Mitt & Ann Romney’s CBS Interview: “Bin Laden death shouldn’t be campaign issue”

Governor Mitt Romney and wife, Ann, were guests on the CBS This Morning program today. Co-hosts Charlie Rose and Erica Hill conducted the interview.

Part 1 - Romney on Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng, Bin Laden death shouldn’t be campaign issue, VP posssibilities:

…Romney said the president “has every right to take credit” for ordering the mission.

Romney added: “At the same time, I think it was very disappointing for the president to try and make this a political item by suggesting that I wouldn’t have ordered such a raid. Of course I would have. Any American — any thinking American — would have ordered exactly the same thing. But of course you give the president the credit for the fact that he did so.”

Part 2 - After hearing, for the umpteenth time, questions about Mitt’s personality, Ann Romney says he’s still “wild and crazy”:

“I still look at him as the boy that I met in high school when he was playing all the jokes and really just being crazy — pretty crazy. So there’s a wild and crazy man inside there.”

    “Mitt Romney doesn’t connect with the people”…..seriously is that all they have! The opposition is really struggling to come up with something. The DNC is so desperate they have to politicize the killing of Bin Laden. Instead of criticism based on policy, they base criticism on speculation. At the end of the day that won’t work.

    Love how Ann is so down to earth. In the “Part 2″ video @ 0:45 she ALMOST spills the beans, when Charley asks “and why hasn’t that come out?!”…”..”you know…you know it’s going to – its an interesting…”. I think she stopped short in saying he’ll make an appearance on SNL. Which the campaign hasn’t come out and said. I think he will. It’ll be well watched and have super funny skits. GO MITT!!

    Nice response Gov Romney! All we care about is the sick economy.
    Don’t worry Mrs Ann, your husband is just fine. Don’t work hard to convince the commie media he’s funny. We’re not looking for a comedian or someone who hangs out the at Hub. Gov Romney is equally attractive, handsome, pleasant guy like Obama.

    My suggestion is that Gov Romney need to correct his upper body posture. It’s not noticable in this interview b/c of the high chair. When Gov Romney sits for interview, he needs to relax his shoulder. I could be wrong but, most of the time he looks like he’s in the witness stand or he’s about to give eology or they’re about to crucify him :=)))I know he’s a humble guy and it shows however, RELAX your shoulder.

    I loved the response from Ann when she grabbed Mitt and mentioned how he’s not stiff and how he’s the boy she met in high school and there’s a wild and crazy man inside, lol. That was awesome! They are so cute together! He may seem stiff sometimes and it could just be b/c he’s a competant businessman who’s very professional and well-spoken and that’s just how he caries himself–but many times when he’s just talking with people one on one he is more relaxed and is more relatable. I think the more people get to know Mitt and Ann, the more they’ll come to like them :)

  5. Joni says:

    Obama is the popular smooth talking student body elctorate. Romney is the down to earth nerd… in my opinion. I’d much rather have the down to earth guy than the smooth talking guy who is just worried about his image. Sure Obama is more entertaining. But Romney has the know how to get America’s budget passed, cut down government spending. He made the Olympics profitable in Utah. He has business sense that Obama only has the appearance of.

    @Annette
    Will this work…NoObama $831 billion stimultus package, while promising to create jobs and boost the economic was spent helping “green energy” companies overseas.Wasteful spending at tax payers dollars. Someone just don’t get it! Romney 2012
