The panel on Fox and Friends this morning ( FOX News) consisted of Dave Briggs, Ainsely Earhardt, and Clayton Morris. The conversation turned to discussing Rick Perry’s fundraising capabilities when Earhardt dropped a shocker…
@1:12:
Earhardt: “Well, the Christian coalition, I think, he [Perry] could get a lot of money from that…
Briggs interrupts: “Big time!”
Earhardt continues: “because Romney obviously not being a Christian… Rick Perry, he…”
Briggs interrupts: “Oh, yeah!”
Earhardt continues: “he’s [Perry] always on talk shows, on Christian talk shows. He has days of prayer in Texas…”
Briggs: “Next month in Houston…”
Are Ainsely Earhardt and Dave Briggs ignorant regarding Article VI of the United States Constitution? Do they think they know better than those early American patriots – our Founding Fathers – who dedicated their lives and fortunes and sacred honor to free themselves from a religiously oppressive government?
“No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
From U.S. Constitution online:
Some of the first colonists of the nation for which the Constitution was written had been seeking to escape religious persecution. The constitutions of several of the states prohibited public support of religion (though some did explicitly support or demand adherence to Christianity). Above all, the many varying sects of Christianity in America required that to be fair to all, there could be preference to none. It would have been disgraceful for anyone to wish to leave the United States because of religious persecution. So the authors decided it best to keep the government out of religion. This is not to say that the United States was not or is not a religious nation. Religion plays a big role in the everyday life of Americans, then and now. But what the authors were striving for is tolerance… something I fear contemporary Americans are lacking.
(emphasis added)
Earhardt’s comment was bigoted (yes, bigoted) and outrageous. The enthusiastic chiming in of Dave Briggs was equally repulsive. The very idea that the United States of America could return to rule by ‘religious clique’ is reprehensible and un-American. Romney’s faith is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They believe in Jesus.
Romney supporters know this election must be about the very serious issues that face our nation. Let FOX News hear from you (often!). Send emails to: Friends@foxnews.com and yourcomments@foxnews.com. You may phone FOX at 1-888-369-4762. Leave comments on Earhardt’s Facebook page here.

Fox News Host: Mitt Romney Not a Christian
“Let’s face it; Romney simply doesn’t have a consistent worldview and much of what he does believe is contrary to the conservative and Christian worldview,” states an open letter being circulated on July 14, according to Michigan Messenger. Some prominent religious right leaders, including Gary Glenn of the American Family Association’s Michigan chapter, have signed the letter.
“That (Romney’s faith) might be fine for someone running for city council, but he’s running for the presidency of the most powerful nation in the world. To accept his multiple conversions as authentic and then give him the keys to the White House would be foolish. At this critical time in American history, we need a leader more than ever who has spent a lifetime defending and promoting conservative principles. The last thing we need is someone whose ideology abruptly shifted only after he and his consultants decided to prepare him for his first Presidential campaign,” it adds.
In a recent interview with The Christian Post, pastor and author Mark Driscoll said Christian leaders needed to be careful about publicly supporting candidates lest they “turn out to be not that moral.” Driscoll said he could understand the struggle Christians would have considering Romney for president. “He supports our values; he doesn’t worship our God
The American Family Association (AFA) has teamed up with Rick Perry to sponsor his upcoming prayer rally in Texas.

Mormon Mitt Romney not ‘Christian,’ says Fox News host
The question of whether or not Mormons are considered ‘Christians’ is sensitive and controversial. It is also consequential for Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Jon Hunstman[...]

Romney’s religion a barrier to Republican nod, Cain says
Mr. Cain on Monday became the first of Mr. Romney’s nine declared and potential nomination rivals to say publicly and explicitly something long whispered: namely, that the former Massachusetts governor’s Mormonism is an obstacle too big to overcome in the most solidly Republican region in the country. The South has a high concentration of evangelical Protestants, many of whom doubt the legitimacy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It’s disappointing that the journalists didn’t do their homework. The fundamental belief of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is centered on Jesus Christ. We believe that he was born to Mary, was baptized by John the Baptist and that he atoned for the sins of all mankind. We believed he died on a cross and was resurrected three days later. We love, adore and worship him. Our sacramental ordinance is a prayer and a covenant that we will always remember Christ, keep His commandments and bear His name. Those who say Mormons are not Christians do so either out of ignorance or malice.
