John Sununu Speaks on Potential 2012 GOP Candidates

Here is a great no holds barred interview from yesterday with ABC’s Amy Walter and Rick Klein featuring special guest John Sununu. Sununu was the former conservative Governor of New Hampshire and former White House Chief of Staff for President George H. W. Bush (#41).

Never one to temper his opinion and, as expected, Sununu doesn’t here, either.

Fast forward to the 3:05 minute mark. (Hear what he has to say about Governor Romney!)

~Update from Ross (3/29/11)

According to sources, the New Hampshire Journal is reporting that Sununu is already helping Romney; wooing Union Leader.

  1. Chris says:

Bos, saw this on your other site. I think that Mitt is the one with the right skill sets this go round. It’s nice too, to see the other big top GOP’s falling in line behind Mitt.

  2. Dennis L Thompson says:

Mitt is great. Pawlenty is not good or Daniels. Mitt is heads and tails above any one else out there.

  3. Sam says:

It’s CRUCIAL for popular figures and figures outside the Romney Camp to be defending RomneyCare.

Voters may not believe everything Romney says about the issue, but as long as well-respected and highly-regarded figures are making Romney’s case, voters may open up a little more to Romney.

It’s kind of like family, when you all meet up for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and others, and discuss politics. There is no mistrust there. People will listen to people they trust.

  4. Let’s get the horse out of the chute, take the initiative and make it clear where this campaign is headed. It’s going to be that much tougher later especially if an unlikely nominee like John Huntsman actually throws his hat into the ring. The LDS church doesn’t need the notoriety and America doesn’t necessarily need a Mormon as president but we do need competence in the white house. Mitt Romney is not only competent, he has momentum. He’s accepted and respected on both sides of the isle. What’s more, he’s more than half way down that isle, he’s articulate and has built a clear case for getting back to basics in this country . Romney is right for America!

  5. Jeff Fuller says:

Sununu is DEFINITELY for Mitt! He knew all the RomneyCamp talking points and refused to say a bad word about him . . . while he was happy to point out flaws of all the other leading contenders. Good News for Mitt!

  6. Mark says:

Glad to see other GOP’s, such as Sununu, step up and dispel the constant spin by the Left on comparing Romneycare to Obamacare.

  7. Tim says:

Obviously, Gov. Sununu is supporting Mitt Romney. He’s ingnoring Romney’s support of a Universal health care model in MA, yet critisizes others that may pose a challenge to Gov. Romney. Gov. Sununu: just stop pretending and say you support Mitt Romney. They you two can bond by hunting squirrels (a few times), march with MLK, and ignore your younger days of youth and liberalism.
