Mitt Romney Endorses Oregon’s Jim Huffman, Montana Congressman Denny Rehburg
Two more endorsements from Governor Romney this week…
Yesterday, Republican senatorial candidate Jim Huffman was added to the list of Oregon candidates endorsed by Mitt Romney:
PORTLAND- Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney has continued his political action committee’s investment in Oregon politics with a $5,000 donation to accompany the endorsement of Republican senatorial candidate Jim Huffman.
[...]
Huffman once served as a constitutional advisor to Romney during his 2008 presidential bid.

These combined donations bring Romney’s total contribution to Oregon candidates to $22,500. This is the second biggest collection of investments for a single state in the past month. The only state which drew more from the PAC was Michigan, receiving $28,400 in additional contributions for eleven of its Republican Congressional candidates.“Jim Huffman will be a leader fighting for lower taxes, controls on spending and the pro-growth policies that are necessary to create jobs and get our economy moving again,” Romney said in Wednesday’s statement. “As a constitutional scholar, he understands that big government and liberal spending programs threaten the personal freedom and individual liberty that are at the core of our democracy,” he said.
Huffman said in the statement that he is grateful for the endorsement and that he shares the same goals as Romney, “standing up against the reckless spending, higher taxes and runaway national debt.”
Next, we turn to Big Sky Country where Romney is supporting the re-election of Congressman Denny Rehberg…
Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC [9/8/10] endorsed Montana Congressman Denny Rehberg’s reelection campaign (www.dennyrehberg.com).
“With over 30 years of experience as a small businessman and public servant, Denny Rehberg understands the importance of enacting pro-growth policies that will turn our troubled economy around and put people back to work. A committed fiscal conservative, Denny will continue to fight for lower taxes and fiscal discipline and that is why I am standing with him today,” said Romney.
Romney’s PAC is also sending Rehberg’s Congressional campaign a $2,500 contribution.
This endorsement is another in a series of state rollouts of the PAC’s 2010 endorsements, which are aimed at electing conservative candidates who will work to lower taxes and spending, restore commonsense principles to healthcare and get our economy moving again. As part of this program, Romney’s PAC also has announced endorsements in Ohio, Missouri, California, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Nevada, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Indiana, Idaho, New Mexico, Virginia, Florida, North Dakota, South Carolina, Utah, Maine, South Dakota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Wyoming, Colorado, Michigan, Oklahoma and Oregon.
