Awhile back, I coined the term “TV voter” in reference to the person whose sole or primary knowledge of political candidates’ positions is acquired via television viewing. In my opinion, the majority choosing to vote for Barack Obama are TV voters. Their source of knowledge? I don’t know; probably MSNBC.
All kidding aside, check out this unscientific survey conducted by Jesse Watters. On the Fourth of July he interviewed 27 people under the age of 40 — a whopping 55% of these individuals had, quoting Mr. Watters, “no clue about the founding of this country.” Remember, each one of these person’s vote is exactly equal to yours and mine and they love Obama!
Key words to watch for in these TV voters’ answers: “Bicentennial” — “Independence from whom?” — “Abraham Lincoln, our first president” — “What’s a ‘founding father’?” — “Samuel Adams” — “Freedom” — “1600″ (the year Declaration of Independence was signed) – and many more! What is shocking and sad is these people are serious and they are sober.
The reason I put up this “survey” is because I strongly believe the main reason we have many young people who are so willing to give up personal liberty for the mirage of entitlement is because they know little to nothing about the sacrifices of the women and men that established this nation (and if I didn’t, you would not have believed me when restating their answers). Sadly, most know nothing about why this nation is special — why America is exceptional.

We can only hope that in their unwillingness to know what matters about America will translate into their apathy – and not vote.
After the last election, I saw an actual, statistically accurate poll of people who voted for president. A majority of those who voted for Obama knew how many houses John McCain had, but had no idea which party had majorities in congress (in fact they thought republicans controlled the congress at that time) or any basics related to the issues. Other questions revealled an apalling ignorance concerning anything substantive regarding current affairs, the economy, politics, anything. But they knew the most innane, trivial things. That poll alone would make me be embarrassed to be associated with the party of ignorance.

I blame this on parents and their parents who did not take the time to instill a love for our country or a work ethic into our children. Government entitlements don’t work… We have proven this over and over. Healthcare is broken, but Obamacare only makes it worse. Romney is by far the best choice but won’t win because he’s not sexy enough. We’ve dumbed down our kids so much that they will vote for the cute, not the strong. Every Obama lover I know cannot give me a substantial answer about why they like him. They just like him. Scary.
