Romney-Ryan team. We have an opportunity in Tampa to make clear that if we tell each other the hard truths, tackle the big problems, and make bold choices, we will see America’s comeback,” said Governor Christie.

The nod has been given to Florida Senator Marco Rubio to introduce Governor Mitt Romney when he officially accepts the GOP presidential nomination:
Rubio, who campaigned with Romney in Florida on Monday, told CNN that he thinks the former Massachusetts governor made the right choice in choosing Ryan.

Rubio, who was elected in 2010, is well regarded by conservatives and tea party activists.

Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus announced Tuesday morning that freshman Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, 41-year-old son of Cuban immigrants, one of the party’s brightest stars, has been chosen to introduce presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
“This will firmly establish Marco as the man to watch in the GOP,” said political consultant Joel Endelman. “He gets a chance to shine in his own state, a state Romney has to have to win the White House. The boy is on his way.”
On Monday Rubio warmly and enthusiastically introduced Romney, who in turn spent as much time promoting Rubio as his choice for running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.

Governor Romney’s acceptance address is sure to be knock-your-socks-off powerful and inspiring. More Americans will tune in to watch it than any other GOP election event besides the debates in October. In 2008, more than 38 million Americans watched McCain and Obama deliver their acceptance speeches.

Thank God for Christie. Christie’s speech going to be R-rated? Just checking.hehehe you don’t know what to expect from this guy. He’s unpredictable.
Some of the lists are really boooooring. Who wants to listen a bunch of women talk? Of course, except my Candi :-) Hope, they’ll be air at lunch time.
Who want to listen John McCain AGAIN? Nice guy, but he’ll bring bad ’08 memory for me. I’m still mad at him :-(
