Romney Backs California Congresswoman Bono Mack
From Elyse Miller at KESQ.com:
It’s a big race with big support.
“It’s an honor he is here, he’s a great leader,” says Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack.
Former Massachusetts Governor and Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney is supporting congresswoman Mary Bono Mack’s 2010 re-election.
“This is an important race,” says Romney. “The democrats are targeting this race and we are targeting this race.”
At a news conference in Indian Wells the two arrived with spouses in tow. They spoke about their friendship and similar ideas and goals.
“On major issues we see eye to eye,” says Romney. “We want to keep the homeland safe. We want to gather intelligence to protect our people. We want to create jobs in the private sector.”
With the shift in power toward the democratic side some wonder if this race will follow suit, but Bono Mack and Romney are confident republicans will prevail.
“This is a bad year for democrats,” says Bono Mack. “People are so disenfranchised with congress’ liberal agenda.”
Romney and Bono Mack took time to share their own disapproval of the current administration.
“He’s putting us on a path to decline,” says Romney.
“He’s failing on the war on terror, failing the economy and doing health care negotiations behind closed doors,” says Bono Mack. ” American people are tired of it.”
Romney says Bono Mack has the tools to turn things around.
“People are so angry with the direction he is taking the country and people are now getting behind races like this one,” says Romney.
Like all races, fundraising is key and it’s something Romney will help Bono-Mack do. They both say despite the tough economy people will pay if it leads to change.
“Conservatives are getting great support,” says Romney.

BONO MACK VOTED FOR CAP & TRADE. NO THANK YOU.
THESE ARE THE KIND OF RINOs THAT NEED TO GO.
My guess is that Mitt got assurances that either Cap & Trade is dead or that Congresswoman Mack will not ever support it again.

On June 26, 2009 Mary Bono Mack voted yes on the American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) See: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll477.xml
Since that time, Mack joined with other Reps on December 15, 2009 to co-sponsor House Bill H.R.391 on 12/15/2009. The purpose of the bill is of AMEND the Clean Air Act to provide that greenhouse gases are not subject to the Act, and for other purposes.
House Bill H.R.391 Sponsor: Rep Blackburn, Marsha [TN-7] (introduced 1/9/2009) Cosponsors (148)
SUMMARY AS OF:
1/9/2009–Introduced.
Amends the Clean Air Act to: (1) exclude from the definition of the term “air pollutant” carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, or sulfur hexafluoride; and (2) declare that nothing in the Act shall be treated as authorizing or requiring the regulation of climate change or global warming.
The following sheds light on Mary Bono Mack’s change of mind regarding the American Clean Energy and Security Act (original bill) H.R. 2454:

Washington, Dec 18, 2009 – Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today issued the following statement on the conclusion of Copenhagen, which will pave the way for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to unilaterally regulate greenhouse gases:
“International climate change negotiations in Copenhagen have been largely unsuccessful and have highlighted the hypocrisy of those who are clamoring for overreaching government regulations while traveling to these meetings in private jets and SUVs that create the very pollution this conference seeks to reduce.
“The EPA recently demonstrated its intention to highly regulate American industries and individuals with reckless new rules that will have a devastating impact on our economy. I have warned against this ‘agency out of control’ approach in the past, and we must not allow it to happen.”

Washington, Dec 7, 2009 – Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45), Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, issued the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that six greenhouse gases (GHGs) threaten public health and the environment, which paves the way for the Administration to implement unilateral regulations on various sectors of our economy:
“Today’s announcement by the EPA represents the worst path to a clean energy economy, one toward more bureaucratic solutions to our Nation’s challenges. Pressing this effort shortly before the Copenhagen summit ignores the state of our economy and the detrimental effects of a government Agency acting alone in regulating our lives.
“I also have concerns that this announcement, coming shortly after controversial emails on climate change, leaves questions that still need to be answered.
“The EPA’s decision, coupled with reckless spending and the email scandal, raises serious questions about where we are heading. The Senate has an opportunity to right this debate and improve this flawed approach, as Americans deserve – and demand – better.”
Actions speak louder than words. Her voting record says it all. Check it out.
She’s a Republican In Name Only, and votes with the left.
The Republican Party needs a clean out, and she’s on the list.