I’m sure she only meant to say that he’s not a Christian in the eyes of the Religious Right and all the donors who are withholding money from him on that basis. Which, you know, is true. It’s not easy to check your words when you’re on live TV.
@Stephen Monteith
let’s assume that was her intent. let’s construe her words to mean something she didn’t say.
I have lived among the Mormons for more than 20 years now. I have found them to be the MOST Christian people I’ve had the pleasure to be around. They most certainly DO believe in Jesus Christ, and I cannot understand why people want to deny that. The Baptist religion holds classes aimed at demonizing the Mormons and, to me, that is one of the most UN-Christian acts. I changed my church from Baptist to Presbyterian because of it.
Thank you Carol. I have just had it with these journalist who are so stupid. I am frustrated that America has no problem electing a closet Muslim, but refuses to acknowledge and understand the faith of a Mormon and withhold contributions because of their ignorance. Mitt understands more about economics and how to turn this country around than any other candidate, but people refuse to acknowledge and support him because of his faith. Very frustrating and disappointing.
I’m a Mitt supporter, but I think you have to realize that many mainline and evangelical Christians do not consider the LDS to be a part of the Christian church. In fact, my Methodist Church in Phoenix, AZ (not exactly an evangelical congregation) is currently doing a study of other faiths and they chose to put Mormons in with “world religions” rather than “other Christian faiths”.
As for the Constitution, what does that have to do with anything? Ainsley was not saying that Mitt couldn’t be President, merely that some people would choose to support another candidate because of their own faith.
Unfortunately, this is a hurdle that Gov. Romney will be facing throughout his run for the Republican nomination and for the Presidency if he gets the nod.
YES! Love the heading of the article………showing what way too many Americans are ignoring! Article 6 of the Constitution.
Honest people, of whatever religious persuasion, should reject bigotry from the right as well as the left.
http://www.interfaithalliance.org/news/456-letter-from-welton-to-tn-fox-affiliate This article is not in regards to this video clip, but certainly has some points that pertain.
Fox is certainly showing some………….colors, aren’t they?
was a big fan of ainsley until today…….sorry babe, looks aren’t everything! and the two sitting with her, said absolutely nothing. i was on the fence in 2008 about Mitt, but this time……………I’m ALL IN!
Thanks, Jayde! Great fact/opinion piece as well as providing info to contact Fox!
Following are the Thirteen Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
1We abelieve in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10We believe in the literal agathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

I dropped out of my contract with Dish Network that I got just for Fox News because they had Glenn Beck. Now that they don’t have him I dropped the Dish and just went to the internet for all of what I need. You should do the same…… they are 200 channels of nothing is on……
The Book of Mormon has more references to Jesus Christ than the Bible does yet many like to say the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Christian. This is grossly unfair. I look at a comment like that from David Bibee · Christian Diversity Intern at SCU Campus Ministry posted here and I think that he obviously is missing the mark. Just because the LDS Church does not believe in his form of Christianity does not mean the LDS Church is not Christian. I suggest David Bibee and Ainsley Earhardt read, ponder, and pray about the Book of Mormon. Please consider how Christian of a book this is.
A home run Jayde… It is annoying to me to be called a non-Christian… I know my heart, I will not allow them to define me.. I do love the Saviour and I do know who He is…
Although Ainsley made a false statement. To ask for her to be fired would be against the way Christ would handle the situation. For those of you who are LDS posting, How would Christ handle this? Apology? Yes. Fired? Come on.
I voiced my disappointment at friends@foxnews.com and I invite you to do the same.
