Obama: “The Private Sector is Doing Fine” – UPDATE: Romney’s Response

President Obama said this at a White House press conference this morning:

“The private sector is doing fine.”

UPDATE – Romney’s reaction to Obama’s ludicrous statement (speaking at a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa):

MITT ROMNEY: “Now this morning, the President had a press conference. I don’t know if you heard it, but he called a press conference and pulled people in and said a number of things, and one of the most interesting things he said was this: he said the private sector is doing fine. He said the private sector is doing fine. Is he really that out of touch? I think he’s defining what it means to be detached and out of touch with the American people. Has there ever been an American president who is so far from reality as to believe in an America where 23 million Americans are out of work, or stopped looking for work, or can only find part-time jobs and need full-time jobs, where the economy grew in the first quarter of the year at only 1.9 percent, where the median income in America has dropped by 10% over the last four years, where there have been record number of home foreclosures, for the President of the United States to stand up and say the private sector is doing fine is going to go down in history. It’s an extraordinary miscalculation and misunderstanding by a President who is out of touch, and we’re going to take back this country and get America working again.”

If you’re sick of a President who is out of touch with the real economy and are ready for a President who understands the private sector, donate to the campaign today.

Along with Governor Romney’s rapid-fire response to our out-of-touch President, Jennifer Rubin’s thoughts are also spot-on:

President Obama’s news conference started out predictably — blaming “headwinds” (an excuse mocked by the RNC just before the news conference) and Congress (which has passed about 30 stimulus/job-related bills. He offered no proposals, leaving listeners wondering if he didn’t confirm Mitt Romney’s argument that he’s in over his head.

Oh. My. Goodness. Republicans will have a field day, and rightly so. With 23 million Americans unemployed, unemployment at 8.2 percent and more than 500,000 fewer jobs than when Obama took office, the private sector is doing miserably. But in his universe, if government is borrowing more money to hire more public employees, all is well. Nothing Romney could say can be more damaging to Obama than the revelation that this is what the president actually believes.

It is hard to overstate how off-key and obtuse Obama sounds. Romney can save some money in ad consultants and simply run that entire mess of a news conference — first whiny and rambling and then shockingly ignorant — over and over again.

Excuse me? every private sector is not Hollywood, okay. This’s equivalent to “let them eat cake” message . What a shame. This happens when you don’t understand your job, when you don’t understand the economy.

I like when Gov Romney says “Obama doesn’t understand”. He should use every campagin stops this one line very powerful statement. It sticks in your head and also tells the whole story of our Hollywood star Prez. Every campaign ad should end “Obama DO NOT UNDERSTAND”

Nothing stops Gov Romney= Energizer Bunny…… Keep doing what you do. Don’t let them stop you until Nov.
