One point about his comment on the positive effect of Sarah Palin is worth noting. In his Bain days, Mr. Romney was known for what he called “creative conflict.” People who came out of Bain and have written business books like to talk about this concept. The idea is not to get into ugly fights about things but to encourage vigorous debate about different ideas and approaches. As long as people argue in clean way, the arguments help to find the best solution. I think running for president would be a mistake for Mrs. Palin. She has enough other things in her life to handle, but Mr. Romney’s comments reminded me that he likes that “creative conflict” approach to problem solving. That proven technique is one of the many attributes that he could bring to the presidency.
Did you see Mrs. Romney’s reference to ‘Al Cardenas’ as ‘Castro’s nemesis’???
Remember I told you about him and my families links to him (he ran the ’08 campaign for Romney in Florida), though, as you know, I was with Senator McCain.
She kind of fumbled the line but you get what I am trying to convey, :-)
