Romney talks about the state of Obama on Hannity

November 18th, 2009 7:04 pm Author: GOPToast
From GOPToast:
This is what a president should sound like. This is what a 2012 contender should sound like. In twelve minutes, Mitt Romney tackles just about every subject America is dealing with today, from the stateside trial of a terrorist mastermind to the economy to Afghanistan … to Sarah Palin. And he does it all without sounding petty or childish. Sarah Palin, this is how you move beyond 2008. Mike Huckabee, this is how you grow up and stop trying to start immature fights with people in your own party.

How many months away does everyone think we are from Romney finally confirming that he’s a candidate in 2012? After the elections next November? End of 2010?

Thanks to ComMITTed to Romney for landing to the audio.

I find it absolutely mind boggling that Mitt was able to say, “The government takeover of healthcare, a growth of a massive new entitlement, will hurt this economy and slow it down. Trillion dollar deficits every year–that is unsustainable. It will hurt this economy and slow it down. It will kill jobs.” This is the same man who instituted the complete failure that is government-run healthcare in Massachusetts. I was shocked when I heard this in my vehicle on Monday. I never thought he would go there. I guess he realizes he can’t hide from it forever. $50 co-pay abortions anyone?

Before critiquing the health care system in Massachusetts, one needs to remember how government – and very often, state government – works. Despite whatever plan Romney had envisioned for Massachusetts when it came to health care reform, the Massachusetts legislature was still able to make their own changes to it. Romney was a Republican governor working with a Democratic legislature. Liberal entitlement programs and spending were tacked onto the bill, much like we’re seeing happen in the case of the national health care reform right now, thus warping the bill beyond what Romney had hoped for.

You need to see this: http://bit.ly/MA_HealthCare

97% of people are insured in MA – that was the objective. What other state can say that? Health Care should be resolved within the states, not on a nation-wide, Federal Government level; Romney knows that. The fact that Romney made any sort of progress with lib legislature he had to work with is very impressive.

    Joe,
GOP Toast and Aaronius have it right.
ALSO–MA doesn’t have Gov’t Run healthcare, they have Gov’t mandated health care in businesses of a certain size. The businesses still go through private healthcare to have their employees covered.
Mitt is the best thing for this country, and anyone who just spits the junk you just did is only hurting his chances to prove it in 2012. Read a book before you bring that trash in here.