@ Stephen Monteith. I’m a long-time Latter-day Saint and, like most LDS people I know, I’m tired of being called a non-Christian. But I agree with you: I don’t think Ainsely’s intent was to slight Latter-day Saints so much as to comment on Romney’s difficulty in raising funds among mainstream Christians. She was comparing the fundraising prospects of Romney and Perry, not commenting on Romney’s Christian status per se. As Latter-day Saints, we need to grow a thicker skin and not take offense so quickly when someone calls us non-Christian. Look at the intent behind their words. I doubt Ainsley understood the message her comment sent to LDS, but I think with a little reflection on her words in context we can understand what her point was.
Well Fox just lost another follower until Ms Earhardt is fired.She is a bigot . No ones cared that Obama is a Muslim. yet Being a Mormon is an issue. I am Mormon and a proud follower of Heavenly Father. I believe in The Father , The Son, and The Holy Spirit, ( The God head). We are Christians our Church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. We are not bigots , we love Our brothers and Sisters We also forgive those who are ignorant. We learned that from the teachings of Heavenly Father.Mitt Romney is a good man, Yes he loves his religion and he loves this Beautiful United States of America. He is running for President , He is not shoving his or our beliefs down any one’s throat. If people only realized how much our Church does for the People of this world.,That is right . I said people of the world not just the members of our Church.God Bless America,God Bless you all.
She should be fired.I am sure there are good people out there that could do a much better job.
Everyone simply needs to email Fox News and let them know that bigotry will not be tolerated. Then tell FOX that they either apologize and fire the dummies our will contact their sponsors and let them know you will not buy their product as long as they continue to allow Earhardt and Briggs on the air. You have to hit these people in the wallet to get them to listen.
I can tell you are like me another mormon, I think that no matter if Mitt wins or not at least the people may learn a little more abou tthe Mormons I tried to copy & paste The Articles of faith but it did not work very well, I wound up just typing in the first one.@Carol Holmes
Just think, if Mitt Romney was Moslem do you think she would have said it?! I don’t think so! What does that tell you about whats going on in the media? Tell Ainsley to go to youtube and watch what JFK has to say about Mormons.. JFKMormons go to it and tell me something different. You see JFK actually went out to Utah and found out for himself what the Mormons where all about, instead of taking someone else’s word for it. Do some real reporting and find out the truth.. Glenn Beck did!!
Excuse me but I believe Mitt collected 18.5 million dollars in the last quarter which is 4 times the amount collected by any other Republican candidate. I am just a Nanny and am sending a monthly check and there are a lot of other smart people out there doing the same thing.
I’ve always found her to be a bit snippy. She reminds me of why I no longer go to church.
I also just wrote to Fox and Friends
I also just wrote to Friends@foxnews.com and hope that everyone else does the same. Ainsley owes Governor Romney a huge apology and also to all the members of the LDS church. What was she doing when Mitt made his terrific speech about religion in the 2008 campaign? Perhaps she was busy with HS cheerleading at that time?
This makes me sick. Of Course the Mormons are Christians. We believe in a different way than other churches but our Church’s cornerstone is Jesus Christ he is the head of our Church. We believe that he is God’s son and that he was sent to this earth to die for all mankind so that we could return to Our Father in Heaven. He is our Savior and our Redeemer. Please educate your journalist so that they know exactly what they are talking about. We know that Fox wants someone who is like Palin and are pushing for others but let’s all face it. Mitt Romney is the only one who can stand up to Obama and this Country needs Mitt Romney whether you like it or not.
Hey guys!
I just posted on Twitter about this. Use the hashtags #Ainsley Earhardt, #FoxNews, and #MittRomney so that our Tweets will start trending. Or you can just retweet my tweet:
@ainsleyearhardt and @FoxNews: Ridiculously false comment today about #MittRomney. Anxiously awaiting a retraction, correction, and apology. (AddisonDJenkins)
It’s important that we make our opinions and presence known – we can really influence things if enough of us work together at this.
Good Point, JoAnne! Everyone should write to Fox .. they need to be put on notice!
