Mitt Romney’s new book now has a face and is due to be released March 2, 2010. Mark your calendars. The book, No Apology – The Case for American Greatness, is available in hardback for pre-sale at Amazon for $17.15.

Did I mention that Mitt is donating all of the money he makes from book sales to charity? How can we not support this class act? Since you may want to give something more than a pre-buy (although I’d be ecstatic to get this one), Mitt’s first book Turnaround: Crisis, Leadership, and the Olympic Games can be bought at Amazon for a great price which would surely wet the appetite of anyone waiting for No Apology.

I’m sure your attention is starting to turn toward buying gifts for your loved ones for the holidays. Luckily, Mitt’s Free and Strong America PAC has come up with a great way for you to help them and help yourself.

Holiday Package

The Free and Strong America PAC recently launched a new online store where you can obtain all sorts of fun gear, for yourself and for all your gift-giving needs. And here’s the best part — 100% of every purchase you make at the store counts as a contribution to the PAC, which will go directly to helping Mitt stay active on the political scene. The store makes it easier than ever before to order multiple items and quantities, as well as send gifts directly to your friends and family.

In addition to fleece pullovers, t-shirts, hats, and many of the other items that have been offered in the past, the PAC is also featuring limited edition “Holiday Packages,” from which you can choose to get a Free and Strong America PAC knit blanket and his-and-her mug set for a contribution of $150, the mug set alone for $50, or a single mug for $30. The knit blanket is a great way to keep warm as we head into the winter months!

If any of you have any other ideas that you feel could be added to this list, please comment below. Thanks everyone and have a wonderful holiday season!

Ross, thanks for the timely reminder to give ‘Mitt-gifts” to support his PAC and thanks for asking for my gift-giving suggestions. I’m taking you up on your offer! While my suggestions aren’t specifically Romney related, they reinforce Mitt’s conservative values and passion for educating children.

Christmas and Hanukah are perfect opportunities to give gifts to children that teach them CONSERVATIVE VALUES and AMERICAN HISTORY. IF YOU DON’T HAVE CHILDREN, give a few copies of the following books to your local elementary school library and local public library! Believe me; they will appreciate your donation.

    Recommended:
“Teach a Donkey to Fish”‘ by Scott and Andrea Smith (I came across this super book on Smart Girl Politics. It’s a brand new children’s paperback about Goppy the elephant and Libby the donkey which teaches children about entitlements and hard work. Last time I checked it isn’t yet available on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, so order it from their Goppy website.)

    Goppy Website: http://www.goppy.com/index.html
“Goppy is a bright, young, fun-loving elephant with an incredible passion for America. Based on a dedication to the American family, the Goppy Project exists to teach young children the values of Individual Responsibility, Civic Duty, Freedom, Capitalism and Conservatism through a series of books that kids will love and parents will appreciate for their instructional value.”

Lynne Cheney, wife of former Vice-President Dick Cheney has authored several children’s books that are terrific! (Prices quoted are from Amazon.com.)
    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=lynne+cheney+children%27s+books

“We the People: The Story of Our Constitution” by Lynne Cheney and Greg Harlin (Hardcover – Sep 9, 2008) Buy new: $17.99 $12.95

“America : A Patriotic Primer” by Lynne Cheney and Robin Preiss Glasser (Hardcover – May 21, 2002) Buy new: $16.95 $12.20

“When Washington Crossed the Delaware: A Wintertime Story for Young Patriots” by Lynne Cheney and Peter M. Fiore (Hardcover – Oct 12, 2004) – Bargain Price
    Buy new: $16.95 $6.78

“Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America” by Lynne Cheney and Robin Preiss Glasser (Hardcover – Oct 24, 2006) Buy new: $18.99 $13.67

(This next book is interactive and especially grand! If you order it, be sure to get the Christopher Bing version of this famous poem/story. It is amazing!)

“Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Christopher Bing
    http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Midnight-Ride-of-Paul-Revere/Henry-Wadsworth-Longfellow/e/9781929766130/?itm=1&usri=the+midnight+ride+of+paul+revere

“In his magnificent interpretation of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem, Christopher Bing seamlessly weaves history and imagination into a rich portrait of an American hero. A meticulous researcher, Bing includes material that provides texture to history, maps that follow the British campaign to quell the rebellious citizenry, as well as the patriot s ride into the Massachusetts night of April, 1775. Documents firmly affixed into the book, including the British general s orders to his troops and Revere s own deposition relating the events, give the reader not only a visual experience but a tactile one as well. Far more than a brilliantly presented history lesson, this book represents a tour de force of coherent artistic vision. In an extraordinary series of rich and moody engravings, from the mysteriously shimmering rigging of the British sloop, The Somerset, looming in a moonlit Boston harbor to the taut urgency of a man and his horse galloping at a combustible moment in the American experience, this book illuminates our country s past unlike any other.”

Lastly, I heartily recommend ANY book from the award winning “Dear America” series which features historical journal entries by GIRL characters. The success of this series inspired the series “My Name is America” – a historical journal series featuring BOY characters. Recommended for children ages 9-13. Super-duper!

    Final thoughts…

TV. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they’ll have with twenty-six. Open your child’s imagination. Open a book. ~Author Unknown

The stories of childhood leave an indelible impression, and their author always has a niche in the temple of memory from which the image is never cast out to be thrown on the rubbish heap of things that are outgrown and outlived. ~Howard Pyle

    You may have tangible wealth untold;
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be -
I had a mother who read to me.
    ~Strickland Gillilan

P.S. Fathers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, big brothers, and big sisters who read to children make a BIG difference in a child’s life!

Let’s make this book a best seller before it hits the stores. The pre order buzz would be great for Gov. Romney.
