Governor Mitt Romney will be dropping by to chat with the ladies of The View on February 1, 2011 – which coincides with the paperback release of his book No Apology – that very same day. The View has also scheduled appearances with Tim Pawlenty and Scott Brown:
“The View” is lining up big-name Republicans as guests.
Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will stop by the ABC chatfest on Tuesday.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will drop in Feb. 1 — his second visit to the show.
Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts will be a guest Feb. 21.
Brown and Pawlenty will be making their first visits to the show[...]
Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Huckabee all made post-2010 election stops on The View, as well.
Here’s a look at Gov Romney’s excellent guest appearance on The View back on March 2, 2010. It was the first day of the release of his engrossing and thought-provoking new book No Apology: The Case for American Greatness:

I remember Joy being quite taken with GMR.
Um…trying to find enthusiasm for this idea. Yeah, I guess it makes sense if you’re going to be in the market for votes. I hope, at least Governor Romney isn’t excessively diplomatic…
Not sure what “excessively diplomatic” means. I predict he will be what he always is and that is respectful, friendly and charming–in other words– himself.
Romney is the ONLY candidate with the experience in executive govt., business and community service (missions through LDS) to debate and defeat BO. Also, he has the ground game at a local community level. The GOP needs to get over the religious hardle and nominate a well qualified man who can get this nation back on track. I say Romney/West, Romney/McCrystal or any other person Romney see’s fit to pick in order to get USA back on track to prosperity. OR we can give Russia oversight over our missile production and shield, China 48% of our GDP in debt interest payments and prepare for Russians to take back Alaska and Japan to take HI. It’s not a pretty picture unless We The People rise up and REVOLT against King George (even if he has a tan this time). God Bless America and God Bless Romney for his service. And yes, I am a born again christian who believes this is not a theocracy and Barack was One Big Astounding Mistake America that needs to be changed back and the Russian treaty REJECTED!
Excessively diplomatic means excessively ignoring the fact that Democrats have taken a wrecking ball to our country over the past six years. I don’t expect a Mark Levin approach, but there needs to be a sobriety to this, and all “incursions” so deep into enemy territory.
Governor Romney – No Apology Offered by THIS citizen. I miss having a guts and glory type of leader in congress today. I migrated to the USA in 1991 from Kenya with a one way ticket and 2000 dollars. I live and breath the American Dream that many who came before me worked very hard to preserve. In 2012, PLEASE win this election for our Children’s national pride and those who will come after them. We need your experience to respond to all the economic and military threats facing this nation. Run like our nation depended on it – because in many ways we are counting on YOU.
@Steve-
Mitt has the opportunity to reach many moderate viewers in the audience of the view. I think it makes perfect sense to do the show. I do not think it would be appropriate for Mitt to be aggressive in his rhetoric. Save it for the debates.
I find it appealing that Mitt Romney has taken up the cause for many conservative positions and has been able to maintain respectability among moderates and liberals.
Tracy, I agree he should do the show. It’s just a show that embodies a lot of what makes me cringe, so not having reservations about the appearance would be…strange.
Also, about 25% of what I often write is for comedic effect; I didn’t say I was necessarily funny, only that that’s the goal ;-)