What the hell is she talking about? Look, I am not a Mormon. But I have studied this religion extensively. Mitt is a Christian. Mormonism is a VERY CHRISTIAN religion. The funny thing is that Mitt has never tried to push his religion on anybody. He was elected governor of one of the most liberal states in the USA. There was no big Mormon movement there after he was elected as governor in Mass. It is one thing for a low IQ idiot like Bill Maher to hit Mitt about his faith. But it is shameful for somebody who is supposed to be objective to be so ignorant of the subject.
This guy is a religious bigot and nothing else. Hypocrite evangelicals!!!!!
I invite you to drop out of the Media rat race and focus on your own life and what you can do about it and not worry so much about what you can not influence by spending so much time and your money on TV. You have the internet use it…….. @Mark
I am extremely shocked by the remarks made yesterday on FOX NEWS!!!!!!!! I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THERE WAS NO RESPECT FOR MITT ROMNEY AND A POSSIBLE EFFORT TO DISCOUNT HIM AND HIS INTEGRITY TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY… I ALSO BELIEVE THIS SO CALLED PERSON AINSLEY SHOULD PERSONALLY GIVE AN APPOLOGY TO ROMNEY… THANK YOU..
Seriously, I am very sad. The point of the USA was to gain religious freedom. You may not think I believe in Christ the way you think I should, Ainsley and Dave, but then if I wanted to be mean spirited I could claim the same about you. I didn’t realize there was a Church of the United States that decides how we should believe. Why do you think the pilgrims came to America to begin with? The whole reason the United States was formed was so people could believe the way they choose without a litmus test from you and other narrow minded individuals. Until I hear you have issued an apology for your remarks I will not be watching Fox News.
Of course we Mormons are Christians. We’re not Trinitarians like the Evangelicals, and unfortunately, they are the ones that apparently get to define Christianity. We would never refer to Trinitarians as non-Christian. However, Mormons demanding that Ainsley be fired almost prove how un-Christian we are. If we’re that thin skinned over that comment, it would be better for Mitt Romney to drop out because “We ain’t seen nothing yet”.
While disappointing, I don’t think Ainsley’s comments had anything to do with Article VI. She simply seemed to be saying that because Mitt is not a Christian (according to her understanding) that there was room for someone like Perry to come in and receive the support of the Christian Right wing of the party. While she is obviously misinformed, I did not construe it as an affront to the constitution. I did send an email expressing my disappointment with FOX NEWS, and that comments like this both undermine their credibility and make them appear to be a mouth-piece for the ultra right-wing religious element of the Republican party.
As an Independent voter who does not watch Fox News ever, I have to say that I’ve thought since the beginning of Mitt’s run for the nomination that Fox (i.e. Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes) have had it in for Mitt from day one because Mitt is not corruptible. Further, I think this proves it.
How many Mormon voters in the USA? Alienating them from the Republican party because they’re not true Chrisitans (when they certainly are) doesn’t seem very wise to me.
Sticks and stones…..but names will never hurt me. Just because some one else mistakenly calls me a non-Christian because of misinformation doesn’t mean I have to throw stones back. The man or woman devoted to following Christ learns to turn the cheek. I understand the fierce loyalty Christians feel when surrounded by our culture as its time-honored Christian values are chipped away. Rather than repeating arguments left over from the religious wars of the Reformation and diluting a united effort to protect freedom of religion and families, let’s agree to disagree about passages in the Bible that have been debated endless about the nature of God (Trinity versus earlier Christian views, including Jesus’ own statements about Himself and His Father). I choose to support Mitt for a long list of excellent reasons about his open record of his life and govt and business dealings.
@Brad Hubert
This argument that Mormons are not Christians is perhaps the biggest ruse since the Jews convinced the multitudes that Christ did not rise, rather people came and removed Christ in the night. The evangelicals have placed such emphasis on claiming Mormons are not Christian when there is simply no logical reason for such ignorance.
Do you believe in the Jesus of the New Testament? That he came and died on the cross for all mankind? That by him we can all be saved? Because that is the same Christ in Whom members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe. To say otherwise is a lie.
