The 39th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade (We Must Defeat President Obama to Overturn Roe v. Wade!)

Mitt Romney made the following statement on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade:

Today marks the 39th anniversary of one of the darkest moments in Supreme Court history, when the court in Roe v. Wade claimed authority over the fundamental question regarding the rights of the unborn. The result is millions of lives since that day have been tragically silenced. Since that day, the pro-life movement has been working tirelessly in an effort to change hearts and minds and protect the weakest and most vulnerable among us. Today, we recommit ourselves to reversing that decision, for in the quiet of conscience, people of both political parties know that more than a million abortions a year cannot be squared with the good heart of America.

The 39th March for Life begins tomorrow.

UPDATE: Mitt Romney today released the following statement on the March for Life:

In great number, men and women from across our country are gathered today on the Mall in Washington in the cause of defending the rights of the unborn. In their ranks are many who remember the day when Roe v. Wade was announced. Also among them are thousands of young Americans born after 1973 whose idealism and good hearts will continue to represent the passion and resolve of the pro-life movement. All of them are marching today in the spirit of compassion and mercy, and I share their commitment to laws that protect the innocent and uphold a culture of life. We take heart that we are winning this issue step by step, and I look forward to working arm and arm with the pro-life movement until the wrong of Roe v. Wade has been set right.”

    I am not able to comment on the chat as its says I have been banned. I have been a very frequent commenter on your chat and don’t understand why I am now banned. If someone could let me know how to get un-banned, I would appreciate it.

    Governor… I supported you in 2008 and held my nose up for McCain (only voted for him because of Sarah Palin). I still strongly believe you would have been the stronger candidate for President at that time. Now that Newt Gingrich is assailing your success and painting you as out of touch rich man (class warfare, Obama ammo), I strongly believe you will do a heck of a job articulating passionately the ideals of conservatism. Dont retreat because they attack your success at Bain… fight for it! If they ask for your tax returns, challenge that they show and compare apples and apples with theirs, make Newt defensive by demanding his reprimand documentations be on the table. DEFEND CONSERVATISM IF YOU WILL CHAMPION FOR US… we are on your side but if you can not convince us to stay it will be tough.

    We wish you the best and looking forward to call you President Romney.

    Immigration issue will be a hot issue in FL besides other social issues. I read 5Xs where he stands on immigration and i cannot figure out except securing the border. So far his explanation is very blurry, he sounds mean, uncaring for immigrants. I hope he’ll prpepare well to answer the immigration issue clearly. Gov Romney needs to articulate issues on Border, Language, and Culture.

    We’re looking for Shock & Awe performance debate this time from Gov Romney! Yes, you can do it!!

    @David,

    I’d like to echo that the moderators of the chat board are being overly aggressive and intrusive at gate keeping the chat box. I find it very offensive that moderators are banning and questioning someone’s loyalty to Romney as a fan just because a positive remark is given about Ron.Paul.

    Please moderators tone down your security screenings. Let people express other opinions, I don’t like the idea of just being an echo chamber. We should be nice to Ron.Paul fans and win them over to Romney’s cause.

    @Dyune M
    We agree with you Dyune M. We wish we, or someone, could suggest to Mitt to tell the moderator (or anyone who questions his tax returns and when he will provide them, or when they question his integrity re: Bain Capital), in very forceful and passionate terms that he will release them at his own choosing, or please give some powerful personal incidents re: his success at Bain and how that can translate into helping America get back on its feet.

    In the last two debates, Gov. Romney was being attacked from all sides, just like James Garner in ”The Rockford Files”. Now it’s time for Mitt to turn into the ”Hulk”… and Clean Up. Florida is an important State in the Southeast. The people know that Gov. Romney’s detailed plans to restore American jobs are realistic. America needs Mitt Romney for the next President. He is a man of strong family values. He is a man of integrity. He’s bright, articulate, and compassionate. Gov. Romney believes in America, and he is the best candidate to become the Republican Party’s nominee.

    I think it’s difficult when Mitt has to defend himself from the Liberal Media, Fox News and Barrak Obama. They say the “Establishment” wants Romney. There is a reason that “Even Minded” Republicans think Mitt would be the best candidate. But when the extreme “Right Wing” of the party wants this to be a “Dog Fight” they will go to no lengths to ensure it will be. How many times does Brett Baer, Sean Hannity and Greta VanSustern have to have Newt on display “campaigning”? How many “Controversial” questions does he really get? It is apparant that they have either been “Told” to allow him to “Pontificate” and ask softball questions. The same is true with the Debate Moderators. It would not surprise me if the Juan Williams question was pre-planned. As a matter of fact, I feel very strong it was on some level as was the CNN question. Newt may not have the “Financial” resourses…but Fox News negates that in a big way. I have lost a lot of respect for FOX during these Primary Contests. Where is the “Fair and Balanced” approach? I’m disgusted with them and their unholy alliance with the Far Left.

    I just read at Newsmax that your campaign has associated with people who ran Charlie Crist’s campaign. THAT WAS A WRONG MOVE! If you are trying to win us conservatives, you are defeating your efforts by cozying up with well-known RINOs in Florida. There is a reason why they lost and Marco Rubio won! YOU NEED TO RE-GROUP!!!!