@Vic Phillips
Vic, I understand your point, and I like your moderate position. I too agree with your point about the constitution. The affront was not the constitution, but to Mitt Romney and fellow Mormons. She is getting paid to be informed, and this gross misreprensentation reveals a lack of professionalism on her part and it discloses her bias – a Freudian slip. I am interested to see how she responds to the backlash.
Vic, I understand your point, and I like your moderate position. I too agree with your point about the constitution. The affront was not direct at the constitution, but to Mitt Romney and fellow Mormons. She is getting paid to be informed, and this gross misreprensentation reveals a lack of professionalism on her part and it discloses her bias in a Freudian slip fashion. I am interested to see how she responds to the backlash.
I also sent several messages to Fox. However, I didn’t express to have her fired. Instead I encouraged her to attend an LDS church for one month and maybe watch and listen to a Baptism ceremony. That might give her a better understanding that Mormons and definitely Christian.
@sherms
Wow bro, you attract flies with honey not vinegar. Castigating evangelicals does not accomplish anything positive, but rather further widens the devide between Mormons and Evangelicals. Most evangelicals that I know have never seriously studied Mormonism from a credible source, so can we blame many of our evangelical brothers and sisters for espousing warped views of Mormons? What needs to happen is civil dialogue to help each other better understand one another. Personally, I’ve done this and have found the process and end result very satisfying. Pease reconsider your responses before hitting the send button.
@John
Great Point John. Retribution is futile and unchristian. However, crafting a polite but very clear message to Fox and Eahardt that underscores our misgivings of her performance yesterday is respectable and productive. I’mafraid your right about the stereotypes looming on the horizon in lieu of Mitt’s march to the Whitehouse, but what a great opportnity for thoughtful Mormons reach out to those misinformed
Dear Gov. Romney, i am a veteran 5 yrs US ARMY, 25 YRS DA Civilian GM-13. At retirement because my job was abolished ( Army talk for ajustment – so O5 & O6 can double dipp) my retirement salary was reduced 10% for life. This was do to congressional bill xxx?. To have a 10% reduction for life i was given $65,000. Needed because i was starting a yinyard and my spare cash was needed to bring my log home up to code.
Agriculture for a single person at 55 is lude-cris. Yes, so my back nearly broken , i returned to Alexandria, VA. Given that i am a veteran, retired GM-13. … i do not think my retirement pension net $ 28,000 per annum plus most of my IRA should put me so close to the poverty line. Can you immagine how desperate i feel? Could you live on less than $50.000 a year? i had kidney failure and our Medical system with Care Providers will either make me homeless or bankrupt. Could you give me a job as statistical consultant somewhere in DoD when you become President? My health is bad, but i would be happy to put in 10 or 15 hours a week. I already live in the DC Area, since 1970.
may i add, i stand by all my comments made on facebook under herbs Ewert. :)
Yes, Mormons are Christians
Dear Fox News,
Please do the RIGHT THING
The right thing to do would be to invite Mitt Romney on your show to respond to your statement. It is clear The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints follow Christ, believe in Christ, serve Jesus Christ.
How much clearer can it get.
Please do some research and then invite Mitt Romney on to discuss first hand.
that would be the right thing for any Journalist to do.
We have come to see Fox News as the fair news source, please do not loose that standing with your viewers.
Please do your homework before you speak. Please invite Mitt Romney on your show.
That was a very stupid remark, she better study her religions before making statments like that. Very bad for Fox News, it all most makes me noy want to watch fox, they should be smarter than that to even be on Fox News.
@Neal and Kris Barncard
I don’t have TV. WTH are you talking about?
I support Romney because he is a moderate Republican. I hate when conseratives think they control the party. We are losing the battle against the liberals with their media spin of Obama and the debt ceiling debate. We need a strong canidate, who will get the message out to the independents, moderate republicans, and conservative democrats, or we will have Obamas policies until 2016. Pundits and talking heads like Hannity, and Gallager have to stop pushing the Conserative agenda over the Republican agenda. Romney is the only one who has a chance to beat that socialist in the White House, but he better start talking directly and start throwing a few punches. Nice guys finish last.
Romney is my man. He is devout in his religion. More than you can say about that goofball in the whitehouse today. God Bless Romney and God Bless America.
I say PRAY for the ones that say mormons are not christians
@Jane Heyn
I totally agree with you, Jane. We all need to write to Fox News over this nasty statement. Ms Ainsley needs to GO. Fox News is getting more and more liberal lately. They are always pusshing Bachmann and Palin. Tired of it!! America needs a MAN that has the Character, Honesty and Integrity and experience like Mitt Romney!!! GO Mitt!! 2012
A PARABLE about the Jones’ family (put in whatever family name you will…)
Three adult siblings (two brothers and a sister) were talking one day about their father. The oldest Jones son said, “he was always so strict, always expected me to be perfect, I never felt like I could please him…” The second (a daughter) disagreed–”You are wrong. He was always very relaxed and hardly expected anything of me. I always felt like I could do whatever I wanted.” The youngest son spoke up, “You are both wrong. He wanted us to be the best we could be, but was always patient and understanding when we made mistakes and encouraged me to do better.” They continued arguing for some time. Finally, the daughter said, “It’s obvious the two of you don’t know him at all. How can you call yourselves his sons if that’s what you think. You’d better agree with me or I will tell everyone you are not really his sons or even a Jones’s at all.” The oldest son was indignant at this and said, “What do you mean. It is obvious you don’t know him at all. You’d better agree with me or I will tell everyone you are not a Jones. In fact, I’ll tell them you were never even legally adopted!” The younger son was sad at this and said, “Look, we obviously have had different experiences and think of him in different ways. Do either of you really believe our having different opinions about him makes any of us not a Jones? Even though we feel differently about him, is he still not the same father to each of us?
Unmoved by this, the older two siblings felt rebuffed by their younger brother and turned on him together. They both agreed that they would tell everyone he was illegitimate and not an heir of their father–that he was not a Jones and if he ever claimed to be, they would say he was from an entirely different family altogether.
As sad and ridiculous as this story may seem. It is not too far off from the current discussion about Mormons not being Christian or worshiping a “different” God or Jesus. Even though Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, or other religious groups may believe different things about Jesus Christ–we are still all talking about the same God. This is the Jesus who healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, cleansed the temple, walked on water, gave the sermon on the mount, suffered for all our sins, and ultimately gave His life as a ransom for all on a cross in Calvary. Yes, there are additional or different teachings Mormons may attribute to or believe about Jesus Christ–but it is still the same Jesus. Mormons may not be EVANGELICAL Christians–but we are Christians–we are followers and worshipers of Jesus Christ. I think if we could be successful in relaying that message, much would be accomplished.
Romney and Mormons not Christian? President Jimmy Carter said it best in 1997 – “Too many leaders now, I think, in the Southern Baptist Convention and in other conventions, are trying to act as the Pharisees did, who were condemned by Christ, in trying to define who can and who cannot be considered an acceptable person in the eyes of God. In other words, they’re making judgments on behalf of God. I think that’s wrong.” Carter testified that “the people in my own local church have no interest in trying to condemn Mormons or trying to convert Mormons to be good old Baptists like me.” Carter criticized SBC leaders for becoming “narrow in their definition of what is a proper Christian” and for believing “that every verse in the Bible has to be interpreted literally.”
Alhough I do not agree with President Carter on many things I do respect him for this statement.
Ainsley Earhart has said dopey things before…they tried her out on the A.M. show a year or so ago, and she actually stood up and starting flapping her arms, mocking a person they were discussing. One of the guys told her to sit down. I think Fox has been trying to train her for something, but what I don’t know. I would bet when her contract is up, she is out of there. She came on thinking she was a Farrah Fawcett look-a-like and that was about all she had to offer in my opinion. I don’t know whether Mitt Romney is a born again follower of Christ or not. That is between him and the Lord I guess. I do know his dad was a good governor of Michigan and a good family man as far we ever knew. I don’t Mitt Romney for President for a lot of reasons, but being a Mormon is not one of them.
